I filled these boots full of water twice and wore them around town. One solid blister later and some polish and these boots are as soft as butter. 4 stars only because they don't come in black.

Bought these boots and so glad I did! I have bought Tony Lama work boots for 5 years until this year when I decided to try these! Extremely comfortable and wears great, even passes for a dress boot when I don't have time to change after work (just rinse them off), I water-proofed mine. Tough boot for a guy who works concrete construction and does foundation work!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve had these for about a year and they’re really nice work boots about 70% of the time, the fit is pretty standard for boots (.5 size too big) and break in took about three weeks. My only issue is that the outsole is terrible in the cold, around 30 degrees it gets hard as a rock and becomes very slippery even just on frost covered chip seal. It was -15 with a quarter inch of snow last week and I would have rather had a pair of Chuck Taylors while trying to load out of the job site. Otherwise they have been doing pretty well for the amount of abuse I’ve been putting them through.

I normally wear a size 13W in shoes but in boots a size 14EE fits me better. I just need to break them in.

I have had my boots for about 3 or 4 weeks now got them broke in and noticed some of the stitching is already coming apart the boots are comfortable but they now wont keep my feet dry when i am caught in the rain i am a mechanic and get caught in the rain often

This is my second pair of Cascades from Ariat. I really, really wanted to give 5 stars in my review. Sadly, the best I can do is 4.5 stars. The positive first. 1. This look great straight out of the box. 2. The fit is dead on. Order your normal boot size! Seriously, this fit me with my orthotics and work socks without having to stretch the boot. 3. The toe box, if your anything like me, and have to order wide width boots, the toe box is never big enough. These are big and roomy, without being clown shoes. Now, why I felt I had to knock them. 1. They sit differently then my round toe Cascades. When I lace these up I have to be extremely aware of my metatarsal bones. The lacing sits crossed directly on the metatarsal in the square toes. So I have to lace tight, loose over the metatarsal, then super tight the rest of the way up to prevent nasty heel slippage. 2. Heel slippage. These just sit differently, and as such took about 2 months of break in to not give me blisters and hotspots. 3. Minor inconveniences: the speed hooks started to rotate when I'm lacing them up. The 3/4 leangth tounge eats up alot of shaft area. Takes me longer to get in and out of these then the round toe version. 4. Lastly, and this is an almost universal thing for me. The kettle guards from Ariat, they are at most the bottom lace and 1 hole up. So they don't give the extra support to the rest of the boot. So, over all I do recommend this, and the round toe version. I work as an Agricultural Inspector, and am in standing water, mud, wet plants, chemicals, etc... daily. My feet stay dry (Leather treatment every 4 months (leather conditioner every 2 weeks). They give great ankle support, and protection to the foot. Oh, and I do replace the laces with Kevlar laces ASAP so I only burn through 1 pair of laces a year on my boots.

They rubbed the back of my heels and I waited for them to heal over time— then I noticed my heels are messed up and bone deformity.

The 8 inch lace up cascade Alamo brown steel toe wide very durable last weekend. I walked 50 miles in them and they’re kind of uncomfortable. I walked the 50 miles to break them in but no matter how how much I tighten them. They’re loose in an area right below the 8 inch lace lace up and they’re too tight down at the bottom above the above the toes and no matter how much I tighten them down. It’s still kind of just loosen area even though they’re the correct size of my toes are where they need to be. They just the boots don’t don’t tighten tighten down well, and on the left kind of rubs above the Achilles heel normally wear the same boots without the steel boots I can do them. I can run them. I can hit the treadmill. I can be in the gym. I can cook. I can clean if they’re like a pair of tennis shoes to me and these these boots just close but no cigar.

Overall want to give these a great review; look great, and fit great. Honestly, thought I found my new favorite pair of boots. I've had them less than 30 days and only wore them around the garage and to mow the yard, knelt down on the concrete and when I stood up noticed a spot on the toe that wore through the outer layer. My previous boots I had for 4 years and did much more rigorous work in without ever having this issue. Very dissappointed to say the least.

I bought these boots a month and they are working perfect for what I need. After they are broken in they are very comfortable.

I received these in a very short time period after I placed the order, they are always quick in this area. Once I got them I applied a treatment of heavy duty spray silicone which darkened them up to a perfect shade for working around the animals and equipment not showing as much staining /marking. No break in period required and have been wearing them daily doing chores & going to town; very comfortable glad I got them.

I live in northern Utah in a warehouse capacity and I wear these all day with no problems. I'm currently on week 3 and the boots are starting to break in. At first they feel stiff around the toe crease but once they start breaking in it goes away. It's currently snowing and the boots have held up very well. Traction is great. I feel very secure with my footing. I pair these with a good set of boot socks and I'm good to go. I'd definitely buy these again but I'm curious to see what else Ariat has to offer first :)

My husband loves his work boots. He also rides his horses in them. They are standing up to the test he puts them through daily.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had my square toe Cascades about two weeks. Normally I wear in tennis shoes a 10 or 10W, ordered 9.5W and the fit is just right. Break in was unpleasant, took about a three mile lap at a large zoo and a couple days of work (wear thick socks and maybe bring a couple bandaids). The boots look really good, are easy to put on, and comfortable to stand, sit, or walk in. One of the few lace up square toe options on the market.

Good looking boot, and began to get comfortable after break in, but as someone else wrote there is something in the way the toe box bends that crushes my big toe on the right foot. Unfortunately makes them unwearable especially for a full day of work. They seem pretty durable, was hoping to wear these for some time to come but after a couple weeks it looks like I’m going to have to just donate them since they’re not returnable

While i love this boot . It could use a little more padding in the bottom . So i pulled out the original insole and put in a Ridgecut boot insole which are really the thickest out there among boots. Problem solved !

By far the best pair of work boots I've owned. I hike Utility right of ways all day and they definitely hold up great.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The shank in the back of the Achilles heel really digs into the Achilles hill only on one boot the boots fit good other than that it’s almost a perfect boot, except for the fact that they don’t tighten down all the way when I tie my boots up and I lace up. It’s still kind of loose back there above that shank and it’s just too low. It needs to be higher or it needs to not be there. Maybe a softback would be better but it’s just rubbing up against my Achilles hill and it’s blistering pretty bad. I walked 50 miles in my boots to break them in and it’s still doing it.

A great work boot for the outdoors. Pretreat the seams and threads with water repellent and allow to dry before using and your feet are certain to stay dry from in climate weather or standing water.

I've never had a pair of boots this uncomfortable. Red wing, Irish Setter, Danner, Georgia, and Whites; none have had a break in even close to as bad as these. Blisters after one day, shaft gives be bruises when I bend at the knee, opening bruised my calves. Look good and seem well made, though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these boots in October of 2021, so far they have been great. It took a full week to get them broke in, but after that they’re a very comfortable boot. I work construction/oil&gas and so far they’ve held up really well.

I purchased these boots as I needed some lace up and not pull on style square toe boots. They fit slightly tight to start with but loosen up within a couple of days. The leather is Nubuck and that was a surprise as it was not mentioned in the description, but works very well with this type of boot. The square toe looks great on these boots and is a nice change from the pull on style of boot. The sole is excellent and I think ARIAT have made a winner with this new style of sole, far more stronger than the "rambler" sole.

These are really some comfortable boots. The wide toe is great for me. They are easy to lace up and feel good on my feet for 12 plus hours a day. Break in takes a few days but isn’t too bad. Just wear some decent socks and you should have no trouble. All in all I really like these boots. They seem very well made and I don’t see any reason that they wouldn’t last for a long time.

i bought these about 1 month ago and ill never buy another boot again. my company requires lace up boots and this is the best overall lace up boot ive ever put on. broke them in about a solid week. at first they fit snug on the top of my foot but after a day they adjusted to my foot

I bought a pair of these right out of high school when I first went into the work force. I had my first pair for two years doing everything from farm work to industrial work 60-70 hours a week. Stupidly I tried a few other brands after those wore out (Georgia, rocky, twisted x) and I’ve finely come back to these. A year of construction work later and they’ve still got a lot of life left. They will rub blisters during the break in period if you don’t wear thick socks but don’t let that scare you away because it doesn’t take long. The only complaint I have is they are not at all waterproof. Can’t make money without good boots and these are all I’ll wear

I bought these to do forestry work in. Lots of walking over rough terrain and brush and briars. These boots are incredibly comfortable and tough. I always loved lacers for ankle support and how nice and professional square toe boots look. Ariat really hit a home run with these bad boys. Would absolutely buy these again, and plan to if these ever tear up.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The stiletto version has a shank in the back of the Achilles hill that really digs into the Achilles hill and for some reason it only does it on one boot, no matter how tight I lace up my boots. It just doesn’t get tight back there. The Achilles’ heel grabs the back of the heat, the plastic shank but then above it it’s just loose and it just rubs away gives me a blister on my left foot. I usually get the 8 inch cascades without a steel toe and they’re wonderful. I was almost born with them on my feet. It feels like, but the ones with the steel toe have the plastic shank on the back

I wore a pair of these boots for two years starting in 2019. In early 2022 I bought a new pair and they were very different. The bones on the sides of my ankles rub bloody and my left bid toe is pinched and sore, and I swear they are hotter! I gave the two stars for good quality, nice laces, and a good looking design. Just watch out if you're a re-purchaser.

Again super comfortable. But six months of use and the leather across the steel toe is completely split and cut through.

I really like the boots! Break in time was normal for a pair of work boots. They fit about 1/2 size bigger than my Ariat slip on boots which annoys the heck out of me because now i am wearing 2 pairs of socks everyday invthem so they dont slide around.

I've owned my cascades for about 2 years now, they are my favorite boots. I'm a big Ariat fan, so when I needed a lacer I bought these and I'm so glad I did. Heel cup took a bit to break in, they were wearing blisters on my ankles (I'm used to looser cowboy ropers) but I bought some mole skin and dealt with it. They offer so much support but are so lightweight, durable, and comfortable. I commute on a motorcycle daily, work in a medium duty shop, and am constantly active on weekends, they hold up very well to all of it. These boots have conformed to fit my feet very well and they're comfortable even after being on my feet (on concrete) all day. I don't require a steel toe though I've seen they make one in these, I'd buy them if I did. I've owned 2 pairs of the Phoenix ropers, two pairs of the heritage stockman, and a pair of Tycoons, I absolutely love Ariat boots for what I need and the cascades are a perfect daily work horse boot.

Very comfortable boot, can be worn to work or just casual wear.. I've done both with this particular boot. Comfortable inside padding with Great support. Something sometimes underappreciated is the Great gripping power of the underside of the boot can not and will not let you slip.

After sizing and research, I purchased the cascade style #10002420 (non-square toe that can no longer be found) in September 2021. I was interested in something that would endure long days and be repairable in the hopes of having them for a long time. Not even 6 months later and they have been the worst fitting boots I’ve ever encountered. I am back to wearing my old work boots because these cant even be worn a whole day. The forefoot moves about as if it is too large but the painful bruising these cause to my pinky toes are as if too small, either way, by measurements it’s the “correct” size. So disappointed and now stuck with unwearable, unusable, painful boots. They are not falling apart though; I do give Ariat that

I love Ariats. Have had them for years and always recommend anyone to the brand, however, I bought these shoes at the start of covid 19 pandemic and returning to work has been terrible. I have blisters, terrible pain at the top of my feet, the boot soles are so thin and feel every rock I go over. I do not recommend these boots to anyone with wide feet. The stitching of the actual boot will run right over the bridge of your foot where you need the space the most. Do not let the lace up fool you, like it did to me. I have tried oiling, stretching, just about anything you can think of nothing has helped to soften or loosen up.

I struggled finding a good looking work boot for women especially with a square toe. I fell in love with these and took a chance ordering a 7D in mens, im usually 7 1/2 through 8 1/2 in womens depending on the boot and these fit perfectly. You can feel the quality right when you put them on.

Recently broke these boots in & enjoy the sleek western vibe along with that “dads boots by the door.” Look. I wanna say it’s the same “High Sierra” rail road boot but lace style. I’ve worn that Sierra boot twice in a row (Great Pull On). Only Complaint is if there can be more wider options (EE) & a new finish choice. Willing to buy another pair again none the less.

I am one month into my purchase. So far i am more than happy. Use the boot sizing chart when purchasing, it saved me time of a possible return.
