My first pair of Danner Lookout boots were great. Re-ordered the exact boot and size but this new pair is extremely tight and painful to wear, even after substantial time to break in. Even untied and unzipped, the boots are too tight around the middle and front of the boot. I ordered a boot stretcher and if that doesn’t fix the problem I’ll have to go with a different boot.

I purchased these and they are comfortable. They started making a lot of noise after a few days. I called Danner, they sent out two different types of insoles. Both worked for a day or two before the noise started again. I had to send them back and am awaiting a credit.

So far these boots have been great! Most comfortable boot I have ever worn in my 10 years in Fire/EMS. These are VERY warm in the summer the waterproof liner offers almost no ventilation and causes very sweaty feet. Additionally the cushion insole has hard plastic that rubs against the leather of the heel of the boot making a terrible squeak when walking. I was able to easily correct this with some cloth tape as a buffer.

I bought the wide fit. The design is wide at the toes, but the padding on the second half of the boot and ankle feels like a narrow and tight width. I have the laces as loose as possible, zipper down, and still I pull hard to put them on. I'll continue to break them in soften up the padding. The purpose of my purchase was the space for toes and bunions. Mission accomplished.

In law enforcement, been wearing daily for about 9 months. Out of the box they are good and comfortable but had a weird squeak with each step (went away after break in). The foot bed is comfortable and supportive. They tend to hold in moisture and mildew very easily on the inside, get a boot dryer. A couple months ago, the pull tab on one of the zippers broke and the locking mechanism made it to where the zipper is now inoperable, they need to add a velcro tab at the top of the boot to cover the zipper while in use. The foot bed inserts have deteriorated badly (cracking and pieces of the plastic and fabric are falling out daily) at least these can be replaced. Ultimately, I've opted to replace them.

These boots feel already broken in every time have bought them. Foot bed is comfortable and the toes have plenty of space. The insoles that come in these boots are very good and replaceable. Thanks Danner keep making good products.

I ordered the extra wide to have some space, for desert use at Burning Man. Performance boots. In water, waterproof through streams, very protective and comfortable. Zipper is a great feature. I also notice on steep rocky inclines these do not slip going down, as with another brand I have that cost $50. more.

Confortable, light weight, well constructed It does feel kind of narrow at the top, on top of the toes. Squishy sound that I’m hoping will go away. Style is great, looks good all around, very symmetrical.

I had trouble finding the right size boot initially. I am typically (99.5% of the time) a size 10.5 in athletic shoes (Nike mostly). I ordered a 10.5 for these boots but they were too big. So I ordered the size 10 and the size 10 were perfect. The boots took a little break in time but all in all a quality and good product. I wear stir up style shirt stays that wrap under the foot, that cause some discomfort but it’s the shirt stays and not the boots. The width of the boot is comfortable as is. I have low arches and medium size width feet. The boots work well. I highly recommend.

I’m on my feet 8-16 hours a day. They never disappoint. A little hot in the summer but I just remove the footbed at the end of my shift and go again the next day. Last me about a year.

Boots are comfortable and fit great. . easy to get off and on with side zip. . polish up great too

These are great boots daily duty wear. Well made and comfortable. Would highly recommend them

I love me some Danners. I stand by their work. Danners are the only boot I wear for work. I’m very disappointed in this boot. I been wearing them for a month now, and every step I take they’re popping. Be a corrections officer its about the element of surprise and I can’t surprise anyone with these boots on, they can hear me coming from a mile away.

I'm on my third pair. I work emergency and they are great. Easy on and off

They creak. Tried 2-3 different things and still creak. Nerve wracking to say the least.

Like bc of water proofing but had these a while now and the insoles still squeak really loud and they r not comfortable for a lighter boot.

I’ve developed an issue. There is a crease on the inside top of the toe on the left boot all of a sudden and it won’t go away. I’ve tried pushing it out with a smooth curved wrench and it won’t come out?

I returned the boots. I love Danner boots built on the 650 last. This one being different, it didn’t work for me.

The sole sounds like you have an octopus under your feet while walking on indoor floor, I think it is the design of the knobs on the sole. Comfy boots easy slip on and off. Little warm wearing indoors but very good outdoors.

Great boots been buying them for many years, a very tough boot and a lot of comfort on long days on my feet, i love the feel of them and the width of them for my wide feet, i would recommend them for anyone on there feet all day long

I have always stuck with Danner because of the comfort; however, the lookouts are not that comfortable at all and cause me pain. Sorry Danner, I am trying THOROGOOD boots.

The boots have been put through training, they made it but seem to be a bit worse for wear. They were purchased in december.

Really wanted to like these, but sadly they were just too narrow in the mid-foot (arch) area, even having ordered the wide size. They felt great everywhere else but sadly I had to return it.

Great so far, still breaking them in. True test will be during pheasant hunting. Good fit and support. Comfortable to walk in.

Overall a good quality boot but the toe area is very small from top to bottom and the boot folds over pressing on my foot when I walk. It’s pretty irritating but I guess I’ll live with it until I get money for a new pair of something else.

Wish I never bought these… Basically squeaking bricks on my feet.

Leather in the toe area came apart from the inner liner material with light use two months after purchase. Filed a warranty claim and received a full refund in Danner credit. Bought a pair of Reebok tactical boots out of pocket, those bots get 5 stars all day long.

Absolutely a fantastic boot! No break in period, perfect size and comfort. The look great and feel great! The leather on the toe is easy to polish. The width was just right and not over done like other brands. After a month of wearing them, I recommend them to all my co-workers.
