I’ve owned a pair for 10 years. They are some of the most comfortable boots I’ve ever bought. This pair is to replace my old ones. I have wanted a brown pair for some time. I like the low heel of a roper for working on my feet everyday.

Incredibly stiff and difficult to get on and off. Fit fine once I was able to get them on, so its not a size issue. Really wanted to like them, but had to return.

I bought them online, received and started wearing them. The size is between too wide and true to size, I hesitated to send them back and regret I did not order 2 sizes to send back the one that does not fit but finally kept them. I love their simple sturdy look, but I wonder how to protect them as there are no indication and they seem to be stained or scratches easily which is not what I expect from sturdy boots. Should I waterproof spray them?

I have a pair of Quickdraw's in 10B which fit really well (I'm just not a big fan of square toes). I had assumed that these would fit about the same- not so! The heel cup is wider (wider than my Heritage Stockman's in 9 1/2D) & the overall fit is 'looser". As others have mentioned, the seams on the inside of the boot have eaten my ankle bones raw (compared to my other Ariat's- the seam looks wider/bulkier). I do like the look of these boots & the fit may improve with break-in (if I can wear them that long)- we'll see.

The boots...Ariat Heritage Roper...arrived in good shape, and in good time. However, I could not leverage my feet into them. I am used to having a tight entry into a boot, this was impossible. I'll probably never order footwear on line again. No one's fault, but back they went.

This is the second pair of these boots. My first pair lasted 9 years and I still wear them they are just great hard wearing, comfortable and look great. Mine have been in sea water, mud and just abused. Highly recommended.

These Ariat Roper Hertiage Boots are great. The boot is true to size as is the width. There was no breaking in period for these boots. I was amazed how comfortable they are since I have very flat and wide feet. I normally don't by any shoe without trying them on first. I would highly recommend these boots to anyone.

I’ve worn the Heritage Roper round toe and wide square toe for years. My last pair, ordered a few months ago, were a real disappointment. Lighter weight uppers and poor quality stitching that is already unraveling. This new pair is not durable enough for horse farm work.

I bought these nine years ago and they have been the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had. The ATS insoles got replaced twice but the sole is holding up well although the leather is starting to crack where the toes bend up. I'm glad to see they are still available and will be ordering a new pair for my birthday.

I bought a pair of these nearly a decade ago and they've been my faithful companions for daily wear. Unfortunately, moving to the rust belt, I didn't tend to them as well as I should. So two years of salty winters, and infrequent care, finally did in the leather around the welt on one boot. The soles have also finally worn smooth, but I still wear them when I'm not concerned about appearance. I've loved the boots enough that I'll be buying another pair to give these ones a retirement.

These are my third pair of Ariat Ropers and not because they've worn out! I keep a pair at home and 2 pair at the ranch, one black and one brown. They're easy to walk in as work fine in the saddle. My husband also has a pair and wears them everywhere. The fit is really good and very comfortable.

I've worn this same style of Ariat boot forna out 12 years. This is my 3rd pair. Same model number, same size, same color, etc. These new boots are visibally narrower than the previous pair and the toe is not as wide. The seams inside rub on my ankles, and now, after wearing them for 3 weeks, they are beginning to rub on my heels. They are just not the same.

I ordered a 7.5 wide and very glad I did. I’m very happy with the fit and the boot itself and color. They were stiff to begin with but I steamed them over the stove and now they fit comfortably. I’ve received many compliments on them!

I read all the reviews before buying my boots and therefore had an idea what to expect however my expectations were exceeded! My boots were sooooo pretty and perfect for horseback riding. The brown color wasn’t as light as pictured, it’s much darker but I liked it better; the rounded toe is comfortable; the heel height is perfect, it’s a good looking boot but very functional. The leather is stiff and the boot was tight when I first put it on and the arch was a bit snug; I had to have them stretched but that might have been because I have a high arch. After wearing them a few hours they began to loosen up, so each time I wear them the stiffness goes away however they are very comfortable boot. Well made and will last! I’m so happy with them and recommend them to anyone looking for a great boot for a great price.

I work on guest ranch, so I bought this for everyday use. It is very comfortable and a great height for someone short like me (I'm 5'1). It broke in after one day of wearing it and is a touch loose, but still looks and feels good.

I bought a size 7 wide. I revived a size 7.5 wide. I could not even get my foot in the shaft let alone the boot. Plus! I had to pay to return them!

I've had these boots for many years now up in Alaska. These are the go to DMV footwear ( just standing in line for hours) my surgeon even wears these boots in the operating room! Ive waterproofed them and literally waded through winter ponds & lakes. Clean em occasionally, condition em up, they're just fine. Starting to show a bit of character since wearing them out in the brush, rucks, hunts, and even pulling deadlifts. My all around favorite boot. If only I could wear them in uniform!!! P.S. best fitting wide sized boot ever, I mean that.

I wear these boots to shovel manure in almost every morning, and then I just rinse them off, (treated them w/ Obenauf'sfirst thing to protect them) andwearthem to town aswell. Durable and versatile.Likethattheycome in wide. Only complaint, sometimes i can feel the rocks underfoot, and so i will be replacing the insole with another recommended by my PT. Other than that these boots are very comfortable, little break in time, and I am someone who suffers from aches and pains.

First, I ordered an 8 C (wide)! WHY is this one of the very few women’s footwear items that is available in a wide!?!?! This boot fits so perfect that all I have to do is step into them like loafers and wear them all day long!!! Only 4 stars because no where on the website describing the finish does it say whether or not these boots are water proof!! They should be. Also, the finish is “designed” to scratch!! (RME) Seriously?? Boots, especially work boots, scratch and get distressed naturally!! (RME… again). I will definitely buy Ariat boots again. This is pair #8 in my eclectic collection of boots!! I wear 7 wide. Hard to find in boots. These are a bit tight in toe area and too wide in heal. I'm attempting to stretch them and put in heal pads to stop slipping. I havent worn them an entire day yet.

I love these boots. I work in them on the ranch and ride in them. They are so lightweight and comfy, easy to clean as they are moister wicking. I have big feet and I could have even gone down 1/2 size. I purchased size 9. I'm usually 9 1/2 - 10 but could've even gotten an 8 1/2.

I ordered 1/2 size larger, just to be safe, but it may not have been necessary. I ordered the wide width. The fit is perfect. And I will have plenty of room wearing socks. The boots are a little difficult to put on, but, they are SO comfortable! Great arch support and padding on the sole. Come on cool weather, so I can wear these everywhere.

I found the boots exactly to the size I expected. Initially tight to get on over the instep but as a result, they provide more support than the usual American cowboy boots. (Australians are used to supportive elastic sided boots.) Very comfortable to wear around the paddock and non slip in stirrups.

Originally purchased to replace ten plus year old ropers but these look so great I am reluctant to wear them at the barn. We all have to get muddy sometime. Have had boots about 2 weeks. Extremely comfortable. Only problem encountered is the inside seam on right boot rubs inside of ankle. Another pair of Ariat rompers does the same thing. Great as long as I remember to put band aid on ankle.

Really like this boot and shoe bed fits true to size but it always a bit difficult to get foot into boot. Note I have thin feet ankles and calves so that is not an issue. It would an amazing boot if they a zipper at the back to make putting the boot on easier/

Very comfortable study boots. I wear them on a daily basis to work driving and they works great. I also like the fact that they are casual & classy. They don’t have the top foot stitching so it can be worn as a dress boot too.

I found these boots a little hard to pull on at first, as I am used to the Australian style elastic sided boots that have a little more give. But once I had them on, they were a great fit around my foot. I found them a little long, but nothing a pair of thick socks won't fix! I have yet to wear them to work, but I have no doubt they will be fine! I would definitely recommend these boots!

These are very nice boots and good looking too. I have another pair of Ariat Boots (The Heritage R) and they are a 9.5" medium. They fit great and I've had them for years. I naturally ordered the same size in the Ropers but they were too narrow and my toes felt a bit cramped. I called customer service and they were very nice. I decided to order a 10" medium. They fit me fine in width now and my toes are fine but now the heels are too loose!

The item is darker than in photo. Order smaller than you would normally wear. Usually with real western boots you need to order larger than you normally wear. so be warned. Seems like a very well made product. Time will tell.

These boots have stood the test of time and comfort. I wore them to work around the farm as well as to ride in. They've kept their comfort. They did wear a little fast so their color changed and made it hard to clean them up if I needed to wear them out but would get again for a riding pair around home. Artists were comfortable as always.

I ordered these Heritage Ropers (Black) as a boot to go with my pilot uniform. The fit, the look and the ergonomics of the outsole were all heavy considerations when I made the purchase. I was not disappointed. The break in time was very very short. The black leather takes a very nice shine when being polished and the rubber outsole is very important especially when walking on slippery ramps full of water, snow, ice or de-ice fluid… also the rubber outdoor takes a nice grip to the rudder pedals unlike the leather out soles. This is a comfortable simple boot at a very affordable price. I would recommend this to my pilot buddies.

If you are patient, you will like these boots a lot! But, the first few times I put them on they were R-E-A-L-L-Y hard to get into and out of. They look great, and now are very comfortable once they got broken in over the instep.

I bought these boots to wear while working with horses. They felt great the first time on. Based on other reviews, I ordered the smallest size I usually wear in street shoes. They were still big, so I am waiting on my exchange for a half size smaller. Some reviews reported having to work a little to get them on for the first time. I didn't experience that and don't think that will be an issue even in a smaller size. The price I paid was discounted a little, but I'm paying that back with return shipping charges. Still, it's worth it to get the boots I want when I can't find them near home. From my experiences with Shepler's, I would recommend this company, and also the Ariat roper boot.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] To begin, I bought these boots in my regular gym shoe and flip flop size 7. I walked around the house a bit but my pinky toe was rubbing raw and my toes in general felt compressed. The length of the boot was perfect. While I've never bought a wide boot (I have normal to thinner feet) before I decided to return for a 7 C or wide size. This boot fits perfect. I have a few pairs of a higher costing, designer, western boots but am just as happy with these at half the cost. I like the roper style heel because I have a lot of acres that need walking on our property/farm. But I don't just where them for that. They are cute with my dresses too! On a different note, I was walking around the grocery store and my children made note that my footsteps were so quiet I was like a ninja. Lol. It's true though, these are some stealthly quiet boots. Over all I give them 5 stars and with the money I saved will try out another Ariat boot in the next few months. Just remember instead of sizing up, try the wide!

Well-made and comfortable. No breaking in needed. Took polish after I wore them several times and no cuff mars on the top leather so the top leather finish is durable. Ill buy the brown boots soon.

I wear a true 7 1/2 tennis shoe. The boots seem just a bit bigger than that. Nothing a good thick pair of socks didn't fix. I've worn them 6 times in 2 weeks and each time they are more and more comfortable. I recommend them to any boot lover.

I was given these about four years ago, I have worn them three days a week at least three months throughout the summer every year, as well as sporadically throughout the rest of the year, in rain, manure, mud, extreme heat. Just this last year they've started to break down slightly on the inside, but only the lining, the rest is still top notch. The reason I give this boot four stars instead of five is just that I think they could be slightly more comfortable, the sole becomes a bit hard after walking in them for a few hours.

I grew up in the midwest wearing boots. Spent a career in the military wearing boots. I stumbled across a pair of Ariat Heritage Roper boots at Wall Drug SD and decided to try them on. They are the most comfortable, well designed boots I have ever worn. I am slowly replacing all my boots for work, dress and utility with Ariat. The only boot I will wear now!!

First I would like to say I have many pairs of boots Ariats and other name brands I wear boots everyday of my life to school, work, around the house, in the pasture and even grocery shopping and normally I purchase square toe boots but I decided to buy these round toe working boots in hopes they would be more effective for my everyday wear. I purchased the brown distressed Heritage Roper boots size 7.5C about two months ago, and just like any boot I have ever owned I had to do some breaking in; the boot was extremely uncomfortable at first to where they were unbearable to wear at times. I own another pair of Ariat's that have a square toe and more for causal wear not for work and I can honestly say I do not remember them hurting so bad to break in while wearing them. After about a week the boot started to feel more comfortable but the heel is somewhat loose this does not cause me discomfort but I know boots are made to fit snug. Overall I love the look of the boot, the material, the width and the comfort and I would purchase them again I wear them everyday and I have already put them through a lot so they seem to be withstanding well.

Fantastic boot! Bought a pair in 2004 and wore them regularly for everything from working on my land to riding my motorcycle until the soles started to fall off in the fall of 2015 and the soles didn't even look too worn out yet. Wish the thread hadn't given out because i bet they'd have lasted another 5 years or so.

Boot was poorly made and sized. Left boot too tight and hard to get on wrong size? Rubbed on inside ankle both feet sore finaly healed.No rating less than one star had to go with this.

I love these boots. I needed a cowboy boot which looked great but could withstand the vigors of ranch work. This boot is great in pastures, in dirt, on the road and climbing up and down old barn frames. These are comfortable and mould immediately. Breaking in took two days and then no blisters. The scuffs rub out and the sole is great for work. Downside is getting the things on over the reinforced heel. Still using boot pulls or plastic grocery bags but we're getting there!

I've been wearing this boot for flight operations for a number of years. It has a rubber sole that makes it safe around fuel and oil found on aircraft ramps. They are not too pricey and seem to last 8-10 years.

These boots provide top-notch comfort and support with a very subtle cushiness in the insole. My feet never seem to getoverly hot or cold in these. They'resturdyas the dayislong with very durable, thickleather--I expect they'll last years. Easy to get on and off. They look practical and unassuming, but still have a stylish cut and a few light details. I get them dirty and wet in the stable, but they clean up nice. Wonderful for hard work and riding, but look and feel fine as everyday boots. Had to get a half size larger than I ever normally wear, but that's okay since they're hands-down my favorite piece of riding apparel.

I expect to be able to wear boots after a week with just socks. Not bandaids and socks. Then after a month - no socks required. The interior of these boots leaves something to be desired. The interior seems are sharp and pretty thick. So using my Dremel to take the edges off. Other than that, a quality product. Just not meant for the everyday wearer.

I love this boot! It's comfortable, sturdy, stylish, and keeps my feet warm. Some boots allow you to feel the cold through the soles, this one does not. It took a 3-4 times wearing them for a day to break in a small part of the boot where the top of my left foot was hitting the upper portion of the boot. That was definitely an issue with the shape of my foot. The boot adjusted and now they fit like a glove. I wear a 9 or 9.5 depending on the shoe. I ordered the 9.5 and I am glad I did because my toes have plenty of room and there is room for thicker socks. I call them my "tough girl boots" -- you may or may not relate.

These boots arrived on time and with correct sizing. My previous pair lasted for 4 years before I needed to replace them and have been the most comfortable boots I've ever owned. I use them for daily farm work and (sadly) mistreat them and they have held up wonderfully. Any Aussie buyers - if you want a Wide fitting instead of a, for eg. 9W, you order a 9C for a wider fit. This is also the cheapest I can find them anywhere in the world!

Size is a bit large... Wish it would take a little more shine. As a dress boot, opening of boot is a bit large for today's men's narrow leg pants. Appears a lot of pants may not be wearable with this boot. But when you are a 13 narrow, and nobody else has your size, you accept shortcomings... Boot does have extraordinary workmanship.

I got these exact boots 9 years ago, and they were a perfect fit and perfectly comfortable from the first moment I put them on. They've been my favorite footwear ever since, until they recently died and I had to find new boots. I ordered these, which are the slightly updated model of the same boot. They do not fit the same, are a little big, and the area around the heel (on the side) is very stiff and not cushioned at all. I figure they are still better than most other brands though. I just wish they hadn't changed them at all since I got my last ones. Don't understand why people keep changing things that are already a great product.

Great boots, although took a bit of 'breaking in' but now they are super comfortable. There are whole websites dedicated to "breaking in your cowboy boots' which made me laugh - lots of handy hints to avoiding the 'pain' of breaking them in the hard way. A little pain is worth it though as they are now the BEST boots :)

These boots are super comfortable, even when new and stiff. I'm still breaking them in, but no sore spots at all. They're well made, the leather darkened up after using some leather conditioner as expected, and good quality for the money. I generally wear a 8.5 in boots, but had to get these in size 8, with a little room to spare.

Poor inseam that digs into your ankles. Most boots have a leather liner over the inseam to improve the fit and comfort. Not these! I returned them and bought Cody James instead. Much better quality!

I purchased these boots going off the sizes on the Sheplers website, they are a about a size to big, I looked at posting them back to exchange but the postage from Australia was going to be nearly as much as the boots cost. I'll have to see if I can sell them and then buy another pair in a smaller size. Apart from that they look great.

I bought these for work and there are days that I literally put 3-5 miles in before the 8 hours are done. I have very wide feet and these boots fit beautifully! I have had no issues with the boots rubbing in any place that caused blisters, they didn't pinch and my feet while tired at the end of my shift don't scream at me. Love these boots and will be back to purchase another pair for my personal life.

I do like this boot, but it requires more breaking in than my Durangos. The upper is stiff and the right boot rubbed a small sore spot in the middle of my right leg the first time I wore them. They do feel a bit narrow for a B width, but they are comfortable. I wish they came in a russet red that I saw for the men's boots; I'd order those, too.

I wear a 6.5 usually but always need a 7 with Ariat. I have narrow feet but the B fitting was too tight to be comfortable. Got the C fitting and wore them straight away for a week long riding holiday and they were perfect. they look great and are super comfy with a thick sock.

I’ve had Ariat boots for over 30 years. I ordered the same boot to replace my old worn out set. Using the size printed on the boot I made my order. The new boots are more narrow and stiffer than my Oder pair. I probably will not order any more because the quality has declined.

Was recommended to buy these by a few other ladies in construction. Turns out when you only go out in the field once a week these are great, however I wasn’t so fortunate. I work in commercial construction walking upwards of 4-6 miles a day and these only lasted about 6 months. Started wearing two pairs of socks just for comfort because the soles were so thin. Might have just been because they’re round toe (heard it’s a round toe thing), but they what I would call “busted” and it would look and feel like I was walking the outer sides of my feet. Weren’t as bad to break in as I’ve heard for ariats, but recommend taking your old pair of boots with you to work for a day or too as they do run snug for a few days. Overall would buy ariats again because I don’t feel these are a great work boot- more of a hybrid or office boot.

I’ve had a few pairs of these over the years, love them, I have true size 11C feet, ordered these in 11B and they’re perfect for me, leather lined, simple boot, easy clean soles. I like these all around until winter just makes me go with a hunting boot for warmth. Great pair of general use work boots and still look great for a night out with the wife. Definitely recommend these. They need a little break in but once they’re broke they’ll be your best friends!

I have had these boots for going on 2 years and I absolutely love them! As my daily wearers they are still as comfy as ever! I couldn't imagine having any other boots working on the farm....they have held up to working the hay fields, walking through flooded muddy pastures, and being stepped on by countless horses....these are my first pair of Ariat boots and I am extremely impressed!

Ordered them in size 7 1/2 C, which is my normal size. When taking them out of the box I thought they looked narrow, but to my surprise had no problem getting them on. They are snug, but I sprayed them with "Shoe Stretch" and have been wearing them in the house hoping they'll loosen a little. They have scuffs and scratches already just from in the house!

I bought these boots about a year ago and love them so much I ordered another pair. I wear 11B (unusual) so the size availability was important. However the new pair arrived 1/2 size smaller, even though they were stamped 11B. I sent them back disappointed.

I love, love, love these boots. I got them almost 6 years ago and from fall through spring, I wear them around the house pretty much everyday. They’re easy to slip on and off and are incredibly comfortable. I’m about to get a new pair to look a little nicer when I go into town. But these still polish up well if I take the time. Now if there was the same style with more of a polished leather, I’d be all set!

These were my first western boot purchase after years of field and paddock boots in the jumper world. I purchased both these and the Round-Up Bermuda's to compare and these were a million times better looking! The biggest issue I have is the fit between the two boots. My right foot is ~slightly~ larger than my left so one shoe is always a tiny bit snugger, but generally unnoticeable. I normally wear a W 6.5 or 7 and always a 6.5 in Ariat boots. Oddly enough, the right boot of these is incredibly comfortable with just enough room, but the left is horribly tight, even painful, to put on even after a couple weeks. If anything, it should be the other way around. I actually exchanged my first pair because of this and it's the same thing in the new ones! Super odd since I haven't seen any others with the same experience... They're very nice to look at though, I'm curious how they will hold up seeing as they get marked-up very easily.

I really love the boot overall. they are so comfy and fit perfect. But I am unsure why after the 1st time use (at a cook off and no rain) why they got dark only on the tip of the boots. When I wore them the 2nd time, I had them cleaned up but they remain dark only on the tip. Not sure how else to get them back to the distressed look?

I found that the Ariat Heritage roper boots are a generous sizing both in width and length which isn't such a bad thing as I can wear woolly socks with them. I have a very high instep and did have trouble getting my feet in the boots to begin with. However, the soft leather, with a little assistance, stretched to accommodate the shape of my foot easily. The composite sole is going to be a bonus in our wet NZ winters.

I've had my ariat ropers for 5 years now and I still absolutely love them! They've held up to snow, wading through creeks, endless hours of riding in all seasons, and all sorts environments. They're the most comfortable pair of shoes I own. They also work great on my wider calf, and have a super classic look to them. 100% recommend

I owned a pair of these purchased 10+ years ago. They were incredible boots and so, after many good years of service, I replaced them 2 years ago with exactly the same boot. Unfortunately, after 2 years of wear, these boots still will not break in. I can only wear them for a couple hours and then have to take at least a week break because my ankles get so cut up. I think there is something wrong with the seam on the outside of the boots that causes them to dig into my ankle. I'm so sad because I really want these boots to work, but I think it's time to call it quits. Too nervous to buy another pair and have the same thing happen so will be looking for a different brand.

The boots took a while to break in. The outside ankle stitch dug into my right ankle. Very little padding and support on the ball of the foot area. The boots looks good and shine up well. Good traction also. They are broken in now and I am going to have them resoled. I won't buy this style again. They were way too uncomfortable to break in. I have two other pairs of Ariats (work boots) that I very much like and are made in Vietnam instead of China. Personally I won't buy any more boots made in China.

I needed these black Ropers for a Labor Day drill team competition. The timing was a little nervewracking, and the closest size was a tad big.[...] like all Ariat shoes, the boot looks great and feels comfortable. I will just wear thicker socks when I'm not on the horse!

I love this boot. It breaks in easily, the insole is super comfortable. It doesn't take much time to get used to. Great, simplistic style. Owning a boot remover helps when breaking it in, but is not necessary once the leather softens up. I didn't love the original color, but after being sprayed down with mink oil, the boots look much better. Definitely would buy these boots again and/or recommend them to others.

Really nicely constructed boot, but had to send it back for a different size. I typically wear an 8 reg, but need a 7.5W in this boot. Can't rate higher since I had to send them back for a different size. The return process is very slow and will probably lead to avoiding another order.

This boot in this size gives a bit of room if you have a high arch. A bit big around the calf, tabs are to small to get fingers in to pull on. Good work boot.

I have a wide foot and had a hard time finding a boot that also came in a c width. The first day I wore them I also brought along a pair of sneakers thinking I wouldn't be able to wear them all day, but I did! They were so comfortable. They have a nice arch and padded insole. The leather wasn't stiff, they felt like I had already been wearing them for years.

I bought these about four years ago, still super comfortable and look good. I wear size 15 and these were available. I needed something black to wear for jean days at the bank, in all kinds of Michigan weather. These far exceeded my expectations! I wear them everywhere and they still feel and look good; clean them off, spray with Lexol and wipe down. I liked them so much I've bought other Ariat boots and clothing. Large boot sizes in a large variety of styles and clothing in tall sizes!

I cannot tell you how much I love this boot.. It was very easy to break in, in fact the first time I wore it it was for9 hours and no footpainattheendofthe day. In fact Iwas looking for somethingcomfortable to wear for everyday and I am so happy I found the roper. Now let me ask all you folks how to care for this wonderful boot? I do not want to do the wrong thing and ruin my boots. I do hope I can learn to care for them to keep them safe from water and salt spots and anything else that might cause a problem.

I have bought this style ariat boot for over 15 years, and the one thing I liked best was the fact that they were comfortable to walk in with the first step. That was not true with this pair, and bottom line, they were uncomfortable. I hope they break in to where I can stand to wear them. The price has also continued to go up, and I doubt if I will buy another pair.

I was really pleased with these boots - managed to get my right size this time! Uk6 = US8 1/2 The Ariat features of a cushioned sole and rubber outer sole give fantastic comfort and a great non- slip surface for riding. The roper style boot is really good alternative to riding in cowgirl boots! They are the most comfortable boot I have EVER bought to wear straight away - boots normally need wearing in but these don't!

I have worn the same size ariats for 13 years and love them, tried similar boots on in a different color in the shop and ordered these online. I could not get my foot in them as they were too narrow, though the foot size looked like it would have fit. I am thin and pretty flexible so don't know what the problem was.

Ordered distressed brown because of the look but will buy again because of how they feel. The boots were a perfect fit 12B. Boots started feeling broken in after two days. My only complaint would be the seams are not covered, as in some other boots, and caused some rubbing on my ankles the first day. Wore a slightly thicker pair of socks the second day and then no more worries.

Bought these boots five years ago, and they are still on my feet nearly every day. I have long suffered from plantar fasciitis, but not when I wear these boots. I've worn them to work, walk, and ride, (horse and motorcycles), in sun, rain and snow. (not waterproof, but a good spray of silicone served them and me well) Not another boot comes close to their overall versatility and durability.

Can't really say much we are exchanging, they came a size smaller than I felt sure I ordered but who knows, we will see soon how quickly it was handled. They have been returned, and of course I had to pay return ship. i did however get a youth pair for my son, I bought a size larger and they are great so far, only a little more cheaply made maybe, the bottoms, were peeling the first day outside, that may be normal though I don't know. Again we will see. People always want a review before you get to really use the item.

Had an older pair for 5 or so years and they were by far my favorite boots. They came apart recently and so I wanted a new pair. I ordered a pair and got them but there was something wrong with the left boot in the arch. I returned them and tried to get another pair from a store and that was a whole process too, order got canceled several times before I actually got them, and when I get them it's the same problem. I'm really disappointed that I can't have my favorite boots again. The older model was superb, but there seems to be something wrong with the newer ones. I very sadly can't recommend them anymore.

I loved these boots but the soles are coming apart at the seams where they are stitched, I mean chucks are just coming off. I take care of my boots and condition the leather and don't do any rough work in the just basic outside work and everyday wear. They were great until this year.

I have worn boots for years, I think my first pair were like the kind Tom McLaughlin wore in the movie Billy Jack. After awhile I finally settled into wearing Justin Roper with a leather sole. At that time I was working at a dealership selling cars ,and I was wearing out the soles very quickly. In 2006 I bought a pair of these Arial Heritage Roper in black about six months later I bought another pair of Arial Ropers this time in tan with a kind of people looking grain and a black shaft. I still wear the black ones almost every day and they still look great except that the heel is wearing a little low to the outside and I am starting to put a strain on my Ankle. I just bought a new pair of Arial Heritage Stockman in black deer tan should be here Wed. My tan pair on get worn a few times a week if that so they look like new. Overall BEST BOOTS IV'E EVER OWNED By the way I was born with scoliosis between that and my breaking my ankle in 5 places in 1996 ( I still have plate and 8 screws ) that is why I wore the heel out a bit on the outside right boot.

I got the black heritage boots for Christmas and they fit so perfect and are so comfortable to wear everyday. I usually wear a size 9 in shoes but I got a 10 so that I could wear chunky socks with them. They are a little loose still with socks but still nice to have a little wiggle room. Highly recommended and great quality

I then wore them for long hours in lab in college and transitioned to wearing them 8-14 hours a day as a lab tech. They are by far the most comfortable work shoe I have ever worn. Super comfy and I love the fit. They are perfect. However after 1 time wearing them, I don't know why the color got so dark at the front tip of the boots. On the 2nd use, I had them clean them up but they remain dark only in that spot. Yes, they are scuffed but I'm not concerned about that, just the 2 toned color ??? Is that normal for these boots?

I cursed these boots throughout the three weeks of break-in, then ended up not wanting to take them off! Initially difficult to put on and a struggle to take off, they are now as comfortable as slippers and they fit perfectly, in my normal regular size and width! (I wish they were made in the USA.)

I wanted a black pair of boots because I have most of the other colors but black are hard to find in a woman's boot unless they are the fancy kind....I am a simple person and I love to wear boots.....I wear them all winter to my job and any where else I go.....I got an 8 in these boots because they only had a B width....they are a little long but a wad of cotton in the toe takes care of that....they still run a little narrow for my foot but I am hoping they will stretch....Overall...I love all the boots I have gotten from this company.

I bought these to replace and older pair of Ariat's I had. I use these for the horse barn, ride in them, muck stalls, any other chore at the barn. I really like them, they are soft and supple. My only compliant is that they run small. I am a true size 10 and I had to end up purchasing a size 11. I do not understand but glad I went to a local dealer and tried them on first. I have had them for a few months and they are holding up real well. I did buy waterproof stuff and put them on it just in case. My last boots were destroyed because I did not apply the waterproof stuff.

I bought these boots four years ago and wore them almost every day working long hours on the farm. They picked a couple hundred acres of rocks in the dust, and spent the day in mud, chemical fertilizer, and grease countless times. I wore them every day at school through the snow, as well. Finally, the inside fell apart, but everything else was still perfect. I'm just waiting for my current pair of boots to wear out so I can get another pair of these. I really like the simple look of these boots. However I couldn't get my feet in them after a lengthy 'attempts session'. Got them back from a custom boot repair shop in town today ($20 to stretch them in the ankle area), and now my feet slip in fairly easily. Wore them the balance of the day and they were getting more comfortable as time wore on. I hope that continues. NOTE: my boot guy says that because of the way they're constructed, these boots probably can't be resoled.

I visited Phoenix and picked up a pair of black Ropers for my hard to fit surgically reconstructed feet! Sadly, women’s boot selection no longer address width issues. I was elated to find the Heritage boots in black (D width) after trying on at least 20 other pairs! I liked them so much I ordered a pair of distressed brown. The brown will take a bit longer to break in due to a leas supple finish, but wearing them every day has made them more pliable. I’ve been walking along the Pacific NW rocky coast through mud, sand and salt water with my 2 high energy German Shepherd Dogs, and the boots provide a solid base of support. These boots seem to be extremely water resistant and almost indestructible! I just brush the dirt off, and I’m ready to wear them to a casual dinner! LOVE both pair but the flexibility of the brown rate them as my daily favorite! Just wish they made them in red!

Been wearing Tony Lama's for a very long time. They just felt good and comfortable. I gave in to a salesperson and tried on a pair of Ariats. Long story short, I now have multiple pair of Ariat, and it is the first brand boot that i look for. I do have one pair that just will not break in, but in truth, I just don't think i wear them enough, because of the others ones I have are already broken in and too dang comfortable.

They are everything that I expected them to be and more. I bought these a little over a month ago and after a short break in period they fit perfectly. I wanted a boot that I could essentially do almost everything and I have to say I made the right choice going with the ariat Ropers. The style looks great with my wranglers and I have no problem chasing chickens around in them. The Ropers are super easy to care for because of the simplicity of the classic design and the only cleaning I have to do at the end of the day is a couple seconds of brushing and they look like new.

These boots are my second pair. They fit beautifully right out of the box with no break-in time required. I am a teacher and stand on my feet most of the day. They are the most attractive and comfortable work shoes I wear in the fall and winter seasons. Thank you!

I'm really bummed out that these boots didn't fit because they are gorgeous! I have a really high instep from a childhood of ballet lessons and there's just no way I can work out to get these to fit since there is no wider width in my size and no half size bigger, I'd have to go a whole size bigger which would put them way too long. Such a shame because i really really love these boots. The look and flexibility are fabulous.

The boots look great, however, i ordered according to Australian sizes which don't seem to correlate with the european sizes on the chart. Consequently the boots that arrived were three sizes too large! Am still waiting for my replacements.

The fit is good, but they are a little short. They have absolutely no embroidery or styling at all. I’ve been wearing Ariat boots for 20 plus years and hate the direction the styling is going.

These are nice basic riding boots made with good, soft flexible leather. The sole is pretty flexible, also, and a little more so than my other boots. Don't know how durable they would be with lots of walking, but these would be awesome for riding. I decided I needed a little higher heel for my purposes (an old heel tendon injury) and that I need a sturdier sole for all the walking I need to do.

Worn these boots everyday since arrival about 3 weeks ago, they are extremely comfortable. No wearing in, just great straight off the shelf. Wasn't sure about what size to order from previous reviews and in the end ordered my usual shoe size and it's perfect. If I wanted to wear thick socks though, I would order 1/2 size bigger than my usual shoe size. Super fast shipping to NZ. Second purchase from Sheplers and can't fault the service. Have had one other brand of boot, and they were great, but the Ariat Ropers are even better.

I purchased a pair of the timber ropers 7 years ago and had them for 3 years. I wore them riding, mucking stalls, and everyday wear. I finally hadto purchaseanother pairwhen the leather got cutwhileI wasrepairing fence in the creek. I had been in the creek for over 2 hours and my feet had never gotten wet until a piece of buried metal sliced through the leather. I had never waterproofed them either. I bought another black pair to wear when I went out and showed, but started using them for everyday wear. Between these and my ariat loafers, I am set for everyday of the week. I wear a pair of the probabies when I go out now. Will never buy another brand. The ariats have lasted through all the torture I put them through!

Have 4 pair of Ariat boots, would not wear anything else! I really can't say enough about how they fit me perfect, and how well they wear. From work boots to my dress boots, the fit and material is excellent! I am truly a customer for life. If you have had a hard time in the past getting a good fit, give Ariat a try.

use everyday to go to town to ride horses to walk on the farm. best is quick slip on and off. stable and support almost as good as ariat ropers origanl lacers. My original lacers have many miles on them. like ats technology for support.

I love these boots. They're true to size and I love how the ankle/heel keep them from sliding off. Only thing is that they came very dark. I bought the Distressed color and they came looking oiled and brand new. I'm just going to have to distress them myself. Other than that they are reat.

Since my name is Justin, I have always worn Justin's but for this purchase I was way more impressed with quality and comfort of the Ariat. This was my Christmas present from my wife and so far I love them. I wore them all day Christmas day and that seemed enough to break them in. After a few months I'll post an update. They will be my uniform "black shoes" so should hold up well. Hope this helps.

I have wide feet and I don't normally buy before trying.. I called one of the Ariat stores and it just happened the woman I spoke to has the same problem I do with fitting shoes!!! I took her advice and bought the size she suggested and BAM! They fit perfectly!! Really happy!!!!

This type of boot is very expensive in NZ and I could never find my size. I was apprehensive about ordering from overseas until I found Sheplers great website and the boots were on sale! I found the sizing charts very helpful as this was the biggest issue for me when buying outside NZ. I chose the Ariat Heritage Roper style as I wanted a practical comfortable boot for all day wear and horse riding. The distressed look is great - I don't have to worry about scuffs etc as they oil up really nicely - like new again. These boots are the most comfortable boots I have ever worn! They provide awesome arch support. I have a very high arch and a wide foot and have always found it very hard to find boots that fit comfortably and do not hurt me after wearing them all day. I Highly recommend these boots for quality and comfort - I cannot stress that enough! The other thing I found great was that these boots are easy to pull on and off as they are nicely shaped in the arch/ankle area. I have an old ankle injury and these boots are no hassle to remove or slip on without being too loose. They also give great ankle support when my foot is in the stirrup. This style of boot is versatile as it is not overly Western looking. I am extremely impressed with this boot in every way - and extremely pleased with the prompt and professional service I received from Sheplers - the boots took no time at all to get to NZ and they are perfect - thanks!

I have had terrible luck with Ariel boots through a he years. After about a year they start squeaking when you walk. I called the company and was told to put baby powder in them each time before wearing them. I wear Tecovas now but I bought a pair for my girlfriend this year. We will have to wait and see but if they start sqeaking I’m done with ariats forever.

Sadly, I've worn a few times with thick socks, extra footbeds and even an ankle brace, but they are just too big. I ordered 8 ½ wide which should have been right, but felt like it was a 9 ½! Should have sent back right away but now am stuck with an expensive boot that doesn't fit. I had a pair bought many years ago in brown (men's size that fit) but after so many years they allow my ankle to turn. Don't know why the black ones I got recently are so big!

My daily wear boots all fall and winter. Generally last me two years a pair and relegate the old pair to beater work boots for another two years. I don't like how light the color is on the brown boot so I always oil them up with varathane straight away to darken them and keep them pretty near waterproof. Grip is surprisingly good given the smooth rubber outsole which also seems insanely durable. Never have had an actual build failure in a pair - after years they eventually just get worn out for fit and looks.

I ordered these boots because I liked the way they looked in the online catelogue. I unfortunately had to return them as they were very tight in the arch and I was unable to get them on. I did however order a same size pair of harness boots from Sheplers and they came a week later and fit great! I think anyone considering the Ariat Ropers would need to try them on to get a feel for the fit-

I’ve had these for almost ten years. Bought on a whim at a Nashville boot store. I wear them casual, dressy, work. I use them in the mud as a construction site stormwater Inspector when it isn’t muddy and they are all-day-comfy and look great with any boot cut jean. When these finally wear out, they will be replaced with the same style. Hopefully they don’t change too much between then and when. *insert kiss emoji*

I have two pairs and wear them daily. They are comfortable to walk and stand in all day. They break in fast and last a long time. I like that Ariat have narrow widths which are hard to find with other brands. For those new to western boots, they are an easy transition with the roper heel.

I do (almost) everything in these boots. I fiddle in the vegetable garden. I fiddle with the hound dogs. I fiddle my way to the store. Therearedays when Iam in these bootsfrom sunup to sundown(or longer), and they're as comfortable when I take them off as when I put them on. If Ariat ever discontinues them, I will picket!

It’s great to have a B width boot offering. It’s a nice, simple roper boot design with a very comfortable sole and cushioned insole. I can see these boots lasting for a good while. All leather upper & shaft @ an honest price. My only negative is the shaft welt inside seams. They’re rough on my ankles which has had me reaching for a thick pair of socks.

These boots were put to work the first day out of the box. I have a low volume, med width foot and I can wear the boots all day walking around pastures, etc. in perfect comfort. Very pleased with the price and I was impressed with the speed at which the box arrived on the porch.

I have found the Ariat boots to be excellent!! I order 1/2 size smaller than I normally wear and it has always been a perfect fit. I got these boots to wear in the Winter with the snow and ice. We have a lot of it in Alaska !! The lower heel and stable soles make walking easier and safer. I would highly recommend this boot for any climate.

My wonderful husband gave me a new pair when the first pair fell apart after 5 years of HARD labor. The fit (7C) is perfect. I've worn these boots through building a community garden, landscaping my own yard, shoveling broken sewage lines, construction sites , and rocky, cactus-filled pastures. LOVE these boots! I also have the Heritage Western for dress -- love them! Will never be without my Ariats. BTW, I nailed the old ones to the fence for bird abodes because I can't bear to throw them away.

I've only worn them 3 times and I can tell they are comfortable- still need additional wearing in which is to be expected. There is a Sheplers in UT where I grew up. I've bought several pair of boots there. So glad I found them on-line

Extremely fast shipping to Australia. Very big sizes, I'm a 10 AUS and used the conversion chart and the biggest size they had was 11US which converted to a 9.5 AUS. I crossed my fingers they wouldn't be too small but was surprised when they were a very generous fit, even a touch too big. Regardless, I absolutely love these, and its great having the chance to have shoes like these available to us in Aus

I have bought many pairs of these Ropers boots over the years, and I like them so much that I thought to buy another pair-(note: during Covid19..) in case this style would not be made anymore. Well... apparently, the dye color is a dark brown now- and also not distressed looking. Upsetting. I am returning them today, and hoping that with my friendly note, they will send the original color---- If so, I would buy 2 pairs. ( In case the new "distressed brown" is forever gone). The Ropers are GREAT boots! Comfortable, durable , and sweet looking!

I've had a pair of these boots for about 20 years. The pair I've had are what is shown in the picture on the website. I would describe them as "slightly darkened natural leather." I wanted to replace what I had with the same boots. There were only two choices, so - going by the pictures - I selected the one that looked like the boots I had. What I received looks nothing like the picture, but is consistent with the description "Distressed Brown." I'm okay with the color and will keep the boots, but other buyers should be aware that if they select the Distressed Brown boot, it will NOT look like the picture. It is more of a milk chocolate or chocolate brown. Seems like an easy fix on Ariat's part... just take a picture of the current Distressed Brown boot and swap it with the one being used! This is a very good boot. It's both comfortable and rugged. I've certainly gotten my money's worth out of the first pair, and expect the same from the second. I did put a pair of Dr. Scholl's insoles in them to take the comfort up a notch, and expect to do the same with the new ones.

Bought these for my son 5 yrs ago. He loved them and wore them to death working on a cattle ranch and just casually and to class. Bought some for another son and he also loves them for EVERYTHING. Now my husband wears them for everything; work and play. He’s had trouble with fasciitis and he says these boots are comfortable to work in all day.

They’re very different from the black I bought (granted, it’s been around 4 years). I’m still keeping them because as with all Ariat products, they’re very high quality plus I can wear these to show and also to the office!! The sole is really comfortable and they’re lightweight, but they’re pretty stiff and scratch easy. Minor details but thought I should add them!

The boots fit perfectly and are so comfy. My feet get really cold in the winter and these are some of the few shoes that actually keep me warm. It took a couple of weeks to break them in but they fit and feel great and add a more subtle 'cowboy' look to my outfits.

I love my new boots! The reviews I read were right on. I usually wear a size 8 or 8.5 so I was planning on buying an 8.5 figuring boots need to have a little wiggle room. Well after reading the reviews I went with the 8 and they are perfect. The Ariat is so comfortable I could wear them daily. I wish I could afford to buy more! Saving up.

I have a pair of the brown Ariat Ropers and have been wanting a black pair for a long time. I finally broke down and bought them. I bought the same size (9) as I have in brown. They might be a tad larger, but I'd still rather them be too large than too small. I wore them to a "ball" the first night and my feet held up quite well. I have terrible arthritis in my ankles and can't wear many shoes/boots long. Ariats of almost every kind are about the only boots I can wear comfortably.

I ordered the recommended size for my feet and when I received the boot, I could barely get one foot in and the other one had no way of going on and that was just with wearing regular socks, not even boot socks. The top of the boot is made in such a way, that it is tight and very difficult to slip your foot into the boot and the size runs very small. I had to send them back and order one full size larger than I would normally. Apart from that, they are very well made, look stylish, the toe is a nice shape and the stiching is very good quality and the same color as the boot. I ordered the distressed leather color and it is really nice. The soles are hard wearing black rubber. The boots are quite heavy but very good quality. You do have to allow for a little slippage on the heel, so when you do get the correct size, be aware that it will slip a little.

I recently had to change all my shoes due to needing wider shoes to accommodate orthotics and bunions. My doc tried to take my cowboy boots! I said no. My idea was to try these and it was a GREAT call. The heel is low enough so that it doesn't force pressure to the front of the boot and the width accommodates the orthotic. I use boot socks and they're perfect to wear. HIGHLY recommended for girls not wanting to give up boots for foot problems. I ordered the 7 and 7.5 to figure out what would fit better and I found the 7 to be a better choice given how this style will stretch and give. The 7.5 was already feeling too lose. And yes, I'll ride in them too!

I LOVE this boot. I bought the brown ones. The leather is excellent quality and these boots should prove to be a comfortable fit. Sadly they did not fit me, I had too much room in the toe area (It was long) so I will be returning them. I still would highly recommend them.

This is my third pair of these boots over the last ten years,wear like iron and look great as long as you polish them once in awhile.Always wear these when I ride my motorcycle since they grip the road well when I stop and bike weighs 1000 pounds so need the traction,comfortable right out of the box.

The Heritage Stockman boot was my go to boot for years, but now they've discontinued it apparently. So sad! I really liked it better than this one, style and fit-wise. I guess this one will have to do, until I find something better. And, what is the deal with all of the square toe styles? Am I the only one that prefers an almond/round toe in a roper style?

Ordering shoes or boots online can be tricky. I have found Ariat Boots come in wide width. I was able to find a pair I liked. Most cowboy style boots have pointed toes, which I cannot wear. The Roper boot has a nicely shaped toe and the toebox is a bit wider. I ordered a 7 1/2 wide and they fit me perfectly and they look great. These boots are of the highest quality and workmanship. I love them and I know I will be wearing them a lot this fall and winter. I highly recommend them for anyone who needs a wider toe box. They are super comfortable and look great.

These boots couldn't be any better. I bought the black pair. They are even better looking than the picture on the website. They look like they are way more expensive and top of the line. The leather is smooth and the boots are well put together. Then when I put them on, they were just perfect. The fit couldn't be better. They are comfortable inside and so soft as you walk. The lines and design makes them look feminine. Sturdy but light weight . I wear them all day and my feet aren't tired when I take them off. There is nothing that would make them any better. (By the way, I'm 82 years old) Love these boots.

Could not get this boot on. I have a high arch and the cut did not allow me to pull boot on even though I have other styles from the same manufacturer in the same size. Be sure to check actual fit in local store first beforing placing order. Otherwise quality and construction is first class.

I had a pair of these exact boots for 4 yrs that are wearing out. I tried several local suppliers and found they are moving more to square toe boots on the shelf. I looked inside my old pair and got the name and size to order direct. The new ones are good and stiff and need a fair amount of breaking in but I'm very happy to have them.

I switched to Ariat boots almost 25 years ago. They are well made, break in easily, and have never hurt my feet even when I'm on them all day. I'm not a fan of all the decorative square and pointed boots being sold these days so the Heritage Roper is my first choice. My last pair are 12 years old and finally ready to retire. I've had my new pair for about 2 weeks now and haven't found anything to be disappointed in. I guess we'll see if they hold up as well as the last pair.

I have the ariat hiking boots but was looking for something that would be just as comfortable yet still be a cowgirl boot. I walk a lot around the ranch and at time have had to hand walk my horse back to the barn due to his arthritis. Usually I end up with blisters in my normal cowgirl boots. However, I am very pleased to say these boots are incredibly comfortable. WORE them all day first day out of the box and had zero blisters or soreness at all! Highly recommend them

Just love these boots! Leather quality is very nice and plenty soft, the distressed brown is terrific looking. Very simple lines, perfect width. The inside gel cushioning means it feels broken in the first day, and there's lots of arch support which most other western boots are missing (returned Justin boots because they felt like a pair of stiff boxes). They run true to size, so don't feel the need to size up. I bought a half size up to wear thick woolen socks here in New England, but could have ordered my size and been happy. Might get another pair in black because these boots at this price are fabulous. Believe me, I've tried them all.....

These are my new Ariat Heritage Roper Western boots…and I love them! Super comfortable, padded sole for all day ware and only took about 4 hours of stomping around the house to break them in. I hit them up with some camp dry and gave them a quick polish to buff up the shine a bit. Easy on and easy off. Honestly, I do not use them work…I wear them out on the town with the wife. I really recommend them, tough as nails, a nice refined western look, super comfortable, at a good price…

These feel great immediately! A little hard to get on initially, but they're getting easier everytime I wear them. I needed something for horseback riding. As far as sizing, I went with a size and a half larger than what I normally wear in shoes. It's worked for me. So much so, that I ordered two pairs of them. Once I felt the first ones would work out, I immediately ordered another pair. I've had a hard time finding a good, reasonably priced, comfortable boots. I'm VERY pleased with my choice!

This boot is great for riding. I wore it yesterday in the rain, walking in a muddy coral. My feet were warm and dry. If you choose to keep them clean and not ride in them, they look great with jeans tucked in or over the boot. And they look nice with dresses. They are very comfortable and seem to fit true to size.

I wear these all day at work, and my feet have never been happier. These look great with the uniform, flex perfectly on the rudder pedals, and keep my feet warm and dry on the ramp. I treated mine with mink oil and they seem to like it. Expect to spend about two full days breaking them in, but after they do, they will feel like slippers. Keep up the good work, Ariat.

Boots looked great and well-made, but I couldn't even get the left boot on to save my life. Plus it hurt. It's usually difficult at first with the boots easing up later, but was afraid that if I could actually get it on that the fire department would be summoned to get the boot removed! The size ordered was marked correctly on both boots. The right boot slipped on relatively easy and was great. Could have been me or the boot was manufactured too narrow? Returned the boots... will try on other boots within a store setting.

Well I took my Black Heritage Roper Boots out of the box 5 hours ago and haven't taken them off since!!! These are exceptionally comfortable. And I am a buyer of Ralph Lauren (made in Italy) Botegga Venetta and Gucci.... so I'm used to quality plus. But all those other expensive boots needed some breaking in. Not these Ariats' Wonderful purchase. And I can tell that these will last for years and years. VERY HAPPY!!!

Lovely boot. Darker than the photos portrayed, but still a beautiful shade of distressed brown. You know with proper cleaning this boot will last forever, and the only thing that will do it in is wear and tear. It’s snug in all the right places, which you know will loosen up with time, It’s also remarkably comfortable right out of the box, Wish I had these thirty years ago when I was in the barn, but having them now with a nice skirt will do!

I got these boots 6 months or so ago and they are awesome! The leather is soft and very comfortable yet durable. I have had more compliments on these boots than I can count. I polished them with a little darker brown color and they are even better. I ordered a little big because I'm use to shoes hurting my feet and didn't want that this time. They did stretch like good leather does so I added inserts and now PERFECT!

I ordered a size 8 which turned out to be a whole size too large. I take a Australian size 7.5 to 8. In hindsight I should have ordered a size 7 as no half sizes are offered. A useful addition to the sizing charts would be a sole measurement. Would be very helpful for us overseas customers. Boots are great though, great quality which is what you expect from Ariat.

I have worn these boots for the past 5 or 6 months and have found them to be the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever owned! They are a bit snug at first, but after they break in, they fit perfectly! I also like the classic styling that tends to clean up nicely. They aren't heavy duty work boots, but for general use, they are great. Whenever I know that I am going to be doing a lot of walking, these are my go to boots.

This is a great boot overall. It is stiff and takes some time to break in. I ordered a wide and it’s not that wide. The leather overall is quite stiff. I’ve been wearing it almost every day for the last 10 days and it’s still not broken in yet. If you have wide feet the C width is not very wide. And, I like the boot.

I show cutting horses in the National Cutting Horse Association; these boots sit in my stirrups "just right" during competition and keep my feet comfortable for the miles I walk from stalls to the practice pen to the arena and back. They also hold up when I end up wearing them into the wash rack from time to time. I am a loyal fan and customer.

I LOVE THESE BOOTS. THEY ARE LIGHT AND EASY TO WALK IN WHEN NOT ON MY HORSE. THE ONLY THING I WOULD DO IF I WERE THE MAKER IS MAKE THE SOLE A LITTLE WIDER THAN THE BOOT PART AT THE PINKY TOE AREA SO THE STIRRUP DOESN'T LAY AGAINST THE PINKY TOE/FOOT AREA OF THE BOOT

I love my ariat western boots they are so comfortable I’ve worn them as work boots for the last three years and they still haven’t fallen apart! Love them!!

These run a little big. One boot fits well, but the other hits the bridge of my foot and causes a rub when I walk. The boot is nice looking, good leather, should work well when I get the correct size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I wanted a pair of western boots that would be comfortable to walk long distances in when I’m out with friends, running errands, etc. I have a pair of Laredos, but they will make my feet hurt after a while. So I did a lot of research trying to find a pair that would work well, and settled on the Ariat Heritage Ropers! At first, they were very comfortable. I broke them in around the house. But when I tried to walk for a while, they gave me blisters on my heels and pinched/hurt my toes and balls of my feet. I’ve tried moleskin, but it doesn’t help that much. I’m really sad, because I was so excited to wear these!! They’re my first pair of Ariat’s so I’m not sure what the others are like, but I hope I can find a pair that works well for my needs!

I’ve had 3 pairs of these boots, all of them have lasted me at least 3 years, which is amazing for a pair of boots that I work horses in. The only thing that ever broke on just one of the pairs I had was one of the pull loops from pulling them on and off so much. Super comfortable for anyone to wear. Overall an amazing pair of long lasting boots that can take a lot of abuse and constant wear and tear!

I have 3 pairs of the Heritage Ropers in distressed leather all size 7b. They fit great and have worn 2 pair for over 10 years. Recently got another pair & loved them so much I wanted black. I cant even get my foot into any pair size 7b in the black leather. 7.5b is ok, but loose in the heel on all pairs I tried on. What the heck is going on with the black Heritage Ropers? So you ask if the size is true, not in black, & the width? How can I know if I cant even get my foot into them? So I would recommend definitely the Heritage distressed, but not the Heritage Black. And by the way, since you discontinued the stitching on the toe of the Heritage Roper you have lessened the attractiveness of the boot in general so I only wear them for work anymore, except the one pair I do have with the stitching I treasure. I wish I knew you were going to do that as I would have taken better care of them & bought several more pairs while I could. So to anyone that loves their Ariats, buy more than one pair while you can, because you never know when the style will change and you are out of luck.

Needing a nice dress for work , I took a chance on A high roper boot. I love nice shoes and boots for work (Danner, Wolverine, ect..) And I hear how nice these boot feel. NOT for me! Feet are tied , sore , and I feel 100 yr. old the next day ! Worse Money Spent on shoes ever !!!

I bought the boots in a larger size so I could wear the boot socks; however, the socks, while not really thick, cannot be worn with the boots. And if I had bought boots in an even larger size, the boots would have been too big to be comfortable. I ended up wearing a much thinner sock than I wanted. But, the boots are still comfortable, and I wear the boot socks around the house.

Love these! I bought them true to size. I ride 10-12 hours a week, which involves a lot of dirty barn work. These are so comfy and amazing! I oiled mine (mink oil paste) before wearing to ensure water tightness, which darkened them to a rich chocolate brown so be aware of the initial worn look going away. I bought these instead of the teal/brown similar ones because I knew they would end up with the rough look shortly if not worn just for dressy occasions. 10/10 love them.

Fantastic shipping times. Less than a week. Great rates for Australia. This would be my 5th pair. Used Ariat for decades. Long lasting, comfortable riding/work boots that are used all day, every day - rain, hail or shine. Measure length of foot for correct sizing. Can run a bit large with US to Aust sizing comparison.

My first Ariats - after reading other reviews I went with my regular size (sometimes I am half a size larger, but I stuck with the smaller size) and they are a perfect fit. I have a fairly narrow foot and the B is great. Hard to get on the first few times when new (really hard) but softened up quickly now they are perfect! I got these for work boots and look great with Jeans and the distressed leather avoids that 'new boots' look.

GREAT boots! got them for the country, i think they will do the job nicely. very comfy. they are a little narrow and a tad long but still fit fairly well. third pair of boots i have ordered from you guys are i am not disappointed. will continue to order from you!

I bought my pair of these over four years ago. I have worn them almost every day since I bought them. They have been ridden in taken throughcreeksandmud.They have beenstepped on by horses painted on. I havedonealmost everything in these boots. They are just tough. Most of my boots do not last more than a year. When I finally manage to wear these out I will be buying me another pair.

I love Ariat boots. I like the way they fit, feel, and their longevity. I use these boots for church and most other social outings. I like that they are readily available. There form and function is second to none and I’ve been wearing Ariat boots exclusively for probably the last 7 years. I’m constantly looking in shoe stores and western stores for my next new pair of Ariat boots. And, they look good on a dance floor to boot.

I wear these boots for every-day riding. I think they are true-to-size, but they may actually run just a tad large. That's OK...I can wear thicker socks. The only con I've noticed is that I need taller socks to keep the boot tops from chafing my shins.

This is my first pair of Ariat boots. (First pair of cowboy boots.) I think this Roper boot is great. Extremely comfortable, easy break-in,andnotto mentionlookgood. Makethis boot in an 11 or12 inch andyou'll have the perfect boot.

I wear these boots when riding on the back of the Harley with my husband. I have received many compliments. The boots have a cushiony feel on the bottom are keep my feet cool and comfortable. They are just a little stiff but I hope they will loosen up with time.

I've had these boots for about two weeks and I couldn't be happier with them. I am wearing them all the time to break them in, but in reality they felt broken-in after about an hour, so I guess now I am wearing them all the time because they look and feel great. I agree with a previous review that they scuff fairly easily (not horribly so) but I consider that a 'feature' rather than a 'bug'. I don't want to look like a city slicker, even if I am one!

This review is for wide only! The only acceptable wide option for women by ariat. I purchased multiple pairs of my shoe size in wide and these were the only well fitting pair. If you’re gonna make a wide shoe commit and make that wide shoe! The included sole is comfortable, and if you prefer a shoe to stays looking shiny and unworn these are not for you. After several days of use they started to look distressed. That is my preference but not everyones! Some people said this shoe feels cheap but I disagree. I think the other options in wide do though. Ariat, tall women exist. Please accommodate and make a bigger selection of actually wide shoes. Running small helps no one and we want to feel cute too!

My right foot is slightly wide and Ariat boots are all that I can wear. I have this boot in both brown and black. Wear them everyday, all day. They are as comfortable as athletic shoes. The heel is the perfect height.
