[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great pair of jeans with a utility pocket large enough to carry an iPhone 12 with an Otterbox case. The front slash pockets have plenty of room along with the leg openings being large enough to fit over boots without being baggy. The jeans have enough flex to them to stay comfortable bending down or working on your knees. I am 6'4" 205lbs and the jeans fit me very well. The material is lighter weight material and great for indoor/outdoor work but may not hold up as well for heavy outside work.

Very comfortable work jeans. The added stretch works well. Extra pockets are convenient. A minor complaint would be the coin pocket is to deep to get your fingers in to retrieve coins. Regardless of that complaint these jeans are highly recommended.

I love these jeans! They stand up to the wear and tear of working with asphalt and concrete. Plus they last forever. I still have a few pairs that I bought 3 years ago and they are still as comfortable as the day I got them.

I hated the fit, the way the front pockets are cut is not to my liking at all. Side pockets don’t fit modern large smartphones. Denim is very lightweight, no real flex that I could detect. Really disappointed carhartt stopped making my favorite carpenter jeans. Down to my two last pair and will have to find something comparable from elsewhere….

I wanted the 5 pocket jean but they don't come in 35" waist that I could find. The fifth pocket works great for my phone. Thinner material then I expected. Won't take long to wear these out. I love Carhartt clothes and have a closet full. Hard to buy online since you can't feel the materials, but stores don't carry 35" in all styles.

Ordered 7 of the same size and they are not very consistent with the size. Some fit ok and some don’t. Ordered several of this exact pair a few years ago and they fit great. New ones I received don’t.

Jeans fit nice! I like the stretch in the material and they are loose enough in thighs for working. Would have given them 5 stars but carhartt really needs to get their sizing correct. Any other brand jeans I buy a 36 waist is big. Carhartt 36 waist is like a 34-35. That applies to all their pants, jeans and shorts. Now that I'll start wearing these for work I'm sure carhartt will discontinue them. Everytime I find a certain pant I like for work carhartt discontinues them. My luck I guess.

I like the side pockets, they make carrying the many items I need for my job easier. The fit is good for me and the color is something that goes well with what I needed for my job. One of the many pros to this pant is that it does not slide down my backside when I bend or crouch. A good use pant and affordable. In short, it seems to be a quality product, and affordable to other pants, has the functional qualities I need then it is a good item for me to purchase. I recommend this product.

usually love to wear these pants but this new "rugged flex" jean is really not what I expected. I ordered the same size of rugged flex because I was unable to find a regular full cotton pant from carhart like the older ones I have. The new rugged flex are much more larger and longer and make them awkward to wear. I'd send them back but I already tried to break them in with some wear and washes.

These work great for working in a manufacturing plant where I wear through jeans within 6 months or so. These have held up the best of all the brands I've tried. This style allows me to keep my wallet and phone in safe pockets that won't get damaged.

The flex is nice, but I think because of it the denim feels a little thinner... and the combination of the stretch and thinner material kind of, err, shows things off a little more than I like. I also didn't pay attention to the pockets. The pockets down the back of the pant legs aren't practical for my purposes, and just look funny imo. My fault for not paying attention when I made the purchase.

My favorite part of these particular jeans is they do flex with me and there is no hammer loop! Instead of a loop they added another pocket to the left side and to me that makes these jeans better for my use because I have no need for the hammer loop.

These are by far the best work pants I’ve ever owned. I’ve owned 12 pairs now and wear them every day. They last plenty long enough for the money and fit great. I like the tappered leg so they don’t flare out . Great pants and would recommend them to anyone. Most everything i wear is cathartic and theesw pants meet my expectations .

Love the utility jeans , they are just like the carpenter jeans without silly hammer loops . I only have four stars because every pair I ordered had long pieces of threads hanging from seams and out of pockets that I needed to cut off ( I ordered 4 pair ). I hope this doesn't cause issues down the road . I would think Carhartt could do a little better on quality control .

I honestly have worn them no less than 5 days a week since Christmas. The fit is perfect. The small amount of flex makes them so much more comfortable. The pocket placement is very functional. The interior front pockets are attached at the seams so the contents can't move around. They are a little bit warmer than regular denim but this time of year that's a plus. These are my new favorite jeans.

I do not do any work in these jeans. They are my go to town/lounge around jeans. I use them maybe twice per week and it hasn't been a year yet and these jeans are falling apart. They are thread bare with a huge hole on the front of the thigh as if I had been bucking 75 lb bales all month long. Let me assure you that I have been bucking no bales, I am retired and try to do as little as possible. In addition, if I hold the jeans up to the light i can see other areas where they are wearing thin. I thought Carhartt was known for making rugged stuff. Well not in my experience. I will never again purchase a pair of their jeans. My other brands of jeans all last for years before needing replaced.

I remember purchasing the utility jeans last year some time. The newer ones I recently bought are not as thick. Not sure why the quality went down. I work in a machine shop and I need that thickness. So I'm not sure how long these are gonna last me

Has all the pockets as the Carhartt carpenter jeans I've worn "forever"! The 1% sandex in the 85% and 24% polymer fabric adds to the comfort. If I could have found them in black, I would have ordered those.

It's so nice to have a non restricting pair of pants. I can fit my phone in the pocket (LG v30+ a iphone 6 plus is about the equivalent). The fit is true to size. Can't say on durability but I have a similar type pants and they are very durabil . Going to be picking up anither pair soon here. Im reviewing the #102808 pants.

I ordered these jeans because they said they were rugged and figured I would give them a try because Carhartt has really good work shirts and jackets. Very disappointed in these jeans, didn't think I was ordering a pair of skinny jeans or fashion jeans. These can't even be called denim as they are super thin and do not offer any real protection. I wore these once to work and they already have small holes in areas. They are tight around my calves and thighs.

I like the straighter leg fit, these were somewhat baggy in the legs. Other than that I love these jeans and wear them to work. They are very comfortable and the flex to them is perfect for crouching and sitting. I will definitely be buying more, thanks for a great product Carhartt!

I bought 2 pairs of these jeans in 2019 and have worn them more than any other pants during the pandemic. I am wearing one pair as I write this. They are the best jeans I have ever owned, so I just bought 2 more pairs and look forward to wearing them.

Does Carhartt think all tall guys are fat? I ordered 3 pairs of these inI the 31 waist 34 inseam because they don’t offer them in a 36 inseam. Well the pants are too short so I sent 2 pairs back. They are very comfortable but they don’t come in long lengths.

A little too tight for their size, as compared to the same size other relaxed fit jeans that I wear. These were tight and uncomfortable even though they had some stretch in fabric ... I gave them to Salvation Army.

Carhartts are now light weight denim.

I bought these because Carhartt's website said they were made with their heaviest denim. Well, Carhartt like many other retailers has moved to lighter weight fabric as an economy move. These fit fine, but they weren't the heavy weight denim I was looking for and that Carhartt used to make.

My husband usually purchases Carhartt pants through a uniform supply store in our area and there is a little more room in the hip and rise area. These fit fine just not as relaxed as his others... or maybe hubby has gained weight! LOL

These are very comfortable jeans and fit well. I've been wearing Carhart Loose Fit Utility jeans and they haven't been holding up. These seem heavier and fit me better. I will know more in a year how they hold up. The right side leg pocket is also larger for carrying my cell phone. I do plan on getting a couple more pairs.

Great fit. The stretch denim feels better than regular denim. It’s not a heavy denim so I’m not sure about durability yet. Cell phone pocket fits an iPhone XR nicely. No hammer loop is a plus for me.

These are supposed to be relaxed fit and were not. They were tight in the crotch and seemed to be more straight leg that relaxed. These ran small in size.

I absolutely hate this modern fabric. Hate it. While I enjoy the design and fit of the Utility Jean, I simply threw the "Rugged Flex" in the recycle bin. Why in the world did you stop making these in a normal fabric???

I brought in a pair I've had for a while and now your company decided to change them .. so I returned them .. relax fit with straight leg don't fit me properly .. and because your company doesn't make them anymore with out the straight leg .. I will look for a brand that does

My Carhartt Rugged Flex® Relaxed Fit Utility Jeans fit very nicely, and are super comfortable. They have just enough stretch to move with you without any hint of binding. The utility pockets near the outseam are super convenient, and the worn look in the color I chose is a nice touch. I bought one pair and liked is so much that I bought a second pair.

This is my second pair of these (still have the first pair that I wear exclusively for working on home projects). Before I dedicated them for home projects I wore them pretty much every other week, every day of the week (26 weeks a year) and I have had them about 2 years now still going strong which is pretty darn good for denim woven with elastic material for mobility. Very comfortable and functional. I really like the cellphone pocket and use the others for holding hand tools.

Glad I found these. Like the way they fit and how they look. The pockets are cut the way I want and are well placed. The extra pouches are convenient for box cutter and small tools. Belt loops are where I want them, too. Not sure how well they will wear but great so far.

These are sturdy jeans you’d wear to work. They have deep pockets made of heavy material including a coin pocket and a pencil pocket on the side of the left thigh.

Only been wearing them a few weeks but so far I really like them. Very comfortable and the pockets are a good size for phone wallet and some tools when needed. I’ve previously worn the rip stop cargo pants but wanted to try these- comparatively these are least stiff and more comfortable. They feel thinner so time will tell if they last compared to the rip stop cargo pants.

The fit is superb. Most jeans I buy are to loose or to tight in the waist. These are perfect. The look and feel is a real comfortable fit without binding anywhere, plus an excellent price to boot. I liked them so much I bought another pair.

MY NEW JEANS DON'T SEEM TO BE AS STURDY AS MY OLD HAMMER LOOP JEANS. I REALLY USE THE SIDE POCKETS SO THIS WAS THE ONLY ONES I SAW THAT DID THAT. I DON'T USE A HAMMER LOOP ANY LONGER.

Comfortable but not a good look. Denham looks cheap not like my other Carhardt pants. I replaced an old pair of jeans which started to go throgh the knee. Before deciding what brand to buy, I looked at the numerous jeans on my hangers and determined I liked my Carhardts best. The denham is thin on my new pair and the grain runs down the leg but across the abdomen, a weird look. I decided not to return, but willl wear only inside when I don't have company. PS. Your spell check wouldn't tespond to my attemtd to correct "thrugh" sbove. Thanks for asking my opinion. Edwin

I’m disappointed i’ve been buying only Carhart for over 20 years now the materials are a lot thinner it doesn’t have all the belt loops on the backside of the pants anymore - The hoodies don’t fit well anymore the necks are way too small it chokes you i’m bummed I’m gonna have to find A different supplier of all my work clothes

Your clothes are great. My closet is full of Carhartt shirts, jeans, jackets. But because you choose to force your employees to be vaccinated in order to work, I will never purchase another Carhartt product. Your clientele is the working men and women, and you turned your back on us. Look around, nurses are quitting in droves, Canada is seeing one of the biggest protest (convoy) in history (these are people wearing your workwear), we will not be FORCED to take this Covid Vaccine. You need to consider what side you want to be on: The Working Men and Women or The Politicians? Funny....I don't see many politicians wearing your brand.

Reason I bought these were for the pocket layout and 7 belt loops like the pic shows. I was a tad bummed and ready to send these 3 pair back along with another 2 pair of different style (which pic shows 7 belt loops). If they do not reflect the pics, need to change it. My 1st choice was 7 loops and then go from there.....and this is what I got. Don't get me wrong, these are great pants....they are not what I ordered. If ya wanted to save money, do it in marketing not quality.

Fits good. Not as stretchy as Duluth which isn’t a bad thing. Waist sits perfectly low without being too baggy. Can’t speak to durability because I haven’t had them long but they appear to be well made.

Would like the hammer loop back since I do use it. As far as durability we will have to see since I just started wearing them. Quality wise, the stiching looks good, no loose threads, dye was even with no patchiness & they fit nicely. Will see how they last under tough work conditions.

These are built to the same standards/quality as the other Carhartt products I've owned, fit about the same, etc. The difference lies where, especially when they're new or fresh out of the dryer, a regular pair will squeeze or pinch until they're broken back in, these have just enough stretch in them to start off comforably.

I have been buying these jeans since you introduced them. Tough to get for a while and when they were finally in stock I jumped on them. When they arrived I was surprised to see the were not the same as previous orders. they were much darker and did not seem to be the quality, thinner material. I have come to expect high standards from Carhartt and these come up short. Looks like the country of origin has changed. Somewhat hesitant to re-order more when needed.

Easily the most comfortable jeans I’ve ever owned. Pockets are man-size, and will accommodate most edc requirements. One side pocket is large enough for an IPhone 6S Plus in an Otterbox. No hammerloop, I always cut those off, because they tend to catch on anything I walk past. The fabric has just enough “give”. I bought two pairs to try them, and then bought two more. I wear a pair every day, and my wife likes them on me. These are great jeans.

I purchased these jeans and two other rugged flex pants. They are worth every penny. As an active blue collar worker and strength athletes at 5’10” and 210lbs I have an extremely difficult time finding jeans or pants that fit my legs and move comfortably with me. These jeans are awesome if you’re a bigger guy looking for flexibility, mobility, comfort and classic Carhartt durability. You won’t be disappointed.

Sending them back. Not the same quality as your other products. I recently bought 7 pairs of pants. I am sending them all back No uniform size across styles. Original fit Dungarees do not fit like Original fit Carpenter pants. 2 pairs of Relaxed fit Dungarees had different waist and inseam fits. I do like most of the quality, I just wish your entire line was more available in stores and no don't tell me to drive an hour and a half to your nearest store. Buying online only works if you can control your consistency. I have put up with uncomfortable wear because like I said, most of the quality is good. The pants do wear well, they just don't fit based on your descriptions and your manufacturing is not consistent. I am a long time buyer who remembers better pants. Sorry, I am looking elsewhere.

I love these pants. Love the extra tool pockets for cell phone, masks, tools, etc. I love having the tool pockets on the legs without the hammer loops. Great to not have to deal with the hammer loops. They were always just in the way and these pants don't have them. The fit is just about perfect. Not so tight as to impede movement, but not so loose you feel lost in them. Now if they would just make them in 28" inseam they would be perfect! LOL

Online ordering can be difficult and I thought these were a different style than they were. I was afraid at first because the material didn't seem as thick as I had expected. After several months of heavy use, I was impressed by the durability and flexibility I had while working, whether it was fencing or crawling underneath vehicles.
