I bought these less than a year ago in the 8 inch configuration. While they were comfortable for the first couple months, that quickly ended and they became unbearable to wear for a normal work day. I chose these because I liked how they looked - they do look good. Can't fault that. As well as for the fearures. 1. Waterproof - simply put, they aren't and they never were from day 1. Any puddle more than an inch deep soaked them. Any amount of rain more than a drizzle and they were wet for days. I'm not exaggerating either. 2. Slip/oil resistance - they're ok but far from the best I've had. Moderate spills on a porous surface like asphalt or concrete and you're ok. A slick treated floor or metal like on a tow truck bed and they're worthless. 3. Composite toe - seems to do what it's supposed to so no fault there. The construction of the boot itself also fell short on what I'd expect from a nearly $200 boot. Stitching in multiple spots on both boots came undone after 5 months. This made the waterproofing even worse since they each had holes in several spots. The red trim also peeled off, in some cases with my help since it was really irritating having flapping rubber hanging from my boots.

My husband loves these boots! Upset they are no longer making them

Love the boots, these are the only boots my husband will wear. They were sold out everywhere else, so I chose to buy them from Sheplers, even though they were more expensive than other boot stores. Shipping was fast though.
