I was trying to replace a vest for my husband (it was a different brand) and I was unable to find it. I found this Carhartt vest that was very similar. My husband insisted on having a zippered inside pocket and this vest has that feature. I decided to purchase it and see if my husband would wear it and he said he really likes it! He now calls it his "good" vest!

Awesome product by an awesome company. Fits good as a taller individual, the tall version adds about an inch or so to the length which is what I needed. Very durable and well made. Thank you.

I love this vest and wear it daily for much of the year. I recently bought another one to replace my old one that's wearing out but they changed the sizing! What they're calling a medium now is huge, I was swimming in it.

I have been wearing a sherpa-lined carhartt vest for years now and as soon as one wears out I purchase another one. I just purchased one again in January and for some reason, the same vest, same size, doesn’t fit as snugly, which I like because I live in a windy place. The small was too small, and the medium is what I have always bought before. Is there a reason this has changed? I really liked the more snug fit on my body. (My body hasn’t changed weight wise - still the same).

Very comfortable, true to size, very durable. I have worn it outside during the snow and it keeps you comfortable and warm.

I have owned one of these vests for years. You can't wear them out. I recently had gastric sleeve surgery and can no longer wear it. The vest was at least 10 years old and still looked like new. Gave it to a friend and he was excited. Just ordered myself a new vest of a much smaller size. They are very durable and warm. Highly recommended.

This is exactly what I was looking for - warm, big enough to layer under but still trim enough to layer over, and perfect pockets. I'm short and stocky - 5'7" tall (more or less) and 195 pounds (give or take) - and the regular size large fits perfectly. I like it so much I'm thinking about getting the similarly styled coat to wear with (or without) it. Thanks, Carhartt . . .

Very disappointed with this vest, I have the same vest from a few years back and the two vests are day and night different. The weight of the Sherpa lining is aprox 1/2 of what it was, the outer shell is a lighter canvas type material , the locker loop is so thin now, I'm scared to use it. The biggest problem is the zipper. My older version had a very robust zipper, very easy to get started and very smooth operation, the new zipper belongs on a lightweight windbreaker, you need 3 hands to get zipper started and feels like the two parts of the zipper will separate when zipped up. SHAME ON YOU CARHARTT! The quality of your products are declining fast

Great as a work vest, another layer for a trail hike our out for a casual dinner. Fits well and excellent quality!

I usually wear a 2xl but I needed to size down to the xl. Other than the size issue, it works great. It keeps your core warm while your arms are free for activities.

It works perfect for the outdoors when it is freezing outside but youre going to be doing hardwork. It allows the perfect balance to prevent overheating without getting in the way of your work and to remain warm when youre having a rest.

I love this vest! I needed a warmer vest for walking the dogs as I don’t really like jackets. This one fits the bill perfectly. I normally buy an XXL as I like things BIG but am glad I ordered an XL based on other reviews I read here prior to purchase. Plenty of pockets for storage too.

Very good material. Nice quality and is thick and warm. I purchased this for my boyfriend and he wears it all the time! The material also cleans very nice. We love carhartt and have all of the merchandise from hats, tshirts, hoodies, vests and the classic carhartt jackets

Gotta like the firm duck exterior keeps the wind out and the Sherpa lining is toasty. I say this as a person that isn’t wild about Sherpa linings. Though it is especially nice in the handwarmers/pockets. I wish the front pockets/handwarmers were slightly deeper and slightly smaller openings. I wanted them to be slightly more like side-entry on a leather bomber jacket. They can secure a tall boy can of beer pretty well though. The Napoleon pocket on the upper left side is pretty functional but also free floating. The lining has followed my wallet out on several occasions. I try to use the inner pocket but that are borderline useless to me. The pocket on the inner left side is big enough to hold my bulky, Defender Series Otterbox clad iPhone but it is too far down; you have to practically completely unzip the vest to access the pocket. The inner right pocket isn’t deep enough to hold the phone and secure the hook and eye-loops (Velcro); kind of wish it was a snap or and maybe had a flap. It is decent enough for pen but not a Churchill sized cigar. There is a small hole on the right-side pocket to be used, I assume, as a place to put a pen or pencil. The drawback is that the hold opens in the pocket. It makes the right side uncomfortable to use as a handwarmer with a pen in there. The spot for the pen is almost perfect; two changes: 1. Slightly larger opening; fit a pen and mech pencil or a sharpie. 2. Enclose the pen area and secure it to the body of the vest All that being said I am really happy with the vest and wear it almost day with it’s not Hoth cold outside. I bought a size up because I wanted to be able to wear it over a bulky hooded sweatshirt. I am slightly regretful about that. I recommend buy the size you think you wear and one size bigger and try them both with added and without the bulk of a hoodie layer. It says loose fit and I really think they mean it. Keep in mind vests work better to retain heat when they are closer fitting to the body. There is a tradeoff for range of motion comfort.

Love the coat. Plenty of pockets, great look and perfect fit. Really like the warmth when the temp is dropping.

Great quality, solid and well-tailored, larger arm holes for movement and comfort are also flattering for fit. Medium was surprisingly large, even allowing for layers underneath. Felt it was sized closer to a large. Not bulky, although solid and dense; offers good insulation.
