Roper, a leading brand in western clothing and cowboy boots since 1986, was founded by Sam Mandelbaum, a WWII veteran who opened Roper's parent company, Karman, Inc. in 1948.
Mandelbaum established Karman, Inc. after he was denied a promotion at Miller Western Wear. With the help of Jack Karsh, Mandelbaum began his own company. The Roper brand was established in 1986. A family-run company, Roper and Karman, Inc. is now in the hands of Mandelbaum's son, Gary.
In 1993, Roper began its own line of footwear called Horseshoes, a unique combination of tennis shoes with boots. Roper managed to create a new niche in the footwear market. The footwear line accounts for about 40 percent of Roper's total sales.
Roper offers quality casual western clothing and cowboy boots for men. They also make fashionable cowgirl boots and shoes for women and cowboy boots for infants and kids.
