Dan Post for this dude

Aug 6, 2009
I wear cowboy boots as dress shoes to work five days a week. Over the course of time, I've owned Justin (2 different models), J. Chisholm (2 different models), Acme, a Shepler's $40 "Made in India" pair, and Dan Post (with walking heel). This is the second pair of Dan Post cowboy boots I've purchased and they felt right from the beginning like the other pair (with the exception of their needing to be broken in like any pair of boots, of course). What I particularly like about this pair are the rubber soles. The description of "fine line rubber soles" should not be confused with super thin and cheap. It was apparent to me that, out of the box, these soles are meant to last; yet they aren't thick like neoprene soles. Considering that I can go through a pair of leather soles in less than three months, the rubber soles are a real plus, particularly since they do not make the boots look like work boots. I went with Dan Post again because my first pair in that brand have been the toughest wearing cowboy boots I've owned with comfort to boot. Dan Post may not be for everybody, but they've worked for me. The price was right, too.

very dark

Actual boots are much more darker than expected or wanted, just a step away from black. Would still recommend for quality.

Poor Quality sole and heel

Problems with the heel after only a couple weeks. Right boot heel is now coming off and has been making noise with every step since purchase

Dan Post Boots

Boots were perfect when they arrived. Quick break in period. Great everyday piece of footwear!

Great boots

The rubber lining sole on the boots are just great, nice fit. A little stiff when new.

Not happy

Did not like the boot. There were what looked like glue marks on the vamp are of both boots. The boots did not have a removable insole. The insole on one boot was peeling up.

Poor fitting

May 23, 2024
Right boot is a bit tight . Initially I thought they just needed broken in but it’s not making a difference after two weeks. There is a visible shape difference vs the left boot. Reached out to Dan Post about it with no reply. Cannot return now. I guess I’m going to try a boot stretcher. They’re very expensive and I love the way they look but I think that there was a defect in workmanship.
