My biggest issue with the boot is the soles ware out too fast. I like the fact they finally put a hole on the tongue for the laces to go through to help keep the tongue in line. They are very stiff at first, but they break in quite well, and are comfortable afterwards. I have purchased the same pair over the last 3-5 years. They usually last about 8-9 months before the soles wear to where they become uncomfortable.

As usual Danner boots are exceptionally well crafted. It took about a week to break them in, but once they were broken in, they are just as comfortable as any of the other Danner boots I own. Will definitely buy another pair in the future.

I bought 2 pairs of these boots for my husband. He needed new ones and loved the first pair so I instantly bought the second for back up and just nice evenings out. The first pair ended up smelling like cat pee after a month and we DO NOT OWN ANY ANIMALS! He soaked them with vinegar and it didn't work then used Danner boot cleaners and it didn't work then soaked in laundry soap (just the sole) in the bathtub over night and it didn't work. They stink so bad that he can't wear them at work or even public bc of the smell. He then started using his other pair and it's been a little over a month and the smell started again! It's like once you hit the second month your doomed! So disappointing bc they look great and he loves them and super comfortable after the break in process by now they are useless! I can't recommend these solely bc it happened to both pairs not just one! Good luck!

These boots have everything a Moc toe should have and overall i’m very happy with them, i’m an electrician at a large plant and do a lot of walking, so breaking them in was a bit tough as there is not much padding around your ankle. The color of the brown boot is spot on for a casual boot as well, would recommend for sure, just be ready for a blister or two breaking them in!

I wear a 10 in just about every shoe I own. I ordered a 10 and had to return it for a 9.5. Free return. Quick turnaround and I love the boot. It’s a little stiff at first but I applied some Nikwax and mink oil and now I love them. Great boot so far. Oh I also got the 9.5 wide EE.

I wish danner still manufactured these with a heavy duty sole for outdoor . Instead of the only option being buy the lighter "indoor" duty sole to wear out first to have to re tread. Otherwise 100% awesome boot. Comparing against some of my other Wesco and non PRC made boots. Love them will buy again. (Bring back waffle tread please danner)

I was recommended moc toe style boots because my feet are narrower - I was expecting these to be too roomy but the fit is excellent with a thick insole. Used the boot dressing to soften them before use and the break in has been easier than I've experienced with other boots. Very happy with these so far

The shoes look great and treatment is awesome, but I was disappointed in the consistency and comfort. First off, the shoes are not very comfortable. It does not offer much in the arch support department. I could not see myself wearing these all day and be on my feet. The boots are beautiful, except there was a significant difference in material of the tongue. The right shoe has thick stiff leather material the left shoe tongue material was much thinner and flimsy. I assumed this was manufacturing error and I was going to exchange, but I couldn’t be bothered shipping them back and wait another couple weeks. Ultimately, the issue didn’t bother me enough to exchange the boots, but it did make me think differently about the overall craftsmanship of Danner boots. Overall, I think these boots are chic, but I would consider going elsewhere.

Nice boots but I am basing my 1 star review on the fact that I feel Danner did not honor its warranty. My boots were returned within the warranty period for what I still believe is a material or manufacturing defect in one of the boots. They were very lightly worn and well cared for. Danner would not refund, replace or offer any discount on the original price of the boots. Very disappointed; if you have a warranty it should be honored or some explanation given for a defect in the boot.

I have had these just over a year. Aside from the fact that the tongues have never stayed in place and there is no padding in the uppers, the stitching along the laces and around the toe gave out less than a week after the warranty expired. I don’t necessarily think it’s indicative of Danner as a whole, but this specific boot isn’t worth it.

One of the toughest things about wearing size 15 shoes is finding anything in my size that is stylish, comfortable and durable. I honestly feel like I've found that in the Bull Run Moc boots. I looked at boots with similar styling from other manufactures but they only went up to size 13 or (maybe) a size 14. I was pleasantly surprised when I ran across Danner. I'll admit, I don't work in construction nor any other strenuous job that requires manual labor. I do ride Harley Davidsons and need a quality riding boot that allows me to walk in comfort when I'm out attending events or walking at different sight seeing adventures. This boot addresses all of my wants and then some. As a retired U.S. Navy veteran, I have problem with my feet from wearing military boots for 20+ years, so I know a good boot when see them. This is a good boot.

The shoe is very comfortable while standing only and it looks great. The problem however is the soul is completely flat and does not cater to the natural walk putting all the stress on the front part of my foot. I had to see a doctor to get treated for a foot issue that that shoe caused. I want to love that shoe I truly do I hope danner realizes this issue and puts a curve on the toe end of the shoe to cater to a natural walk. Please contact me danner so we can discuss. Break in period was a little rough. Double folded leather on the tongue was tight on top of my foot. Got them to replace a pair of Keen San Jose Soft Toe boots for work. They seem to be of good quality and craftsmanship. They look nicer and in time might feel nicer, but they lack the ability to resist slipping on wet and oil shop floors at work. If I'd have known they would be this slippery on oil I probably wouldn't have bought them.

Very happy with the boots. Was surprised that they actually do fit true to size. I chose to go 1/2 size up because I like to put extra insoles in. My feet were killing me after working on concrete all day in my old boots. My feet don’t hurt until the last hour or so of work now. Overall quality of construction of the boot is good. Stitching is tight, attachment of upper to soles appears sturdy and craftmanship and appearance of the boot is nice. Biggest complaints are that the amount of leather used to construct the tongue of the boot is too narrow. height of the boot is too short and when laced the area between the eyelets is too wide. It feels to me that the amount of leather used to construct the boot was insufficient. I purchased the boots based on an on-line review and was impressed with the fact that these were less expensive than other boots made in the USA, I guess by decreasing the amount of leather used to construct the boot makes them less expensive to manufacture. I try to by American made but I don't think I will be purchasing Danner in the future.

I’ve bought two pairs of these boots, the steel toes and these with a soft toe. The lacings wore out really quickly, the soles are what make this a 1 star… the metal sole support of both boots has made its way through the sole and I walk on iron and depend on the soles doing their job. The metal bridge support in the soles works it’s way out and makes the wedge sole defective.

Ok this might but kinda long i don't think anyone knows what true to size means, on The brannock device im a 10.5 on the dot with narrow feet and but my redwings, nikes, Converse and basically all shoes im a 9 and my pf flyers im a 10 but i like a tighter fitting shoe maybe like 1/4 of freespace with normal cotton socks and these fit just like how i wanted them and i kinda took the chance with this size because i had an 8.5 with the danner rats and they were just slightly to short. As for the boot the leather is thinner and the sole is not a vibram sole it seems to be an eva sole covered in rubber like a sneaker would which is honestly is perfect because the jobsite im on right now is a lot of walking im clocking in daily about 7miles on my apple watch and the gc was complaing i was wearing my sneakers and not boots ( im a tile setter and the site is at a resort doing repair work in each unit so i figured it would be perfect with all the kneeling and running unit to unit setting tile). anyways that being said i thought it would be better then my steel toes and iron rangers i guess what took me off guard was the break in, i have been wearing them for 12 hours for 4 days so far and they still are pretty stiff first day i took my steel toes off and put them on and went to work in the morning and i loved the feel of the foot bed but at the end of the day gave me bloodly blisters on the top of my feet after that two pairs of socks the rest of the time and the last day soaked them with the hose before work to help and i think it did the trick. I guess bottom line if you want heavy duty boots these are not it but for looking good and moving around alot or just not really caring if they will last because its a great price for a boot thats made in the states good for it. ps i know there is shims in the boot to give arch support which i think its neat because boots with heels do that but people complaining about it comming out of the soft outsole over time, just get pliers and pull that baby out you dont need it alot of moc toe boots dont even have is (thats what im gonna do if it happens )

Build and look are both great, love them. Fit is where I have a minor issue. The area at bottom of the right shoe lace is tighter on that foot than on my left foot. I believe it will correct itself with some stretch over time but for now it is not as comfortable on my right foot as my left.

I really like these boots but..... not for everyday use. I wear the daily for agriculture work. The first pair I had the metal boot lace pull out of the boot. Danner was good and sent me a new pair at no cost. The second pair I haven't had a for a year and the stitching has let go. Again, I really do like the boots style, comfort are great. I've given it two chances to hold up to everyday wear and it seemed it cannot.

I last purchased a pair of Danner's over 25 years ago and they are still going strong. The Bull Run Moc Toe 6" appears as it will get well into the next 25 years and beyond. The feel is amazing comfortable right out of the box, and it will get more comfortable as I wear them more and more. I wore them to a 5k swim competition/fundraiser, Swim With a Mission in New Hampshire (after the swim) and I got numerous compliments for the way the looked, Good job Danner!

The boots broke in quickly and are very comfortable. I found the tongue to be a bit odd. There seems to be a bit too much material where the tongue transitions from the top of the foot to the ankle. This causes the tongue to pucker on one side. It is not a big problem it just looks a little strange. I have high arches and can't get my foot into most slip on boots - maybe this is the reason I don't get the pucker on both sides of the tongue (which would look better). Anyway, great boot!

Idk yet. I put them on the other day. Fit good. I'm still wearing my first pair. Only difference of the two are the width. My first is wide and the new pair is regular. What I like is that the boots are made in 🇺🇲🇺🇲and it should that way for all products. Bring back our old ways where Americans are put to work for American made goods. My Danners are built right,fit right,and where I work at,which is at a cattle feedlot most boots can't go long in the acid that's in the cattle poop as yours does but good care will last a good while. Lasted a good year and a half. The stitching along the toe came undone on both boots. Fairly easy break in period and very comfortable. I just wish they were made with a stronger thread. If you squat down for work a bunch I wouldn’t recommend for the stitching will come in done at the scrunch point.

I gave a rating of four because I'm frustrated with the tongue. I don't feel the tongue wants to naturally follow the contour across the top of my foot, up my ankle and onto my shin. I've been trying to manipulate the tongue to achieve smooth coverage and avoid creases and overlapping material without success. I am happy with the wide toe box and look the boot presents.

I’m writing this from an electricians perspective because that’s what I do for 8 to 10 hours a day. But I’m in the boots from 4:30a to 7:30p every day. I worked this week on a construction sight that had dirt trenches to concrete floors. Climbing 10’ ladders and shoving dirt. The boots are holding up well to what I’m doing but I find I’m retying the boots very often and they are coming loose all day. I added an insole for a little added comfort. The sole has been very surprisingly nice on ever surface even climbing out of dirt trenches 4’ deep. Gravel has gotten inside but not as bad as I thought it might. One thing I would be nice is a loop on the back to help pull the boots up as I put them on but I’m doing fine getting them on. I ordered a size 11 D because I have had other Danner boots that fight loose. The with is great but I’m not sure if I should have ordered a 10.5 instead. As I wear them over the next months, I know they will become better fitted to my foot as all my other Danners have. Thanks

Ordered these boots for work. Have worn Red Wings in the past and liked them okay, and have really gotten into wearing Thorogoods the past few years. Figured I’d give these Bull Run’s a shot, and so far they have been great! Quickly broken in, and you can tell the quality is there for sure. I initially ordered them in a 11.5 D because I have never worn wide boots. I tried them on and they felt extremely narrow. I couldn’t move my toes. I sent them back for the 11.5 EE, and they are perfect. Definitely recommend the boots, but if you are debating between a D width and EE, you would be safe to choose the EE in my honest opinion.

Owned these for a month and a half. First the fit. Initially they were rather tight in the vamp and instep. I usually wear superfeet green insoles in all my boots but had to use the superfeet carbons instead just due to the top of foot tighteness. After 2 weeks of wear at work they finally broke in enough that I could switch to my usual insoles. Comfort is pretty good. Use your own insoles if you have picky feet as there is basically no arch support. With my insoles I had no impact related pain nor plantar fasciitis pain. My biggest gripe however is the quality of the leather. I use these as work boots which is how they are marketed, I work distribution in a post office. Biggest issue is the leather is too soft for harsh environments. After 1.5 months I have gouges and cracks. I expect the same would occur in mechanic and construction trades. I bought these hoping to have them resoled once I wore them down but at the current rate they are going the leather will be shot before the soles are. Please Danner, get some tougher leather. I love the look, I got the fit dialed in, but the durability is lacking. TLDR: Looks great, tight instep and vamp, leather too soft to hold up to hard use. Pretty boots, not work boots for hard use.

These boots are exactly what I was hoping they would be. Not that they were uncomfortable out of the box at all, but they have “relaxed” around my foot after a few weeks and I mean that in a good way. The tongue has all but formed around my foot under the laces and the boots are just getting to the point where they get more comfortable every time I put them on. No initial concerns about quality or defect throughout the boot and I couldn’t be happier with how they look and feel. I’m mostly in an office setting but regularly all over the place in my job and these boots are hard to beat across the sprectrum of work surfaces excluding hard core construction type sites although I’m sure the steel toe version would be fine there too. All around, could not be happier with this boot.

The shoe runs about a half size larger than normal, but I didn’t realize until they were broken in a little bit. The laces rub the top of my foot causing pain because the tongue is so thin and that inhibits how tight I can lace up the boot. Really stuff where my heel sits.

These are my favorite pair of Danner boots! They have a simple, single-layered leather construction that broke in like a glove on my feet. I have big, wide feet and the 13EE fits me perfectly. It is a joy lacing these up every morning. Despite not technically being waterproof, they are very water resistant. My feet have never been wet while wearing these, even in the rain and through wet grass. I highly recommend Bull Run boots for work, around the house, or around town.

First all, let me say that I am huge fan of Danner boots and shoes. The 3 pairs of hunting boots I use for various seasons are Danner and my hiking and steer shoes are Danner. Unfortunately, for whatever reason, the Bull Run boots do not work for me. Unlike my other Danner products, I thought these may need to be broken in. After wearing them for a week or so, they just don’t fit me well. As much as I want to love them like my others, these are not the work boots for me.

This is the second pair of Bull Run's that I have purchased. Got the first pair 4 years ago. Ordered these as the originals were getting resoled, witch is a great feature with these boots. They are stiff at first, but once broken in they are very comfortable, they last forever and still look good.

Bought these to use as a knock around chore and work boot. Initial comfort and break in were decent. After modest wear soles were already starting to wear down, these are not non slip boots at all. 2 months in insoles are shot and I had to replace. 4 months in and the stitching is unraveling. Soles are unreasonably worn considering most of their life is on grass/dirt and non concrete floors, and I am only wearing them after work. Leather in the boots is starting to crack despite caring for them. Overall wear is very uneven between boots one looks like a different pair altogether when looking at leather. Bottom line - these are not close to worth the price. Buy Red Wing if you want American boots.

Almost everything about them is great. The only complaint is the tongue is a little misshaped on one boot so it folds up strangely with the edge of the fold being visible. I'm a little worried water and dirt is going to get in at this point and i've done about everything i can think of to fix it. Not sure if the stitching is too low or the leather was cut wrong.

Over all I'm pretty happy with them. As some reviews have said, they take a while to break in. My last mock toes were a pair of Thorogoods that had severe manufacture errors. Ive been wearing them for about 14 hrs a day for the last month or 2 and they still have a lot of breaking in to do. Using mink oil the Thorogoods broke in within a few days.

Absolutely incredible boot. I have never worn a better pair of “shoes”. In my life. I say shoes because I think I could jog in these. The break in period was a little rough but who cares. Miles a day I walk and still don’t want to take them off when I get home. One problem I have now is I’ve completely worn them out. Pretty minimal, so will need a custom insert for my high arches, but a good fit, overall, & solid build ( I ordered my actual foot size; use a Brannock device & shut-up about wrong fit). Wonder about soles being kind of slippery on smooth surfaces, but I’m usually in field with work boots, not in garages, etc. Also a little worried about back of heel area wearing out & chafing, long-term, but I can’t assess that, after only having them for a couple of weeks. Had no idea that Lacrosse owned Danner (box had that name on it). Hope that doesn’t result in outsourcing more models, as I really value the US production. The tie grommets should just be closed loops all the way up; those “studs” are quick but frustrating if you wear normal pants & not tapered ones. The styling is awesome, & I love that they are retractable.

Well...couple comments. They oak great however I wore them one morning on a short walk to break in and ended up with 2 serious deep blisters one on each heel...which prohibited me from wearing for a couple weeks. Danner provided some boot dressing to help with break in. Still not there. I also have the Danner Bull run Chelsea and size fit and comfort are all very different. Bottom line I hope to love the new Moc toe but it will require more time to insure correct size fit and comfort.

This is my second pair of Bull Runs. Don't know what the guy below is talking about cat pee for, mine smell like leather. The break-in can be a little tough on your ankles but once broken in these boots are insanely comfortable. For comparison I have a pair of insulated Red Wing Supersoles for the winter and after 8 or 9 hours I am ready to take those off. These I can keep on after a day of work and its no problem. Danner also FIXED a big issue I had with my first pair which was the tongues moving off center. The tongue of these boots now has a slot for you to run the laces through (I would highly recommend you use this to keep the tongues straight). I, personally, would try and avoid super wet conditions with these. I recondition with Obenauf's LP because its natural and helps with the water proofing but the dryer you can keep these the longer they will last. 10/10, this is my boot every work day from April - November

I’ve had my bull run moc toe boots for a few months. They are finally comfortable to wear all day. I had to replace the insole immediately. The tongue on the right boot always falls to the right and the right heel pocket seems to be molded a little low. I can’t quite get my heel to sit right in it. But I’d buy them again and give them another shot.

I have owned several pairs of danner boots in this style. My older pairs that I now just use for yard work are more comfortable. From the get go this pair had issues with them being wider than the insoles. Customer service sent wide insoles I had to cut to size and seemed to work for a little bit, but have become uncomfortable again. Feet and one knee start to hurt shortly after wearing. For the price quality control should not be an issue. Think I will be trying a new brand after this experience.

I have owned a non mock toe version of the Bull Run boots for over 7 years and had them resoled twice by my local cobbler. They had just had enough and will be used for summer yard work now until they are fully beat. I received the new Black Moc Bull Runs in wide as my feet are on the slight wide side and they look and feel great! I paired them with Royal Blue Laces too. Only thing is the left tongue is continuing to slide to one side and will not stay centered even with the laces running through it. Break in period was normal. I did on and off for about a week. They are comfy and light on the feet. I just hope the left tongue breaks in and stops slipping or I won’t be wearing these much.

So far, the boots have no break in pain. That’s a huge plus. The construction is tough but not painful. Craftsmanship is meticulous and clean. The website is straight forward and easy to use.

I walk on multiple surfaces throughout the day from smooth to rough and the soles hold up well. It’s a great durable and lightweight style boot, I say “they feel like a broken in baseball glove”.

I really wanted to love this boot, but I have a high instep and the way the tongue seam runs over the top of the foot where the eyelets begin caused it to rub the tops of my feet to the point where it was bruising and was quite painful. They also line the boot with a cloth and it ends at that seam on top of the foot. The excess material hangs down and makes the problem even worse. I wore them for a week thinking a break in would help. It didn't. Was too painful to wear.

Good looking and comfortable. One foot is wider than the other so I went with the EE width, fit on the narrower foot is better with the EE compared to D width. Great all around boot. Leather,color and stitching all top shelf stuff. I use them as my motorcycle boots, so far so good.

Dude these boots rock the look good feel good and I feel great when wearing them. I get nothing but excellent compliments through out the day on how nice they look. I were size 8.5 EE wide and the boots are true to size. Very comfortable as I were them all day at wrk and through out home life as well, That's another way cool feature about the boots is that they look good anywhere. I bought these in advance for when my red wings gave out they sat probably a year in the closet. I conditioned the leather using Danner products before they were worn and no more than 3 months of actual use they are ripping beyond belief on both boots on the left boot it has at least a 2 1/2 tear at the seam near the laces and the same is starting on the other side in the exact same spot I’m an auto collision tech so I’m not terrible on shoes but these did not hold up and of course the warranty is probably void.

Been wearing them for a few weeks now to work, and I absolutely love them! Been getting compliments on em too. The break in period was quick but I do recommend giving them a coat of neatsfoot oil or sno-seal. The oil softens the leather, protects it, and makes it very water resistant. I love that these are also recraftable. Moc soles are notorious for wearing down a bit quicker than others, but since they are replaceable (if done by a real cobbler) I expect to get a lot of life out of these wonderful USA Made boots!

Great quality of construction and leather. Only suggestion is when you slide your foot into the boot, it rolls up the leather flap on the inside at the top of your arch and presses down onto your foot. Very uncomfortable. If it was reversed, your foot would slide in easy. I will purchase again because it is a well made boot.

The boot itself is great. I am very disappointed in the sizing and customer experience. I purchased online and the boots at 10. 5 men’s were way way too long and narrow. I went to a store to be fit and was put into a 10. 0 EEE. The boots were ordered and sent to me. They are also way too big after wearing one time. It’s my fault for wearing them but I sort of went with the fitting at the store. I think I should be a whole size smaller still. I am in the military and have by name requested and worn Danner boots for over 20 years. The sizing of the boots is not even close.

Ordered these to replace a pair of Bull Runs I bought in April 2021 but accidentally ordered a D with instead of a EE so I ended up returning so here is a long term review of my 2021 pair. Stylistically I hate the two white “squares” sewn next to the first eyelet. Makes the toes look longer and disproportionate in my size 14’s. Right after I started wearing them to work anytime I would bump my toes on things. It would seem to take chunks out of the leather, I ended up oiling them thinking that the leather was dry. After owning them about a year and a half, one of the speed lace eyelets popped out. The soles have worn well; I walk on concrete in a retail store all day, every day and they have held up better than I expected. Boots are extremely comfortable other than the left boot has the tongue sewn in crooked and I have to adjust it regularly. I don’t love everything about these boots, but overall they’re comfortable and the EE has a nice wide toebox. Normally, I don’t think I have a very wide foot, but the D width has a very narrow toebox. I can’t find a pair of work boots that fits me any better but I wish they used leather more like Thorogood(Thorogoods fit and quality is pretty bad but they use really nice leather).

I have worn these for years, one pair a year for many years. But after the pandemic something changed. Quality is inferior. I bought 2 pairs of these, and both pairs the eye hooks for lacing up laces fell out. The stitching and glue seems were trash. And one boots fits great and the opposite boot fits like it’s on the wrong foot making break in painful on just the one foot. Danner gave up on warp and weft for their boots… Done with Danner.

I’ve ordered a lot of these over the years (at least 6). I think the leather is getting thinner overall. I would like to see an improvement in the tongue specifically - both too much material in the sense that it’s floppy and also not enough in the sense that it could be thicker and therefore more comfortable. The tongue should be a better fit and thicker.

Super comfortable. I started receiving compliments on these boots from the time I first put them on. I really like the way they look, too. And I can work in them all day and then walk home and my feet don't hurt. My only minor complaint is that the tongue of the boot kinda gets scrunched up, doesn't stay up all the time. I have to pull it up during the day. But overall, I am really, really enjoying these boots.
