I bought this for my boyfriend as a back up to his older jacket. He loves the free movement of the arms, and the pocket on the front!!! Overall he just really likes it!

Overall I'm very happy with the jacket it's built well, solid, durable, and stands up to a.cold windy day very well. The only issue I have is that I have large wrists and I find that even with the extension inside it's a bit tight and constrictive on my wrists. When I wear my SmartWatch it's very difficult to get to it when I have the jacket on. A gusset or Velcro or elastic area would be beneficial..... I don't want to modify it but I feel like if I slit the area open it will allow for more mobility and easier access and comfort in regards to my SmartWatch and gloves etc.... With its durability and insulation comes a small price it is a heavy coat and when it gets wet from snow and rain it's even heavier... That being said I'm happy to have it to keep me warm and working...

This Full Swing Loose Fit Washed Duck Fleece-Lined Active Jacket is a good deal much more that I had hoped for. It's a great jacket for working in the cold/wet, but I wanted something much lighter weight. I already had a heaver jacket which is longer than this one. I would rate this jacket 5 stars, but I just wanted a lighter weight jacket. It's great, but a bit too much for me. It's very nice looking (Smoke color).

I've had mine for a little over a month and I'm in love with it. It's incredibly flexible and cozy while remaining tough and rugged. Can tell it's going to last me a while. The Full Swing technology is no joke, truly gives you full range of motion. Look forward to wearing it any chance I can get whether it be for work or everyday use.

Been wanting one of these Coats for a few years now. I first saw one at the Meijer's Store, but it was around Christmas Time. I was out buying presents, not buy things for myself. The next year they no longer had the Full Swing Coats and that's what I really wanted. I finally ordered one, it's even better than I remember. Lots of room for movement, lots of pockets (many more than my 20 yr. old Carthart) Hand Pockets are open for the hands, plus there are Zippered and Velcro pockets. We just had our first cold spell of the year (-11 windchill) and I was plenty warm in my coat. This coat will keep me warm for hours while out plowing snow (normally outside for 4-5 hours). I was thinking about ordering the other two colors offered when available again.

I bought the hooded full swing last year and the zipper was hard to use. I figured being new, it would become easier to use over time. It didn't. The jacket worked fine, other than letting any gust of wind penetrate. My warning is that if the zipper gives you any problems before purchase - DON'T BUY IT. A coat less than 2 years old has to be trashed. A real shame.

I bought this jacket for my husband as a gift. He absolutely loves it and wears it all the time. He's very particular about his clothing and gets really annoyed if he feels restricted, so the the full swing arms have been perfect. His only feedback is that he isn't crazy about the rib knit waist. Although he is slender and the waist doesn't impact him zipping the jacket up, he doesn't particularly like how tight it feels. He does admit that it probably helps keep out a draft- which is a must when he's working during our freezing Wyoming winters.

Bought this for my grown son and he loves it for the colder days! It is on the heavy side and does run big.If you are on the fence about what size to order, size down, but overall for work or casual this jacket should last forever!

Pros: Durable weatherproof duck exterior. Unlike some other Carhartt styles, full Zip closure keeps neck warm & Full Swing design provides great articulation without jacket riding up or pulling sleeves down. Cons: armpit flaps catch on obstacles when carrying objects in tight places and can act like shovel when on back under truck or tractor on snowy ground. Like other Carhartt styles, two front pockets provide comfortable hand warmer design, but should have a single snap at center to not collect snow or lose pocket contents while working. Overall great winter work jacket, especially paired with Zip-to-Waist Quilt Lined Duck Bibs.

This coat is a replacement to the one I have owned for 16 years. My first coat is showing signs of wear, but it continues to keep going strong. This new coat fits great thanks to the sizing help on the website. I took its recommendations and what I received was on point for fit. The new coat is everything I want that my old coat has. It fits like an oversized sweatshirt unlike the original version that makes you feel like a sumo wrestler. I love the fleece lining. It feels warmer then my classic version.

I don’t like it. I am a tradesman and need access to my belt and pockets constantly. The jacket I have purchased and worn for over 20 years was discontinued for some reason and I will need to start looking elsewhere now The pockets in my usual jacked never had anything fall out. The First day, I lost something out of one of the side pockets. The inside pockets are different and the felt lining makes it difficult to put on and causes static. I do not like the attached hood. I have a detachable hood for my old jackets that worked just fine.

Super tight on bottom and inside pocket rubs with us annoying as well. Super warm but would recommend just going with the other less expensive one.

Greatest jacket ever made!

I own about ten Carhartt jackets and this is one of my favorites. It feels good when I wear it. I'm 6' 1", 190, with relatively long arms. I went with the medium tall and the fit is just right for me. Plenty of shoulder and arm mobility. It might be a tad snug if I went with thick layering, but I prefer just a shirt underneath. The rib-knit hem at the bottom is a little snug for my liking but it does a great job holding in warmth and keeping the wind out. I might buy a second one of these jackets for a backup. I'm please with the purchase.

First choice (less expensive) was not in my size (M) ended up trying this style ($30 more) and the fit was perfect for my 6" 2" #170 frame. Could feel instant heat build up inside the jacket. Waist band and cuffs fit snugly to keep wind from getting under the waist and arms. Very little creep on the waist when bending, good motion in the arms. Ample pockets if you carry a lot of sundry items (I don't) Hood is nice with draw strings and also protects the back of your neck to some extent. This is a sturdy material for outside activity, work, brush busting when in the woods and will serve as a casual knock-about. Very pleased that my size was not available in my first choice. Final note: I tried this coat on with "T" shirt , Flannel and sweat shirt.

Great jacket! Super heavy and the gussets on the back make movement while wearing it so effortless for such a thick weight. I am 6’ exactly and a medium fits a little large on me but I’m 135lbs right now which is small for 6’.

I don't care for reviews people write as soon as they open a package, but there are some surprising things about this jacket that cause me to write just such an "inexperienced" review. First is what I consider to be amazing comfort and freedom of movement in this "full swing" design. I'm nearly 60 and simply have never had a coat that didn't bind or pull at all. Except for its significant weight, this thing is like wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt. I am astonished that I can reach across my body or overhead without any constraints at all. That's no exaggeration. It's all the more impressive because I expected to need a 2XLT, but ordered XLT on the advice of online chat. XLT is plenty roomy and the sleeves still easily reach my wrists with arms overhead (I wear a 36-37 shirt sleeve, am 6' 2", 250 lbs.). Secondly, this fabric is surprisingly soft right out of the box. This jacket is *comfortable* right now. Thirdly, though this is a warm weekend, the jacket seems warmer than I expected based on its description. I look forward to cooler weather next week to try it out. I have a number of coats and jackets from an old, established retailer in the far, far northeast US. They're great coats for more dressy use, they wear well, but they tend to run small (and get smaller as time passes and costs rise). Not so with my new Carhartts; plenty of room in the same advertised size. So my first impression is: GREAT!

Did go to brick and mortar store to ensure perfect fit prior to ordering. Ordering direct from Carhart was a breeze and order arrived promptly with no hassles.

I love everything about this jacket except the elastic at the waist. It blocks the wind beautifully and keeps me dry in the rain. The flex fit or whatever it's called is great and nice and loose in the elbows and shoulders. The only problem is that you cannot bend over without the elastic at the waist pulling right up and taking your shirt with it. This is how plumbers get that reputation, well the same is true for carpenters and farmers. So, as long as you are standing it's great, just don;t sit or bend. I wear a medium which fits perfectly in the arms and shoulders, perhaps it should be coat length?

Love the broken-in feel and the fleece lining. Super warm and durable.

The range of motion feels incredible. I have big shoulders so most coats feel tight across my upper back. In a typical coat, my range of motion feels restricted and tight. In this coat, my range of motion is as if I weren't wearing anything at all. I feel no pull whatsoever across my upper back, no matter the movement I'm trying to perform.

The arm flaps dedicated to better swing motion are a great improvement from other styles. The zipper functions well. I love the big pocket in the breast pocket of the coat.

I own a few different Carhartt jackets and sweaters; this is already one of my favorite jackets. There are three primary features that impressed me with this jacket: 1. Weight. It is heavier than expected. However, that is something I look for in a work jacket. 2. Maneuverability. I find this 'Active' jacket easy to work in. 3. Insulation. This jacket has kept me warm and if needed, I can a layer this with a hoodie. Overall, great jacket

I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of this jacket. The tight Carhartt weave keeps the wind out and keeps me warm. The Full Swing Loose Fit allows full movement without the sleeves pulling up or bunching in the shoulders when I'm extending my arms on the tractor or on my motorcycle. The 5 pockets allow carrying capacity for my extras. I really appreciate the internal zippered and the internal velcro closure pockets for the items I want secured and dry.

This jacket is the BEST fitting coat I've ever owned. Being able to drop back from a normal XL to Large, and then adding the TALL, made all the difference in the world. My biggest worry was not having sufficient arm length. Adding TALL to the order alleviated that worry. The jacket is comfortable to move in, and the construction is amazing. I'm very happy with this coat, and will be able to wear it for years.

Why does Black cost $10 more than Navy? I'd say black is more popular color so they charge us more. One other thing with the black I purchased is it collects a lot of lint and hair. Hoping that goes away as the jacket wears. I don't have that problem with an older carhartt brown one.

This jacket is amazing! I love the storm cuffs, we'll designed pockets and gusseted shoulders. It is also very warm! I am 5'8" 175lbs, my only issue is that it is long in the body and the elastic is quite tight- I reckon the elastic will loosen up and maybe a wash will allow the excess fabric to fold over. Sleeve length, however, is great.

Love very thing about it. It's looks good, it's warm and comfortable. I am concerned about the zipper gauge being light. I am sure that will determine the life of the jacket. How I get a couple years out of it.

Bought one two years ago and the zipper stopped working and I could not stand another year without a zipper again.

This coat is pretty great. Two notable downsides - it comes with an elastic drawstring to cinch the hood... When fully zipped up the tighteners basically live on your chin or in your mouth. Totally annoying and uncomfortable. I cut them out almost immediately, no need. Secondly I've found the fabric flap behind the zipper takes some special attention to keep out of the way of the zipper each time I zip the coat up. Otherwise this thing rocks! With the gussets in the shoulders I have all the space a guy could ever need. The elbows move nicely too. Worth the extra coin over the standard.

33 yo female here. Size 10. I purchased the Men's Small in the dark brown for myself because I work outside. I was told in the store that mens Carhartt jackets are made better than women's so I purchased this. The fleece lining is great. I wore it in sleet for 8 hours. It got soaked but I stayed dry and it kept me super warm, even thought it doesn't claim to be waterproof. I picked this one because I knew the wind wouldn't get inside thanks to the tight waist band.

I work maintenance on a golf course so I’m outside all the time. This coat keeps me warm under most conditions. If there is a light rain, no problem. During heavy showers I will break out the rain suit. The “Full Swing” cut is very comfortable, I never feel binding in the elbows, shoulders, or armpits. Now the fit … I am 6’1” and 190 lbs. I like my clothes loose fitting, and I do layer on colder days. I got an XLarge and the fit is perfect for me. If you need a coat for outside work, you can’t go wrong with this one. Highly recommended!

This is a great jacket. I love the full swing arm's and shoulder's as well as the deep pockets on both the inside and outside. The hood fits just right and extend's over the bill of my hat and the sides are cut out just enough so that i can see what's going on next to me. The think I love the most about Carhartt is the canvis they use. It makes for a great weather proof coat that can take a beating.

I’m a 5’2 female that weighs 120lbs who bought a size small and everything fits good besides the bottoms scrunch part. I am not sure why it was made so tight especially due to it being a men’s jacket. I purposely bought men’s to achieve a looser fit. Other than the bottom cinch, it is a great jacket that I am still super happy with.

This was the 2nd coat i bought since the c003 didn’t work out for me. I loved everything about this coat especially the full swing. It’s so easy to move in. It kept me dry as well but i wish it was just a lil warmer. It has fleece in it - like a lightweight sweatshirt fleece. I was thinking this coat was for the bitter cold temps but it’s really for the 40’s. I ended up returning this one (#103371) b/c i found it really hard to drive w/ the bulk of the hood behind my head. Even w/ it on my head, it was just not comfy for me. I was gonna return it and get the #103370 (w/o the hood) but at that time i was also looking at the wj141 - trying to find something in women’s that worked for me. So i returned this one and just kept researching carhartt. I will say though that if a sale comes up on the 103370, i would order it - it was a nice coat, but more for milder temps.

This is a terrific jacket! My husband just loves it! The full swing feature makes it so you can buy a jacket that actually fits your body yet allows you to have great range of movement.

I've always had the regular active duck jackets; and they're great jackets, but anytime you bend over or reach up with your arms they ride up. The full swing doesn't really do that. Only reason for 4 stars is I believe I'm an in between size. Carhartt said I'd be a large ( I'm 5' 10" tall, 175 lbs), I decided to go with a medium instead because I know they're stuff runs big. It's almost a perfect fit; sleeve length is perfect, still have a little extra room in the chest and belly area when zipped up, it's just a little snug around the waist.

It was a gift for my Dad and he absolutely loves it! He wears it almost everyday and says it’s the warmest and most durable jacket he’s had.

Great fit, lot’s of warmth

I had my last Carharrt 14 years...as a casual multipurpose jacket more than anything but, it saw the world of a redneck! It went to restaurants, endless off-roading sessions, it hunted, changed the oil, chopped wood, brawled, was attacked by a Pitbull (with me in it) it even went to a funeral (remember, I'm a redneck)...I did everything BUT work in it...my job is in a 100 degree factory, year round, so no need for a jacket in there! Anyway, it had it's share of slag-holes from welding, but it is still back there in need of a zipper, that just gave-up last month. So the other day I decided it was time to finally buy another Carharrt jacket, and I worried, "Do they still make them as well as they used too?"...as so much has changed in the world, and seldom for the better. Luckily for me my store was out of the regular jacket in my size, and so I had to opt for the "FullSwing" Active. It's frigid here in Indy and I didn't make it out of the parking-lot before putting it on in the truck. My answer to "do they still make them as well" was instantly answered when I reached for the steering-wheel of my truck...SO MUCH BETTER! This thing is heavier than my old one, obviously just as tough and well made, but it was like I didn't have a jacket on when I reached for that steering wheel! No restriction of motion whatsoever! That's some cool stuff! When I got home I reached over my head, out to my sides, for my shoe-laces...all as effortless as reaching for the wheel. Who would have ever thought so much awesome engineering could go into something like a jacket, and make that huge a difference? I'm very impressed, and I'm never impressed. My only complaint is that I wish more stores stocked the large-guy sizes, in full array, such-as this jacket in the tall. I'm 6'2, 280 pounds. The 2XL fits me well enough, save for the length, but that's more a sore thing (Meijer) than a manufacturer thing. I'm not the kinf=d of person that returns things for any reason, so Im'ma keep it but, I hate having to settle all the time. I have a size 15 foot, so I get it there all the time too. Life. BUY THIS JACKET! And any other Carharrt product...you can't go wrong spending a little more for something that will last five x's longer!

This is the perfect jacket. Heavy without being bulky and the Full Swing is no joke; I can move around and work normally without any binding, twisting, or pulling from this jacket. Very well made and comfortable. Fantastic coverage and design on the sleeves with the angled cut and interior rib-knit cuffs. Interior pockets are a nice touch as well, especially the zippered pocket. I absolutely love this jacket! I am 5'10" and 172 lbs. and the size Medium is perfect!

After a few days of wearing it, I cannot get the zipper started without looking down to see what I'm doing. The zipper is to small and is fussy to get locked in to zip up. This jacked really needs a big manly zipper, especially if you're wearing gloves. I would of gave it 5 stars if it wasn't for the wimpy zipper. Besides that, it's a nice HD warm jacket.

It is pretty good, definitely should be got on sale. I think the full price is to much but the sale price is not to bad. I live in California where it gets to be around 25F at the coldest part of the Winter. It is around 40F in the morning now and it is working good with just a t shirt. I think once it is around 25F I am going to need a t shirt, hoody, and the jacket. It has good pockets, nothing special though.

This was a gift for my son, who works outside. It is perfect for him. Not too bulky, but warm and seems like it will hold up well. The fabric is tough enough not to rip when you are handling limbs, brush and clearing briars. I am very pleased with this jacket.

A great coat, more comfortable than a more typical (non full swing) Carhartt, but just as well made and durable. My only negative comment is this coat has a lighter zipper than any of my other Carhartts. It works fine now, but seems the more traditional heavier zipper might be better in the long run. I do recommend this coat, and already have.

Warmest jacket ever! I love the fleece lining is so soft and the outer layer is great protective material and blocks wind. True to size and tight rubbed cuff in bottom hem and sleeves Keep all cold and wet weather out.

I bought this to replace my previous Carhartt jacket from 8 years ago. What I've noticed is that your zippers are much cheaper now. The pockets were redesigned to be smaller. Overall, I'm happy with it as a jacket but you've lost my loyalty, I'm checking out other brands...

This was bought as a gift for my son. He loves it. It keeps him warm.

I would recommend this coat for comfort and to keep you warm. I went back and forth with this coat and the one with a thicker inner lining. I’m happy with my choice Fits good and isn’t stiff at all like some times of coats. Would buy again

I purchased this in "Gravel" and I am happy with the color. The sleeve/cuff design is something that was different from my traditional jacket. The movement is much better. Very happy with this purchase.

I have owned dozens of Carhartt jackets over the years this is truly the best jacket Carhartt has ever made it feels like you've been wearing it for years you have lots of room to move in it and lots of pockets in and out too bad it's not made in the USA

I'm definitely happy with my purchase of the full swing armstrong active jac. It fits me perfectly and keeps me warm while I'm in the bucket and on the ground. I'm generally in temperatures around 32°f for the season and am having no problem staying warm. Best thing about it is that I can lift, bend and twist without the jacket rising above my waist. It's great.

My husband loves his new jacket. He is normally a size large at 5’11”. He finds the large tall size in this jacket gives him that extra arm length while he’s on the job and working outside. The jacket is a huge hit. The best Christmas present. Delivery was so much sooner than we anticipated and service from Carharrt has been great.

Sturdy jacket, and warm enough. Bottom ribbed section is on the tight side though.

Bought my first Carhartt jacket 20 years ago. This one is my replacement for it. Not the same, better. Better hood, better pockets( insulated), more pockets. I’m pleased with the jacket and would have all my friends buy one.

The fleece lining is comfortable, and the wrist cuffs are designed to keep in warmth while remaining comfortable. This jacket is great for work, but still looks good enough to wear out on the town at night.
