No break in required. Light and supportive. Haven't had them in a wet environment so can't vouch for waterproofness yet. Handles wintery WI weather.

I waiked 100 yards through wet grass i have a great video of me wringing out my socks forth time I've wore them thanks Danner for wrecking my hunt!! You should tell people its just a tag on the boots they are not even close to water proof.

I really like my new boots the 400g is perfect for our western winters they are tall enough to provide support and light enough to wear all day thank you for my 10th pair of danner boots or shoes

I have worn Danner Boots for several years I had bought the Pronghorn line of boots There was a small problem with the Pronghorn after wearing numerous time it started to make a squeak on every step. I bought the Vital 8” late 2022 and I will not ever wear another boot.

The weather in South Texas affords few opportunities for insulated boots but when the need arises, my Vital boots do not disappoint. Warm, waterproof, and flexible enough to accommodate multiple layers of clothing.

Awesome boots for my wide feet this is the reason i have bought danners since 1986. never had a problem.

Got these last summer, wore them a few times during the summer/early fall on short hikes (less than 2 miles) in the local park to break them in, had no issues with blisters or anything. Wore them deer hunting in TN with 0 issues, flexes enough you can use a climber stand or easily use tree steps. Took them to MT on a mule deer hunt and the only issue I had was they didn't really clean out on their own. The mud filled the tread and they got pretty slick, but the dirt there clings to everything. Had no other issues going 5-10 miles a day for 5 days straight. I own several pair of Danners and they all seem to run a bit small. I typically wear a 10.5 but in Danners I wear an 11.5 so keep that in mind when ordering

These boots are very lightweight and comfortable. I wear them working around the house and pretty much every day that I'm not at work. Very pleased with these boots so far.

Bought this boot as a replacement for a pair of Irish Setters I had worn out. Wasn’t sure if I was going to like this boot, but this boot is fantastic! Feels great, warm, good traction and super comfortable! Couldn’t be happier!

Bought my first pair of Danner Vital 400g boots about a month ago. Used them on two separate occasions for hunting a morning hunt each time in dry conditions then went out a third time for the day and it had rained the night prior so the grass and brush was wet, within an hour tops my feet were soaking wet. Not waterproof at all. Wouldn’t recommend these boots.

This Danner boot is one of the best boots I have owned . Comfortable

Too small toe box. I wanted a water proof durable boot. I have no idea how the waterproofing or durability is.

Feet stayed dry walking 5miles in wet snow very comfortable my camp is in Michigan so lots of snow good for snow shoeing also

I normally wear a 13 but ordered a 14 and they fit fine. I haven't used them in the field yet as I'm waiting for the fall season to begin. They feel great walking around the house.

I bought these boots for pheasant and deer hunting. Overall, they are not too bad of a boot. However, they are too wide for my feet so I am returning them. My one complaint is how cheap the laces are or how rough the grommets are. I wore these a couple times and the laces shredded on the grommets. I’m fairly neutral on how I feel about these boots, nothing too great, nothing too bad.

Great boots with superior ankle support and stability. Very lightweight boots

Comfortable from the first moment I put them on. After hours and miles of trail walking through cool damp forest or on rocky beaches my feet are dry and warm. So far I've walked about 40 miles with them and never once thought my feet are bothering me. I highly recommend for outdoor activities where a boot is needed.

There not waterproof. Not a very good warranty. Buy another less expensive brand

Was very happy the first few times wearing, very comfortable and not bulky like the boots i was used too. Conditioned regularly throughout the season, but boot showed a lot of wear and cracking. Come the second season with this boot, it is no longer water proof, looks extremely worn and has torn seams/holes. Would buy again if only hunting a handful of times a year as the boot looks good and is very comfortable, if using for regular hunting and wanting more than a single year out of a boot would not recommend this one.
