Bought these for my husband and he loves them. Comfort and fit are excellent. Wish the pockets had zipper or snap closure, but otherwise happy. Would recommend these and would certainly buy again.

Exactly what I’ve come to expect and love In Carhartt overalls. I must say that I prefer the original two snap pocket on the bib as opposed to the zipper and unsecured pockets. But still the best overalls I’ve ever worn.

Love my new carhartt bibs. I give them five stars on everything, except functionality. The front pockets are so short, my wallet sticks out a little. Sciatica, makes me carry my wallet in my front pocket now days. And I've never had a problem with enough room until this model. I also wish you would bring back the sage color in this model, as I would then have to buy another pair.

The pictures on the Carhartt website show the old style bibs with the snap closure bib pocket. What was shipped which is what is in the stores around here, the new zipper closure which doesn’t work at all for my pens scribes and pencils. There is also now a hem on the cuffs perfect for catching sparks while welding and catching me on fire. Some of us still wear Carhartts for work, not just lounging around the Portland coffee shops. Very poor design changes seemingly made solely for fashion.

the new style bib overalls pockets a good from the waist up but the lowerpockets are useless. everything you put in them will fall out when you sit down. i have lost several nice case pocket knives and hip pocket are way to shallow also. old style lower pockets were best. i like elastic waistband. sizes need to be stated more accurately and be the same all the time instead of different with each order.

I was a Union Laborer Local # 261 SFO for almost thirty years, I bought my first pair of Carhartt Bib Overalls in 2005 after I bought a new Scion xB to try and keep it clean. I believe they are the best product on the market today. There just as well made today as then. They switched the pockets around a bit and put the hammer holder on the right side now. I think you may want to put the hammer holder on the middle back of the waist. That way left or right handers can use it and it won’t bang your knee when you walk. I would definitely recommend these overalls. John C

I love the look an extra pockets but I’ve been wearing Carhart for 15 years and never had so many issues with that over to the shoulder straps getting them on and off it’s extremely frustrating it’s so tight on these ones it’s like a puzzle to get the clasp out

Front zip pocket fits smart phone with otter box case very well. Comfortable and easy to bend at knees. They run VERY true to size, so if you’re looking for a looser fit, I would suggest going a size up otherwise the waist will feel tight around waist like a pair of jeans. I’m 5’10” and the 30” inseam was perfect. The brass clips for the shoulder straps could be finished a little better. When clipping and unclipping, there’s a lot of fumbling going on. The sharp edges make the clip snag. I might be able to remedy this by using a small file on the edges but this clip issue is such a minor complaint that I will still give these bibs a 5 star review. These are my favorite piece of clothing right now. LOVE THEM!

Strange Clasps and Straps but Overall Nice Product

Bought these for my dad, who wears big & tall sizes, and lives in a competitor's jean overalls. We went on a trip to Utah in late winter, and he needed something a little warmer, but not lined. These overalls wash well, haven't faded much (we don't put them in the drier), and were reasonably warm for the 40 degree weather. The did still shrink slightly. Unfortunately, the strange straps and closure clasps make them difficult to get on and off, especially for my arthritic father. Also, we ordered one size larger and longer to account for previous reviews on sizing, which was great. (Dad is 6'1" 350 usually 52x30 and we got 54x32)

I’ve been a customer for 25 years this is the first year that I will no longer buy a Carhart product due to the fact of your reengineering of coveralls that was a great product was the stupidest thing a company could do. Carhart was once made for the workingman and now you’ve just become another hipster accessory! The biggest mistake was to turn your back on your core costumers!

I strongly dislike these bibs. Without the leg zipper there's no point to owning them. I guess they are good for someone else. I Gave them to my son. Bring back the leg zipper please!!

These overalls fit great from the start and seems to wear in really well. I ordered 36wx32L. They were long at first. I have washed these about 3 times so far and they have shrunk a little bit. The other overall colors from Carhartt that I have - have been washed more than a dozen times and those have shrunk a lot. I will have to learn to maybe not use hot water or maybe not dry on high...but regardless, they are wearing in fine. I'm losing weight with them so it seems to be working out for me. But if you get them and they are just right and you don't lose weight, you can expect very significant shrinkage of the overalls...both in length and in waist. I have read many complaints about the pockets but I think they are great. The chest pockets hold my box cutter, pencil, pen and marker, cell phone and drill bit extenders (all day long). They will never fall out unless you unbuckle your straps. My side pockets are great for my Felco cutters (without a sheath). Back pockets hold my wallet and my front pockets hold my keys. My black ones are second favorite. The dark brown ones are the best, the blue ones and the khaki ones are just your average work wear. I really get down for work with construction of many different trades and as a working man, these overalls are really tough. After 3 years, still no tears. but I am very careful about the knees - I always use knee pads. I love wearing my overalls - even when I'm not working. Comfortable and best of all - No butt crack ever (can I say that on here) I will continue to buy if these ever become too dirty or worn out.

I've been a Carhartt guy for over 35 years, these new bibs are a JOKE!!! Please go back to the original R01. The new "cell phone pocket" is a waste, makes the two chest pockets to short. The front pockets are to shallow! and what is with changing the straps!!? Disappointed that Carhartt has gone cheap like the rest of the industry! The elastic on the side was a nice addition and the double cuff at the bottom has helped from the wear. Bibs are meant for work not fashion, please remember that Carhartt!

The fact that I've been wearing carhartt bibs for probably 25 years, I dare say, says it all. And as much as I hate change, these actually make sense. Well thought out and a significant improvement. I don't work much anymore, but I still wear them pretty much everyday.

My boyfriend hasn’t taken these off since they arrived in the mail. Fit was just like a normal pair of pants and they get that normal Carhartt softness once they’ve been worn a few times. There are a ton of pockets, zippered and not for all of the tools, but they also look casual enough that he doesn’t look like he just came off the job if he wears them in public.

Horribly disappointed. I have been buying these overalls since 2006, and just recently had to start ordering online because locally they stopped carrying a mens size small enough for me and i dont like the pockets on the womens. The last time i ordered a 30x30 and they were fine. This time i saw 28x30 available which is smaller so i thought perfect and ordered them. They showed up, there is a big 3-4” cuff/hem on the bottom and they fit horribly. It honestly looks like they took a long pair and hemmed them resulting in the torso being way too long and hanging off even with the straps adjusted as short as they can be, and the waist pockets are way too low, they sit on my thighs now making them super awkward to use and the whole thing is awkward fits horrible looks unprofessional and functions horribly. I really expected more out of carhartt than to slap something like this together and may need to start looking for a new brand if i cant get something that fits me, in the meantime i am stuck with these

the bib overalls are great for construction workers but we did have an issue with the lenghth, they were supposed to be 28 in and when we took them to be hemmed they were only 25 1/2 inches.

Have been wearing Carhartt products for over 50 years. Recently bought a pair of bib overalls and am very disappointed to find that the strap fasteners on the new ones are now very inferior. Perhaps because of cheaper metal or poor stamping they are harder to fasten. Otherwise, still a great product.

Good quality but fit could be much better. My old ones fit perfectly the new ones are same size but the new ones the bib portion fits much higher. Suspender straps seam to be longer and cannot pull bib up tight like the old. New material seams to be more flexible, see how it wears

While I REALLY like these bibs, the only real problem I have with them (other than getting them "broken in"), is the front pockets are way too shallow. When I lay down to work under vehicles or sinks, everything in my front pockets falls out. I don't have this problem with my "regular" Carhartt bibs.

Buckles broke on the third day of wearing them. Carhart quality has gone down substantially and I will not be supporting them anymore!

Redesigned. Have worn the same size for 20 years and these are 6 in. longer at the seam and top is longer as well, at max adjustment.

I have been a loyal customer for over 20 years. I have always loved the style and quality up to this latest iteration of bib overalls.I liked the new chest pocket configuration, especially the large zipper pocket. My biggest complaint is related to the front pockets, they are way too shallow (I have had items fall out of pocket when sitting) and the watch pocket is way too deep (basically useless). I have also noticed the elastic in the shoulder straps have frayed after only a month of wear. I still love my Carhartts but hope these issues will be address soon.

These are solid & fit is good. I'm 5'4 & ordered a 36/28 in black. Original size is 35 so ordered a size up. Only down side is I wish the length would go to a 26/27 for the shorter adult men. It's hard enough finding sizes for us ?? Will be ordering more products in the future

I have worn R01 bibs since 1962, construction worker. This update is a disaster. Worst pocket design imaginable, they fill up with debris, and items fall out. Accessory pockets are now awkward to use, too low. Chest pockets have no snaps, notebook falls out. The zipper pocket is superfluous. The only deficiency in original R01 was the double knees should have been chap style like the B01 pants.

The new changes are great but I miss the old classic bibs Haven’t had long enough to give real assessment of durability but new reinforcements seem solid . Down side is the pockets are way too shallow, the fabric seems a lot thinner and the price has jumped

Great overalls with USELESS front hand pockets

I challenge the employee who ok'ed the front hand pocket design on this overall to wear one, put keys in one pocket and some change in the other, then get in their vehicle and drive around the block, then look us customers in the eye and tell us that they are good. I bet your pockets will be empty within that short trip because of how SHALLOW those 2 pockets are. They are decoration only because they will not even cover a fisted hand. After extending the pockets 5 inches and making them actually usefull, I now have the perfect overalls. The material is awesome, the design is great, the fit is perfect (6ft 200lbs, 36x34 size), the elastic is in the best places to keep them comfortable no matter what angle you happen to find yourself in, and the rest of the pockets other than the HORRIBBLE front hand pockets are very useful. The only thing I would change (other than the tiny hand pockets that I did change) would be to add a dark green option, because I need more colors.

I really love these overalls! They are thick, strong, and comfortable. Great for layering on top of base layers for warmth. I had to buy 3 times because they run so big. I finally got the right size for me.

I am very upset with the “upgraded” design. And why would carhartt discontinue the original version of these? As your description mentions above, this is an update of your classic bibs that so many of us have grown to rely on. I’ve been a union boilermaker for 14 years and I absolutely depend on my bibs to keep me safe from welding burns and also from the weather. I wear carhartt jeans under my bibs and I wear carhartt long sleeve t shirts every day I work. I work summers in Alaska and spend the rest of my time working in refineries in Montana or constructing water towers in the greater Seattle area. I wanna talk to the “work experts” that were consulted for the new design. Trying something new is ok, but it is a shame that you removed the classic style completely. Most notably, the new design has smaller, uncomfortable hand pockets and will barely hold my every day work items, which aren’t very big. Why would you make smaller pockets on work cloths? You decided to swap sides of the leg pockets for some reason which seems like a useless change- I’m happy there are still pockets there but the change is an inconvenience. The reinforced cuffs are the only real upgrade. The stretchy waist thing doesn’t help me at all- seems like a waist of money- get it? Ha. Ha. Even the buckle things seem different and are harder to get on and off. Wow what a terrible thing to happen, I can’t believe carhartt would let us down so bad. Bring back the old style please because I cannot work in these and I’m returning them ASAP.

What happened to having pockets? The pockets on these are so shallow you can't put anything in them. Overall carhartt is going downhill. Constantly changing styles, discontinuing items that were popular and comfortable. Quality certainly has gone downhill. Coworker ordered a different bib from carhartt and it had same issues with the pockets and quality.

I would not recommend this product. The undated product was way better. The pockets , very shallow stuff just falls out ? chest pockets very shallow, stuff just falls out ? The suspender clips ? low quality, or redesigned they just dont work well. I like the change to the hammer loop and the reinforced cuffs. I wish I could get my money back . I bet durability is compromised also unfortunately. We know we know it's better, but it's not.

I normally wear 32x34 pants and am 5’11 weighing about 160 pounds. I ordered a 32x32 bib overalls. They were initially a little shorter than I’d like, but I easily adjusted the straps to lengthen the legs until they broke in and stretched out. A great piece of work clothing. Lots of pockets, great durability, sturdy design. I will definitely order another pair once these eventually wear out.

It's almost perfect. Only problem is I'm 6 foot 5 so I got the tall version. I have very long legs, however the shoulder straps can only be adjusted to be half as short as much material there is. There should be a way to shorten them all the way for a better fit. I still wear them bc I'm just taping the straps. So everything is perfect just wish you could make them tighter

Unfortunately I had to order a size larger, due to my size being "out of stock". My wife suggested washing in hot water and drying on hot setting. This worked to make it a "almost proper fit". Otherwise I'm very happy with them.

Accurate description of the all the upgrades to this new bib. Carhartt quality at it's best. Front pockets are very shallow, I feel if I put something in them it's going to get lost. Any idea of the reasoning for such shallow front pockets?

I get 1 to 2 years of HARD daily use out of my Carhart's, I have three pair that I rotate to spread out the wear. I have noticed over the years that the straps tend to stretch and lose elasticity over time, which is to be expected, however after they redesigned the adjustment buckles several years ago, they tend to slip and need frequent readjustment. Also, with my new pair I had 1 strap end that slipped out of the buckle at the first use. It was just poorly secured. I was able to open the clasp and re secure it rather than return that set. I have simply noticed over the years that though the Carhart's themselves are well made the clasps and fasteners have gotten cheaper and more prone to failure. That said I will purchase Carhartt's again when I wear these out, they are still better than their competition for me.

I purchased this item and within one week of regular use the stitching came undone on the middle chest area. I am a pipefitter and for this week I was prepping and cutting pipe without any heavy welding or exposing the overalls to extreme heat. I took them home and exactly a week after purchase, in the morning I felt the cold coming through my overalls, low and behold there is 1” hole and the stitching is clearly coming undone. The overalls are nice looking and very comfortable but overall the durability and quality of the product is laughable. Do not recommend.

I ordered these in a 32” waist and a pair or pants in 32” waist. The overalls fit great and the pants where to tight. I like the overalls except for the legs are much more big than the look in the picture so there’s pretty loose around the ankle but they are very comfortable.

This was a Christmas gift and unfortunately it was too small so will need to be returned. My husband has worn a 34 inch waist for years so I bought the 34 and it is tight. Additionally the metal connections for the straps over the shoulder in the front are a bit difficult to connect. The quality is good so I am hoping for a hassle-free exchange-- yet to be seen

The overalls are a bit tighter than what I expected but not a big problem. The only issue I had was that the elastic side are not black like it showed on the pictures. I liked the idea of the black contrast and I was disappointed when it wasn’t there. It’s a small issue so I just kept the overalls

First off the zipper was broken, not sure how that passed quality control but I can’t for the life of me get the zipper to move. It won’t work with finessing and it won’t work with yanking.. Going from a 32x32 to a 34x34 seems to be going up two sizes. Pencil pockets are too short and left breast pocket seems like it should hold a phone (in my case an iPhone 11 Pro with an otter box case) but it is slightly too tight and short to be useful. I like that if I put my phone there it wouldn’t fall out, but i don’t have that problem on a different pair of overalls from a different company that isn’t as tight. Straps are very long, shortening them all the way left them feeling baggy and I’m a lanky 6’2”. Rivet design/placement is poor so don’t forget and sit in a wooden chair. Cause, you know, high end clients love when you scratch the heck out of their antique chair. Lower butt pocket rivets are just not a good idea. Overall the material seems sturdy, and it’s possible my zipper was just a one off defect but all said and done this is not the product for me.

I bought these for one of my 17 year old twins. He loves them so much that we had to tell him not to wear them every day, haha. They are great for us as we live on a farm, but he also wears them to school. He was helping replace a tin roof the other day and thought he had ripped them, but they were fine. SUPER DURABLE!!! Hands down the best purchase of the year thus far.

These are for my 18 yo son, who says they are far better than 5 stars. He is 6' 8" and 190lbs. They are long enough and have plenty of room to wear a sweatshirt and jeans underneath (although he is all lean muscle). Excellent quality, and due to his height, the fact that the shoulder straps have limited adjustment is not an issue. No Velcro anywhere, and all seams reinforced and multiple layers of excellent quality canvas on wear areas.

Great quality, cannot be beat at this price.

I feel the fit is perfect, just the right size. I ordered some other companies overalls to compare and they were twice the price for lower quality hardware and a baggy crotch. My only issue is washing and drying these things. Hanging dry doesn't do a great job and using the dryer is a no go. This is only an issue if I need to wear them two days in a row, but I'd love to know of a drying solution beyond having a second pair.

Overalls are comfortable and fit perfect with the normal sizes I wear from carhartt. My only gripe is that the pocket on the right leg couldn’t accommodate a bigger phone and the pen pockets on the front aren’t quite deep enough. Other than that, once they come back in stock, I will be buying more.

TL;DR These pants stopped a chainsaw from cutting my leg open. I purchased these overalls for general work around our small farm, and home projects. Much of the time we are cutting down trees and splitting wood for next season. As I was cutting up branches, the blade caught a branch and bumped into my leg while the blade was running and grabbed my pant leg, at which point I killed the engine and dropped the saw. The saw barely cut through the reinforced front layer and the inner layer wasn't even touched! These bib overalls saved me from potentially going to the hospital. I would recommend them to anyone using a chainsaw, hands down.

They really nice but the first day he wore them the shoulder clip thing came off and it was hard to get back on. Just try to make sure the clip for bottom is on close so it don't come off.

Why did you change the front pockets? The cut away does not work for guys that have to get on a creeper under vehicles. Stuff falls out of your pockets. We have been faithful customers for 25 years. We have figured out a way to add to the pocket to help keep stuff in there. It would be nice to be able to order the old style. I have been searching other companies and bought a couple pair. But prefer the carharts, go back to the old style.

I've worrn Carhartt R-08 for 35 years and when I went to get more can't get them. I checked out what options were there at Carhartt and bought two pair of relax fit they are well made but very heavy to ware I am 72 years old I am Retired and ware them for comfort not word I don't need the double leg it adds to much weight. theR07 does not have elastic suspenders

Excellent well made product. Shipping was fast too. If you’re like me and have carrharts that are 15+ years old, don’t base your sizing decision on your old ones. My old bibs were 44’s and still fit great my new ones are 40’s and they too fit great. Just something to consider.

I like the zippered pocket up top to keep the phone close and safe. It also allows you to feel it vibrate I would suggest that anyone who wants to use the knee pads, to just buy the large ones as the smalls size always fall to one side defeating their purpose. I ended up tossing them because it was so frustrating to keep adjusting the pads while wearing them. I wish they had a loop on each side to hold other tools while tree cutting. Overall they wear well and fit great.

These cotton duck bibs have been my go to for 24 years now in the winter. Unfortunately they’ve been recently redesigned and I’ll be looking elsewhere. The front pockets are now too shallow and things fall out of them when you sit down, but the most annoying problem is the elastic suspenders that readjust themselves whenever you carry tools in the pockets or bend over. I’m tired of spending all day keeping the straps adjusted! Luckily I have one pair of the old design left and I’m depending on them to get me through until spring. It’s too bad, 24 years of loving the product and now I can’t stand them!

I bought these to wear over my scrubs so I could ride my motorcycle to work and not have to change clothes but just take these off. I got hit going about 70mph and I didn't even have the shoulder straps on I was wearing them as pull on pants, they stayed on, they have a few small rips in them but nothing big enough to stick your pinky through. I have zero road rash and no cuts or debris damage to my legs or butt. Not only do they look cool and have been a bar outfit for me in the past when I felt like not dressing up and just being myself but they're great functionality wise, I wouldn't want to do manual labor in them but that's a personal preference. Couldn't recommend anything more durable aside from maybe thick leather. They're a one size fits most kind of garment, they're comfortable 95% of the time. Wish the zipper was bigger so it was easier to relieve myself but other than that zero complaints or recommendations.

I bought pairs of Carhartt bibs for my husband. he is 58 and has been buying Carhartt scents he was 18 teen. They have changed a lot. The biggest thing he does not like so fare on these ones is the Hammer loop being on the right side. They were all ways on the other side. But there are changes he likes like the Exter patch on the front of legs is longer and goes up higher, he also like the straps they do not slip of him as easy as they did before.

Get rid of that zipper pouch and put the old button pockets back on it. The leg pockets are shallow and I'm afraid of losing stuff when you lay down on a creeper. Other than that they are great. Made the double knee go all the way up the leg and fit great. Just can't stand the zipper pouch.

I have an earlier edition of these overalls without the zip fly on the front. Super comfortable and knowing the canvas that Carhartt uses they should last a good while. My only issue is that I can't fit a 12oz can of my beverage of choice for the evening in the pockets on the front. would make them the perfect weekend warrior's for getting greasy and staying cozy if so. 4/5

Hate the zipper!! It is always getting caught on everything, plus items not accessible in tight spaces. My husband has worn this style bibs for over 20 years. If memory serves me correctly, this was tried before. The new style may be great for those that don't have to crawl in, up, under, or work laying down in their work environment. If you are just standing or bending over they would probably be great. Please offer the old snap/rivet style also.

My husband bought 2 pairs of Carharrt Duck bib Overalls 7 years ago. It's taken this long for them to wear out! After following site instructions for size, it seemed wiser to check with the size tag still attached to the worn-out pair. Well --the label read larger by 4 inches. And because his chest is much larger than his waist, I ordered the same size as the 7-year old pair. But when the new ones arrived, and he tried on the new pair, the ones were too big.. So I washed them in warm water and dried them in the drier . They shrank, so now the widths of the old and new pairs are comparable, even though the new ones are mite too short. I phoned Customer Service and had no trouble returning the extra new pair, the unwashed and unshrunk pair still in original packaging with tags. The other minor changes are improvements --like the zipper front pocket. Now I won't worry about him dropping his cell phone.

The next pair I ordered fit perfectly - BUT I forgot to order the bibs with the zippers from the thigh to the bottom - so I had to send them back. Again, Carhartt was wonderful. The THIRD time I ordered, I got it right - right size, ordered the zippers on the legs - They now fit perfectly, they have zippers and he is a happy camper!!! My husband is a welder. He swears by these overalls. Not only for work, but he was recently in a very bad motorcycle accident caused by someone else. He was wearing these overalls. The injuries internally to his body was very bad! The external injuries were minimal. The only areas he received any injury were the areas not covered by these overalls. There was one hole in the overalls knee caused by the wreck! I definitely plan on replacing these overalls once he is cleared to return to work. Unfortunately it won't be for a very long time!

A pair of Carhartt overalls was on my sons Christmas list. I purchased the navy; great color! The quality is top notch. Needless to say, he was very happy with his overalls. The fit was perfect, all but the length. My sons needs at least a 38". He wanted a pair so bad, he wasn't complaining. So, the only negative is that they don't come in anything longer than a 36" inseam.

I'm new-ish to the construction industry. Roofer. This is a great spring-summer-fall coverall. I did have some fraying on the flap that covers the fly. Wasn't too thrilled with that. But it could be from all the time ive spent laying under a wall. The toggles on the straps took some getting used to. They hold together really really well and ive never had them come undone. Which is great. But make sure you're not in a hurry when trying to get undone for a bathroom break. All in all a great covvie! Will definitely buy again. Not sure about how the kneepad compatible feature is supposed to work.

1st of all I love the Brand and I am overall happy with the Bibs. 2 things can be improved on. The clips on the overalls that secure the shoulder strap could be better designed to make it easier for on and off. The bigger improvement that needs to be made is to the hip pockets. They are not deep enough to hold common tools or work gloves securely. Stitching and quality were up to standard. I do wish they were made in the US.

I purchased these a little over a year ago. They are very well made. However, the 30 length I purchased has shrunk almost 2 inches just by washing in cold and hang drying which has been a bit concerning. That's the reason for 2 stars.

Carhartt claims they stop making the denim overalls with stretch straps I think called r01 because of no demand ! ITS A LIE ! TRUTH is they downgraded material, got rid of straps and raised the price ! That way people would have to buy more often because the new style only last half the time !!! So after 25 years me and family and others have to find new brand ! We think we have found one and with the stretch straps I will keep everyone updated !

It’s thin. Really good for homeowners I guess. But these will be trashed in less then a week doing masonry. Also the pockets are great if you have children’s hands. The depth of them will make sure you lose everything down below your truck seat. Also carhartt needs to bring back the Sherpa lined pants that zipped to the knee.

Carhartt went from the best to the worst bib overall with this redesign. The front pockets are a joke, they are like a shirt sheeted bed, then there’s the fat man belly stretch panel and all the extra fabric - looks like a kangaroo without a joey. I’ve worn the same size for 25 years, these things are big enough for two people my size. The suspender clips are just miserable. Then there’s this stupid zipper and again with the short pockets on the chest - completely useless for a small flashlight, pencil and engineers ruler. I’d donate them, but I hate to treat others poorly - so I’ll probably toss them unworn, patch the patches on my 4 pairs of original Carhartt bibs and buy a pair of Dickies… hello? Anybody at corporate listening? These things suck!

This is my first pair of bibs [of any kind] in many years, I also fairly new to Carhartt. I mostly LOVE these things. I like the comfort of bibs, not having anything tight around the waist, or having to keep pulling up pants. These fit great, and are comfortable, and don’t find my movements restricted. I love the insertable knee pads. My knees don’t like being kneeled on any more. I like that these pads are always with me, without any thought. They are also more comfortable than any seperate knee pads I have worn. It is too soon to know how durable they will be, but they look well made and appear as if they will last well. I do HATE the fastening system for the over the shoulder straps.

Just got a pair of the black unlined overalls and wow has the quality gone down. I have had a few pairs of Carhartt overalls so I can tell the difference, all the pockets are smaller, the shoulder straps do not stay secured, the elastic waistband is already tearing after one wash, the leg width is way more baggy. I loved my old overalls and it's just really sad seeing the quality go down so much. Definitely going to start looking for a new overall alternative :(

I’ve had these overalls for about six months now, and my only complaint is, The front pockets are so shallow You have to take your phone and everything out of them before You can bend over or squat down so stuff won’t poke into your stomach. I’ve been a Carhart fan for 20 years and still have jackets from that long ago. I am Sure these overalls will last that long too but the pockets are almost making them like some kind of fashion overalls and I need them to be able to hold my phone and things I need for work. Please let me know if if you have similar overalls with deeper pockets Thank you

I have worn these for 20 years almost daily and hate the new design. The elastic sides are a pain to button up, the strap buckles are difficult to connect and disconnect, the fit is not the same, and the overly tall leg cuffs needed to be cut to fit over my boots. Carhartt has ruined this design and I will not likely buy another pair unless they bring back the original design.

I bought the black bibs. I wear 34x32 in jeans, I bought 38x32. I washed and dried them, they fit perfect. They are a little loose so I can bend over, and they don't ride up. The bottom of the bibs don't slide over my boot. I like the new design. Pocket are shallow, but it make them easy to get into. I know your not suppose to wash and dry them, but eventually you will have to wash them when they get to dirty, so I wanted to make sure of the fit are wash and dry.

These are perfect. I couldn't find my size locally so I shopped around for other manufacturers. Everything else is thin, flimsy, and garbage. These are what you want. Uninsulated for summer, insulated for winter. Don't waste your money with anything else. And unlike the other brands I tried which fit funny, the fit on these is true.

These overalls have some good aspects to them: tough material; pencil pockets; tool pockets; double front. Carhartt needs to add some other features for these to be great overalls: crotch gusset for ease of motion; boot zipper; lower zipper fly so that you can actually use it when you need to... you know what I mean. Durability is pretty good. They wear out in the crotch and knees first for me (maybe I'm kneeling and squatting a lot on site). A crotch gusset would help with the wear in the crotch area. I have a longer torso than typical, and it seems as if Carhartt designs these for guys with longer legs rather than longer torsos, so I always need to get these bib overalls a lot longer than I "should" because otherwise they ride like a beast.

So, my husband has been wearing Carhartt’s for 20 years. He has a pair of overalls that are about … 15 years old … and was finally ready to break -in a new pair. Unfortunately, the sewing quality is not as good on the new pair as on the old. The stitching on both sides underneath the side buttons is already coming unstitched.

The front hip pockets are way to small, you can't put even standard tools in them without them falling out. There the same type of pockets that are on women's Jean's. The back pockets are also small as well. Other than the pockets, the fit is just right.

I am a female cabinet maker and have been wearing double front duck bib overalls on a daily basis for years. This was the first time I've gone to replace my overalls and found the sizing so significantly changed that they do not fit any more. I am 5'9, 140 lbs and always order two sizes: 30W 30L and 32W 30L (for when I want to wear long underwear with them). I was shocked that both of these sizes no longer fit! I ordered multiple colors, navy, brown and denim, all in the same sizes, and each was it's own unique fit problem. The inseams were all slightly different, so the knee seam hits differently on each pair. The seat and legs were not the same. The elastic straps that tighten the bib to the right length were too long, even when tightened as far as possible, so the bib hangs loose and would not sit on my shoulders. It's like they were re-designed for a barrel chested person with pencil legs. I went to the store to try them on and see if this was the case there, and found that sizing was all over the board there as well. After having spent a good amount of time now just trying to replace this basic staple of my work wardrobe, I am extremely disappointed with this new inconsistency and won't be wearing Carhartt any longer. This is a sad goodbye.

These relaxed fit overalls are my favorites. They wear well and are comfortable. I would love to see a version of these that are made to wear as stand alone pants and not over other pants. I never wear them over other pants and that makes them way too baggy and the crotch is way too low.

While these are durable, functional, and have nice appearance, the fabric shrinks tremendously upon the very first laundry experience. (I didn’t dare dry a second time!). They shrunk up so high I had to let the entire hem out and stitch the bottom edge so it didn’t fray. I don’t think I’ll be buying them again or if I do, I will choose a longer length.

I would like to suggest that this item could be ordered through a local retail store (Marks) to save on delivery charges. I buy one every Christmas but this year, could not find a store that could even order in bibbed overalls in 36 inch inseam so I had to order directly from Carhartt. Given that I buy a pair every year for a carpenter/contractor, that’s how long they last.

I've been wearing carhartt overalls to work for the last years or so. I got a pair of the newly redesigned model last year. The new design sucks! The hip pockets are so small I can't even fit my hands in them. They moved the hammer loop over to the other side thus negating 25 years of muscle memory handling my hammer. The bib clasps are more difficult to use, and I don't need a zipper on the bib pocket. I am currently investigating other brands, I'll never buy another pair of carhartt bibs again.

Terrible bibs!! I've been wearing the side zip bibs for 15 years and they stopped making them. I bought these hoping they'd be as good, NOPE. They feel like they were made to look cool, not work good. The side stretch won't fit right with a sweatshirt underneath, the side pockets are half the size as they were before, might fit your makeup but definitely not your tools. I'm very disappointed that I have to start looking for a new brand. I was a big fan.

They're just as expected, my only issue isn't with the product itself but I accidentally ordered them too short and didn't realize until after I washed and wore them to work. They do shrink after washed so keep that in mind when ordering.

Overall fit seems to be accurate. The material and construction seems to be sturdy enough. Time will tell. I do not like the new way to attach the straps. They are aggravating and hard to attach and undo. They also catch hair and anything else they can. Go back to the old style with buttons. The leg pockets are way too shallow. Barely get a hand in them.

Great funciton, fit, etc. I have 2 beefs with these overalls. 1 is the size of the knee pad pockets. I have 3 pairs of Carhartt pants and 2 pairs of Carhartt overalls and they all have their own dedicated Carhartt knee pad inserts which I leave in full time (they're washable). The bottom of the pocket sits too high on the leg so when I hit my knees to do something, the bottom of the pads just cover my kneecap while 95% of the rest of the pad covers my upper leg. I then have to pull the pant leg down in order to get the pad to cover my knee. And because the pocket is so large, when I do wash these, the pads then move around, flip around, even roll up into a ball, and I have to spend time adjusting. I have this problem on BOTH pairs of coveralls, I don't find either of these issues on any of the 3 pairs of pants I use these pads with. My 2nd beef is with the right side leg pocket. These seemed to have been designed pre-smart phone era; the leg pocket is too small to fit my Galaxy S9 in, which is not a wide or tall phone. It fits in the pocket on the left leg, but curious as to why, when 70% of the population is right handed, would Carhartt choose to put the cell phone pocket on the left leg? Are you listening, Carhartt? That detail needs to be updated. Lots of guys on the job carry cell phones and their cases are robust and beefy. Need a larger pocket, and on the right leg.

I wear Carhardt overalls daily. They are tough, well made and protect me from working outside all year long. I get them loose enough so I can move freely while using a chainsaw and running my tractor. I just purchased two new pair of these. I wore one pair out. I would recommend these to anyone who works outside and works hard.

I had a pair of the original version of these and loved them so this year i went and bought myself a new pair. Talk about down grade. The fit is ok but they don’t really fit right with the elastic where the buttons on the side are undone and you have no access to your pockets underneath. Then the pockets in the overalls are so small you can’t even get your hand in let alone put tools or a knife in them. I ended up cutting the pocket out which works but its not ideal because it wasn’t stitched for that. Big let down from the previous ones.

These are the overalls by which all others are measured. Takes some breaking in but you'd be hard pressed to wear these out in any scenario. On my second pair, just so one can be in the wash. One suggestion would be the addition of a snap pocket, in addition to the zipper. Just easier access in gloves.

They literally saved my leg! Bought these to start using while I was clearing some acreage on my property full of dense brush. While using the chainsaw, I tripped and almost cut my leg with the chainsaw. The thickness of the overalls binded up in the chain and gave me enough time to pull my leg back and release the gas on the chainsaw!

Not what I expected from Carhartt. They are NOT true to pant size. I wear 35-35 Wranglers so got 36-32 bibs(32 was longest option). They will work but will have to leave the upper buttons open. Order at LEAST 4" bigger and try to get a longer inseam..

Really liked the small stretch panel in the waist and they seemed like they’d be durable, but they didn’t sit right on my body. The crotch/waist hung too low and when I pulled them up so they sat right on my butt/hips and appropriately tightened the shoulders, the chest panel came up on my neck. Sizing should have been right but the proportions of the torso and legs were all wrong. I laugh and imagine the company using the same length of fabric for each pair and measuring the inseam from the bottom of the leg and whatever is left above the crotch becomes the torso.

Hammer loop and Carpenter pockets are backwards, but the great Carhart quality.

I love carhartt bibs honestly, but since the change to the elastic straps. I find they wear way too fast, I mean the elastic straps. Like sometimes the front is hanging down around my belly. No exaggeration. So it becomes, because like I've seen on many other reviews here, the buckle slides and doesn't support the proper placement, the the elastic is worn which adds to further the front side not being or staying in a my preferred location. High on my chest. The quality of everything else is great. Bring back the old straps please.

I got these bibs a few months back. I was suggested to get my size waist and inseam. After a few weeks I noticed that rivets had fallen off. After the first wash which I did on cold they shrank to a point of no longer fitting. I’m extremely disappointed in the quality if they are losing rivets and shrinking. I don’t think I can return them because I worked in them for a month. I wish there was a way carhartt could replace this pair with a size up or something. The one thing I did like about these is the design if then pocket on the bib. It was useful to put my phone in there when I was working. If you are going to buy these I suggest sizing them the way we used to with the old ones.

I never owned a pair if bibs before, these are great. If you want something that breathes better in the heat, you should probably go with denim. I like these and I live in Dallas and am doing ok so far this June, but I’m pretty heat tolerant. Once I start sweating the shoulder straps tend to pull my shirt back which is a little annoying but I’m sure any bib would do that. They fit great, look great and feel great. Careful when you wash, these do shrink noticeably so if you are on the big end of your size, you may want to go up one. Other than that, they fit great.

These are some fantastic overalls, I’m 5’10 165 pounds, bought a pair in 32/32 fit absolutely perfect. Still has a good amount of room to layer during South Dakota’s cold long winters. The design of the bib is very functional and aesthetically pleasing . A very solid pair of overalls.

I am a millwright /welder and have worn Carhartt bibs for 35 years and have been very satisfied with your product up till now .Last year I was forced to buy the new style and found that the front pockets are much shallower ,the shoulder straps will not stay adjusted for more than 30 min. , the side gussets failed with in 2 months, and the crotch blew out of both pair within 9 months . What's good - the fit is prefect, they are comfortable ,the chest pockets seem to be more useful than the old style. I'm sorry to say I am looking for something that is a durable as the old style and this is not cutting it.

Like an old friend or a well-worn baseball glove, Carhartt Duck Bib Overalls are always the best thing for work and play. They fit comfortably (even for those of us who are Big & Tall) and they're made to last for a long time! Not many things are perfect, but Carhartt Duck Bibs are very close to perfect, if not perfect!

I've been buy the same model bibs for almost 20 years. These new replacement model I bought are horrible. The hammer loop is on tbe wrong side! The new zipper front pocket is dumb. The pockets are so shallow whatever is in your pockets falls out when you sit down. I do like the beefier material though.

Much improved placement of double knee pockets. The knee pads actually cover your knees now! Previous editions had the placement too low, so great job there. The flex panels are also functional and truly add comfort. By far my favorite bibs so far.

I actually get upset thinking about how much time I’ve wasted not owning these ..I’ve literally worn them everyday since they were delivered, at I think I ordered like a 36x36 and at first I was worried because when i put them on I felt like I was swimming in them or that they were too baggy, but after a second i felt more comfortable than ever. It was like a symbiotic bond. They’re not just comfy though, they’re great for everything. I wear them when I make art, when I’m skateboarding, and around the house, but they can easily be the centerpiece of some super cool outfits. I’m definitely gonna buy them in other colors so that I can have one for working and making art and others to wear casually and when I go out. The fit is a little loose in the legs, but the sturdiness of the fabric keeps it from looking sloppy baggy. I’m usually a 34 waist; I don’t have a scale and can’t confirm if I’ve put on weight or not, but the the size 36 fits perfectly

Have purchased these for years for my husband. A few years ago the pocket design was changed and the depth is useless everything falls out while working. I cannot understand why Carhartt does not extend a couple inches. I have to spend an hour or more per pair adding to the pockets. Also, this new pair I just purchased fits snug compared to last years design.

These new overalls are a very poor facsimile of the previous versions. The stretch fabric failed within a few weeks on one pair resulting in a seam failure down to the knee. Poorly designed!, I used to purchase Carhartt for their product function and durability, all of that seems be be lost on designing for the fashion industry. The bib pockets are useless, no need for a zipper pocket when used for work - I need access with one hand to wrenches pencils etc. not a purse on the bib! Why was the hammer loop moved to the right side, this is the biggest design flaw? Again seems like something designed for fashion not function. As a right handed user, I now end up with everything hanging on the right leg and invariably the hammer gets in the way a while trying to reach another tool out of the now too short tool pockets. This is like asking a right handed gun slinger to move the holster to other hip, it is just wrong. The R01 design was truly designed for work versus fashion. The hip pockets are ridiculously short with barely enough room for a small handful of nails or screws. Please listen to your blue collar customers, we are not wrong. I think Carhartt has lost sight of how and why they became so successful as a work clothing manufacturer, as their logo started showing up in Hollywood the focus has been entirely on fashion. What a shame, I have been wearing their product for 40+ years (before it was cool!) but now find myself looking at competitors products for durability and functionality. Again please listen to you blue collar clients and please don't ask me to call the 1-800 number, that just comes off as a condescending. Bring back function, like I still see on the pants and listen to your customers or risk losing that portion of the market. I know I am now being forced to shop elsewhere.

They did this because the R01’s were made in the USA with American union labor. Like everything else they made here, they shipped out of the country and what we get is an inferior product for the same or more money. I will not buy from Carhartt anymore.

I went with a size 40 waist on these even though my true waist size varies from 36-38. I am a bigger guy so maybe it helped because of my gut.I work for an underground utilities company so I deal with anything from trenching to laying asphalt without a doubt these have kept me comfortable all day and a lot cooler on the hot days. I will be purchasing more in the near future

I really like the new style of pockets with a zipper and place for pencils. Also, when my weight fluctuates, the side buttons allow for adjustments. I have been using these work pants for over 15 years (I’m 75) and wish I had known of Carthartt products earlier. I highly recommend them.

I'm short (5'7") and ordered a 30x30. I tightened the straps all the way and the torso is still way too long. I can see in the sizing menu that there is a sizing for short people but im wondering if they discounted the short, regular, and tall sizing. I will have to return these and not try buying another pair because I'm afraid they will arrive with an equally long torso even if I get a shorter inseam. Really disappointed.

I work outside with chainsaws and machinery. I buy pants for work, endurance and longevity... not for style. Carhartt is the best. However, I’m tired of rolling up my pant legs. They fill with debris get tangled and that’s just plain dangerous. Short inseams for big guys don’t seem to be available any more. I just ran across your ad for the 28” inseam overalls and instantly ordered 4 pairs in two styles. I’m still wearing carhartt double knee work jeans, with my size inseam, I bought years ago. Would i recommend carhartt? Absolutely if you carry my size.

Sad that the model R06 has been discontinued. Wore those for 15 years. New design flaws as echoed by many others. 1. Pockets: Stuff falls out at awkward times due to changes in hand hole size. Who's paying for my new pocket knife? 2. Strap Hardware: Now extra Clumsy when you're in a hurry. 3. Double Knee Pocket: Larger panel means insert pads get lost and fold up inside. 4. Chest Pocket. If it ain't broke don't fix it, bring back the snap. 5. Hammer Loop: why the change from left to right? Please bring back the R06. Looks like I'm trying some *ickies Bibs next...

They're okay,not as good as the bibs that you've discontinued. The zipper crossed the top isn't as good as the the two snap tops. The side hand pockets are too short, stuff falls out, need to be deeper. Other than that, the color is great, the fabric is great, and the side expansion waistline is great.

Loose Fit Is An Understatement

Asked for these for Christmas after wanting these for well over a year now, and to say that I am disappointed is a bit of an understatement. I run 29x29 usually, so I knew that Carhartt's sizing for these pants was going to be a little bit tricky, but I figured a 30x30 would be perfectly fine considering the straps could cancel out any loose fit either in width or in length. The straps aren't miracle workers, though! I am still shocked that the length of the torso portion puts the inseam about 2-4-inches too low, even with the straps at their tightest. The entire fit is loose to the point of being uncomfortable. The only way these pants could seemingly fit me is if I wore all of my ski gear underneath. Considering this is the only thing I asked for for Christmas this year, I am really crushed!

I have been wearing R01 bibb since 1975 for work and leisure. These new ones are nowhere the same as the past bibb. Adding in the fat man straps on the sides are comical. If you can't fit in the size you keep telling yourself you wear, buy a larger. The fun part use to be seeing how fast you could break then in. Because material was so heavy and strong they were almost uncomfortable to wear for the first week or so. But they lasted much longer than the ones you sell now. And I worked a lot harder when I was younger. I do not understand why it seems that a good thing has to be "improved" and not for the better. Why can't you produce both styles with the old duck material?

I am a metal fabricator. Carhartt's are the only coveralls I will buy for myself and my son who works in the shop with me. Welding and grinding are really hard on clothing and Carhartt's hold up to the test and they last.

Now when she sews me on some front pockets deep enough to use, I will have what Carhartt should have sold in the first place.

I've worn Carhartt overalls for 30 years. They've always been a wonderful product. I'm not quite sure why you would change what wasn't broken. I can deal with the pocket changes and such but the sizing seems to have changed and the new suspenders are awful. They don't hold, you can slide them around with one hand. The old suspenders stayed put. This may be the first review I've ever written in the hopes that Carhartt will bring the old overall style back. I'm heartbroken.

I used the size finder and it was accurate. I'm 5'9, 175 lbs. Bought 34W, 30L. Length is fine standing up but if doing a lot of crouching & kneeling I might rather have had the 32L. They go up to the tops.of my boots when squatting. Plenty of pockets, including a double on the leg that fits my phone. Very heavy material. MUCH more comfortable than pants for working. Would buy again.

I had read a lot of negative reviews of the "new and improved" overalls and was apprehensive about ordering them. I've worn out 2 pairs of the old style and liked them a lot. Overall, I like the the new style - although the material seems different. The tag says "100% cotton" but it has a bit of a sheen to it. Maybe there's a coating on it or something. And the front pockets are not as deep. I didn't understand the sizing. I wear 36" waist x 30" inseam and ordered 40x30 and they fit just right. Can't rate the durability because I haven't had them very long.

I love the look, feel, and durability of my Overalls. These things are awesome! I love them so much that I wish that I could get a couple of pairs that are shorts so that I could wear them in the summer. Carhartt does a great job with providing the products with hearty material that will last. I purchased a couple of t-shirts with this order to wear with my overalls. They look great together and the material is not the cheap stuff that lasts a couple of washings. I've purchased the cool looking cheap shirts from large retail stores and they don't last. Pay a little more for quality and save money in the long run. My last pair over overalls that I bought lasted me over 20 years. Yes, they finally wore through with holes in the knees. But, man they were my favorites - until this order arrived.

I own at least a dozen of these bibs but only one pair of pants, these bibs are so comfortable, and great for year round. I understand now why all the old guys I remember from growing up always wore bibs, but carhartt is the best. I have to order bibs two inches bigger in length and waist than I would for a pair of carhartt pants, otherwise these WILL SHRINK, wearing high waters isn't cool, and a higher crotch doesnt work for the manhood. So my best advice is order a couple inches bigger. Perfect otherwise.

I have to start off and say I really appreciate the quality that goes into these bibs, there have been numerous improvements and upgrades to the older design. They have a relief cut into the pocket to hang a tape measure on either side. The front of the bib pockets are much more usable now, especially with the large zip pocket. Also the double cuff at the base of each leg is very nice. I'm happy with my new overalls. Money well spent!

Fit great, seem durable. Only downfalls is no zippers or snap openings on legs. Have to take work boots off to get back out of. The design team needs to wear an actual pair of steel toed work boots and then attempt to put their designed clothes on and off. Otherwise would be a great in shop, light weather bibber.

I am disappointed in Carhartt with this one. I've been a Railroader for 20 years and Carhartt R01's are all I wear to work. I wear a 38X32 and every pair I own of the old R01's, the straps fit at about the middle or a third of their adjustment. On the new style R01's I adjust the strap all the way and they are still slightly loose, it's like they are designed for people with a freakishly long torso and not a normal person, with all the adjustment available in a bib strap I'd think they could at least get close. But that is something I could overlook and get used to. The most unforgivable sin, which has been mentioned in many, many, many reviews before this one is the atrocious pockets on the redesigned version of the R01's. Let's start with the hand pockets, if you can call a pocket that's too shallow to put your hand into a "hand pocket". If I was sitting at a desk all day, they might be fine. I could throw my keys on the desk and pick them up when it's time to go home, but as someone who is out moving around all day, climbing up and down, leaning, bending, kneeling and in constant movement there is nothing that I can put in these pocket that I'd trust to be there in one hour, much less after a full day of work. You don't put your hands in your pocket while sitting at a desk. I've never put on a pair of pants/bibs/shorts, stuck my hands in my pockets and been instantly ticked off at how poorly thought out they are until now. To give those of you who have the old school R01's an idea on the difference before you buy the new ones, measure your hand from the tips of your fingers and up 3 1/2 inches...That is how much of your hand will fit in the new pockets. My old R01's are a full 5 3/4 inches deep. It's a weird feeling to stick your hands in your pocket and your fingers hit bottom before your knuckles even clear daylight! Let's move on to the chest pockets. There are 3 pen pockets, none of which are deep enough to hold a normal pen, nor are they tight enough to keep a pen from falling out. They would probably sort of work for a sharpie, but at 3 inches deep and wide enough to hold 2 pens you'd better have a good supply of pens. Next up are the 2 open pockets on the bib, where the button snap pockets are on the old style. These are the two pockets that us bib wearers actually use. Carhartt had it perfected with the old style. I could put a can of dip in one side and still have enough slack in it to hang my radio clip from it when I needed both hands free. On the other side I could put my pen all the way to the clip along with my wallet and snap it so it's secure. When off of work I could fit my Iphone XS with otterbox perfectly secure with just the top sticking out so I could grab it. The new pockets are sized just perfectly so that NOTHING fits correctly and no more snaps. Carhartt's solution to the shortcomings of all of the other pocket situations was to place what can only be described as a "man purse zipper pocket" on the chest. I've heard some guys mention they like to keep their phones in there, okay. So put your phone in the zipper pocket, a can of dip or granola bar in the open pocket and a pen in the pen pocket...now you have a 2 inch thick mass of sagging junk on your chest that's uncomfortable to work in. You literally have a pocket on top of a pocket on top of another pocket. Think of how you are going to use those pockets and how that'll work out for you. I don't know of a situation where layered pockets are functional. The old school twin pocket with snaps was functional perfection. In summary, Carhartt, PLEASE bring back the old design R01's. I'll be a customer again if you do, but I cannot spend my hard earned money on work cloths that aren't designed to be worked in. For those of us that our work clothes are part of our gear, we need our Carhartt back. I would gladly consult on design if feedback is truly sought and have one idea that would be an improvement for those of us who have to use handheld radios at work.

my husband is pleased and like the updates to the bib, double fabric on front up the hips. It seem that I wouldn't need to reinforce/repair the knee area after a year. Will see. Also the zipper pocket on the front will come in handy.

I have been wearing duck Bibb overalls for decades and within the last few years you have changed the design and now I have to take them for alterations and have the shoulder straps shortened by 8 inches. I wear 34" x 34" R01-M and the upper part is way too long. In addition I have to file the corners of the buckle or it's almost impossible to get them off. I wish you would go back to the old measurements.

Have been wearing the R01's for 30+ years every day for work as a Steamfitter. Nothing can match them in wear and durability. Not happy with the new pockets on the chest or the fact that the front leg pockets are not as deep as the previous R01's. Those are the only things I would change back.

I really like most of the changes they've made to these bibs. I've been wearing them for over 10 years and these are by far my favorite to wear now. The reinforced material at the hem line of the pant legs was needed and I really like the flexible material at the waist line. I do wish the pen pocket area was taller. My pens keep getting caught on things and fall out often but that's my only dislike. Overall I'd get them again.

They shrink in length horribly. Mine shrank 5 or 6 inches after following the "MATERIALS & CARE" instructions: "Machine wash warm... Tumble dry medium". I will never buy these again.

My son is tall and thin, and it was great to find his size: 30 x 34. He works on a construction site, operating heavy equipment starting at 5 AM when it is very cold. He layers under these, and as it warms up, he takes the layers off. They keep him warm and dry and comfortable while he is outside in 20°. Excellent quality. Great price. Great fit. Highly recommend.

Shallow pockets suck. Stuff falls out when sitting. Dbl fronts nicer being taller. Suspender clip made from thicker material a lot better time will tell old coveralls we’re awesome. Except suspender clips bent to easy and dbl fronts not tall enough

Quality is what you’d expect. Very good. But the legs are too short. Bought my usual inseam and the next length would be too long. Also fri t pockets are really shallow. Stuff will fall out so I can’t use them.

These are generally great overalls. If you pay attention to the fitment guide, they are sized correctly. The number, type, and placement of the pockets is good as well. although, I'd like to see a dedicated knife pocket on the upper leg. Quality is very good, stitching and cloth material are robust and will probably last, I am concerned that the elastic in the shoulder straps will wear out before anything else as it feels rather light weight. Time will tell. My only real complaint is the way the shoulder straps connect to the bib. The mechanism is fiddly, I think the old-fashioned loop over a button way is the best. Your mileage may vary.

I’m 5’11 210lb , my first bibs I received was 40Wx32L they were BIG but I thought I would be fine , the Material was very stiff and heavy duty. I had to return this set due to a broken rivet, I order the same size and model again. My 2nd pair fit perfect, however the material on this pair was much lighter than the first one I returned. I am happy with them but there is some quality and sizing issues.

I’ve been using the duck bibs for thirty years keep up the good work.

Order #160453591326 I ordered what I thought was R01 overalls 36-34 in black, had to get some navy... What I got was I don't know but the pockets are all wrong, hammer loop on the wrong leg, no watch pocket, no bib watch pocket, no double leg pocket on right leg,,, I’ve been wearing this style for about 30 years and you make it hard to find my stuff when you don’t have my overalls I’ve been wearing. Did you discontinue the R01 overalls?

I have worn Carhartt's for years and cannot believe they have changed their tried and true designs to this. I've almost been comfortable ordering the same size each year and the fit has always been good. These came in and I don't know if they were mislabeled or if the fit is just that terrible but the bib came up to almost my neck and the material was not near as good as the previous versions. As mentioned by everyone else, the pockets are also inferior. I hate to switch but I'll be finding a different brand to wear.

It is very good for farbricating or welding or working under the car because it’s very comfortable and you can move easily with it. But I think I should also get another overall because I feel very hot at summer days in this cloth or when I move a little I start sweating because it’s too thick and heavy. It’s surface also is not very kind with the car’s paint. I also think that the pockets on this overall is not very functional and it could have better designed pockets. Overall, it looks very nice. It was a little loose and big at first, but after I washed it once, it became very fit on me.

Mine are the tan ones, not the black shown above. But these are great! A little stiff when you first put them on, but they felt broken in in less than an hour. I have been wearing them while removing very thick brush, with tons of thorny briers. Not once did any thorns get through! Very tough, a quality product! Highly recommend!!!

Straps Stretched and Deteriorated

I have worn Carharrts in the past and never had any issues. I washed a brand new pair for my son, and the straps stretched out and deteriorated after one wash. Now they are slightly uneven. I am happy to replace the elastic, but cant find any to match.

Excellent so far. I had a pair of older similar bibs(FR) and there's a number of upgrades that are useful. However the one downside is the 3 pen pockets. Since the fabric is at an angle it only hold one pen somewhat and the other 2 are almost useless. If the fabric went straight across and held ¾'s of each pen it would be more useful.

For many years I have bought the classic non-relaxed fit overalls, and have been happy with them. The new relaxed fit have pluses and minuses by comparison, and if still available I would have continued to buy the old model: Pluses: - Hammer loop is finally on the correct (right) side. - Phone pocket is part of the right-hand pocket and works surprisingly well. Better than the hip pocket where the phone is more easily damaged and tended to fall out when seated in the bathroom. - (Sort of) there is an elastic gusset where the sides fasten, which is OK but a little much. Maybe if they really fit it would be helpful. Minuses: - Relaxed fit is REALLY relaxed. I could down almost to the next smaller size. - There is a new zipped pocket at the top of the bib, and the former two bib pockets are smaller and less useful. The original two pockets were just right. - There is a folded-up and stitched cuff, which I suppose will wear well - perhaps long after the rest of the garment has died. I have always bought new overalls when the legs wore through under the pockets, not because the cuffs wore.

The front pockets are too small and cant hold a 12' tape measure easily. The new style of bib pockets suck and don't hold pens as well as the older style. The big bib pocket with a zipper is useless if the other pockets are in use. I wont buy another pair if the front pockets remain the same size. The shoulder straps are very long and don't stay in place.

The fabric washed well and feels like the prior heavy weight and thickness. Only comment is that the pen holder on the bib is too short. Pens stick out too far and easily fall out. Everything else is stellar. Great update!

Not sure why the design on these bibs was changed.... not at all impressed with the "new style" Front pocket depth is smaller, bottom hem is excessive, overall feel is just not the standard I've come to expect after over 25 yrs of wearing carhartt bibs. A definite step in the wrong direction!!

Notice, to be honest, I wear a wide range of Carhartt clothing. Work; manufacturing, indoor and outdoors. Camping and even casual wear. The Carhartt sizing fits my shorter yet "heavier" frame very well. 5'7" tall; 38" waist; 42" chest. Durability! Fit! Dollar value! For this bib purchase, I did order one size up in waist to accommodate heavier weight thermal base layers.

These duck bib overalls are the perfect fit. I found that other Carhartt style overalls had extremely wide legs, but these Duck Bib Overalls are much slimmer, yet still wide enough for a thick base-layer during the winter. I'm 5'8", 145lbs, and the size 30 fits perfect. Can't say enough. Order some.

I love them, it’s just that the extra elastic stretch piece added to the waist isn’t necessary. I know it will eventually deteriorate with time, and I’ll have to sew them back together without that awful elastic piece when the time comes, it seems fragile. The original design is a lot better, leaving you content that the waist area will not be compromised eventually. Hope Carhartt will eventually offer both! Thanks

Do not follow the Carhartt size guide. I’m 6’1” and 200 lbs. I bought a large regular and they are still too long. Best of luck finding a size that works because the size chart is not even close. They are too generous on the “relaxed” fit.

They feel like skinny jeans which I hate. The front hand pocket entry is good, but the bottom should be at the hip. The front hand pockets are way too shallow. I keep dropping out my keys an have lost two new tubes of chapstick. The chest pen pockets oddly enough are too short to hold pens? The side pocket on the right should be like the old style 2 pocket, but a little bigger to stash a cellphone. I think that’s about all I can complain of so far. The material is new so the durability long term has yet to be tested. The new (current) design was obviously crafted by a freshly out of college hipster, that has no concept of the working mans needs in workwear.

Again they just take a regular pair of bibs and adjust the inseam. Fact is if you're not 6'0" tall you definitely have a shorter torso length. So what makes you think that just shorting the inseam will make these bibs fit properly? I bought these because they offer them in a 28" inseam, but I have the straps adjusted as far as possible and I can't get them on without going through a hassle. The crotch to top of bib needs to be shorter like the inseam. I still have 2+ inches of crotch hanging down and the top of the bib is as high as it can get. Openings for inserting Carhartt knee pads are too small (my openings measure 3"). Carhartt knee pad instructions say to roll up knee pad to insert. I had previously purchased the Rigby overalls but returned them because the knee pad openings didn't even measure the same and one side was too small to get the knee pad in. I have a pair of Rigby pants where the openings are about 4.5"....just for comparison. So, if using knee pads are important to you then check the opening size when you get them. For the rest, the quality and fit are good. The color fades quickly and you may get some light streaking when washing the first several times where the material gets creased. I washed my blue overalls in cold water and put them in the dryer immediately but they still got streaked. Not a big deal since I wear them for work.

So I had always heard Carhartt was super good quality and durability but after this I might look for other brands, not even a week of use and the side seams are ripping so it doesn't seem to fit right anymore.

Used to love these, but the material is different and I don't know why

Simply because they are not made in Mexico, any more the material they used in the Mexican plant was way better than the material used anywhere else that is my only problem, but I love these bibs. I have worn them for years. They are just not the same quality anymore. Let's please bring him back to Mexico or the US thanks.

Though these overalls are made with stellar material and durability, the fit is terrible for me personally. I think this could be ameliorated if they were a bit more form fitting, but at present they look terrible.

Got a pair for my brother. He does a lot of agriculture work as that's his major and job. He's had them a month, he's been putting them to good use. He was trying to adjust the strap and the right strap's stitching gave out and ripped. He's not so strong to be able to rip the medal from the stitching Carhartt. Come on now. I bought him this thinking it would last, not the strap giving out right away. Other than that everything seems good but I'll update to when something else unreasonable happens.

Well, here's the quick and easy; These aren't the last pair I bought - that would be the pair that this 'new-fangled' design is SUPPOSED to replace, on that, Carhartt failed. The fit was close to my usual - more or less - The straps are too long, the standard side pockets WAY, WAY, WAY to SHALLOW. (What decision tree committee came up with that?) Next, the right leg slip pocket is now one instead of two, and it's way to deep and the opening is smaller so getting your average sized fingers to take out what you put in can't reach far enough. Yes, they switched sides with the pocket configuration - but - most people are RIGHT-HANDED so why to the left leg when it was usable on the right? Huh? Next is the leg bottom double cuff - why bother? if the straps are the proper length and the inseam is correct again, why bother? to keep the cuff bottom from becoming worn or tattered with use? That's a waste of production time and sewer's effort for a marginal feature. Getting to the material - it's close to the original - last pairs I've owned, but the strap yolk feels thinner. The waste side elastic seems like another idea is of marginal use, especially if you consider the questionable changes made that must have been based on adding new, less 'worker friendly' changes. It's a 7 out of 10 from me. Please, Carhartt, don't bother giving me your usual reply and how you got feedback from customers on what they wanted to see - okay - yah-sure-you-bethcha. Did they really ask for a 'relaxed fit'? For overalls?

I’m normally a 34x32 but with car hart you need to go 2 sizes up in the waist because Carhartt can’t size there clothing normally like the rest of the industry . Now the legs are shrinking every wash . Next time I’ll get 36x34 and it will be perfect.

Sized up because my R01s were a bit snug in my size, but definitely didn’t have to with these. They definitely run larger than the traditional R01s. I usually wear a 32x32 pant, and could have ordered a 32x30 pair of these or a perfect fit. Otherwise, these are very comfortable, and the quality is obvious.

Got my husband and son matching coveralls and they're both insanely great quality. My husband loves how many pockets there are, and he's already worked on the jeeps many times in them, and not a single rip or anything has happened yet! Great quality, great look, very comfortable.

I really like these overalls alot however they are not perfect. This is my second set of 5 pairs that I've blown through during the last 3 years as a welder. Like others have said the front leg pockets are too SMALL! My phone barely fits and leaves it exposed to sparks. It also hinders you from bending forward. The good news is I might learn how too sew. Only other complaint is the buckles slide down throughout the day. The older style had different straps that were better. I will buy again because even with its problems I haven't found anything better

Wear it almost daily for farm work. Some of the stitching where it splits open was coming undone before I even started wearing it. I also wish it had a good way to hang on a coat hook.

First things first, the fit of these overalls is fantastic. I would argue that these are the most comfortable overalls Carhartt has on offer. This bib does fit a touch loose to the body, so if you prefer a tight fit, consider sizing down slightly. The elastic waist will make room for you while still being plenty comfortable. The only flaw can find with this bib is the pocket sizes on the front pockets. They're much shallower than you would expect, almost as if these pockets were designed for women's jeans rather than men's work wear. Despite being a minor annoyance, I don't think the pockets will present an issue for those of us who want these overalls for DIY work around the house. However, I would expect anyone who wants these for their professional work might find the pockets lacking.

Please bring the R01 R02 R03 R37 styles back. Thank you.

I live in Pennsylvania and wear different style bibs depending on how cold it is. I have R01 & R37unlined, R02 zip to knee red quilt lined, and R03 zip to knee arctic black lined for those single digit days. WHY DID CARHARRT STOP MAKING ALL OF THESE STYLES??? You used to make products I could rely on and that fit well. Now these styles are discontinued and you’ve gone with generic sizes instead of 30, 32, 34, 36, 38, 40 it’s S M L - cheaper, less quality. As a 25 yr customer I’m asking you to please bring back the previous bib styles. I’ve been a loyal customer and would like to continue to be. Your changes in products are forcing me to look elsewhere. I hope you bring the standard styles back. Thank you.

I bought these bibs for my boyfriend who is a new construction plumber. Within a few weeks of use both straps ripped and broke. We have never had an issue with his bibs breaking before, and typically we just replace when they get super stained/dirty.

The new model is very nice with good upgrades (my old ones were 20 years old). They fit great, they have a zip fly, and there's a zip pocket in front for easy cell phone access in the woods. Only complaint is the new clasps are tough to open but they might ease up with time.

Bought a pair of these b4 xmas, mine said made in the USA on the tag. I would think/hope that they still are in 2020. These are pretty heavy and durable. Nice for fall and winter. Will be intersting to see how hot these are on a hot humid Michigan day. If these are still made in USA your site should have that trade mark thing in the corner like the rest of your American made products. OH, these are a little on the short side for length. I normally wear 30 inch inseam but when your in a seat, or riding a bike/moped the legs are too short and your ankles get exposed and they get cold. I'll buy 32x32 next time around. Support american jobs, buy American goods.

The material is great but the pockets are much too shallow. The straps slide down on their own a lot. I would probably buy them again but if I had a choice for a different pair with normal pockets I would get those instead.

I have two pair of these bibs. Good quality all around. EXCEPT for the clasps on the shoulder straps! The "male" end is too large for the "female" receiver. The concept is good, and will prevent the need for replacing the older style with brass buttons. But the design needs a lot of improvement. Putting them on or taking them off, it is very difficult. If you're in a hurry, you are out of luck. If you have arthritic hands, like I do, it is not just difficult, it's painful. Would have gotten 5 stars if it were not for these clasps.
