MODERN AMERICAN CRAFTSMEN

Tony Lama is famous for their high level of craftsmanship. Every pair must meet the strictest requirements for quality, durability, and style. The Tan Saigets Boot is an outstanding example of Tony Lama’s high standards, and it’s proudly handcrafted in El Paso, Texas.

HANDCRAFTED MEETS HI-TECH

At El Paso, Tony Lama’s hi-tech handcrafted process requires up to 130 steps to make each boot. To start off, a skilled craftsman carefully chooses each cut for the leather, and then the hide is precision stitched using computers.

CLOSE ATTENTION TO DETAIL

Next, the pieces of leather are stitched together with a practiced hand. To give the boot its shape, it is hand-lasted wet, and the steel shank, outsole, and heel are attached. To firmly secure the outsole, brass nails and wooden pegs are hand-hammered by a trained craftsman.

THE FINAL-AND MOST IMPORTANT STEPS

After the boot is complete, it must go through additional steps of finishing and rigorous quality control. Only when a boot passes this time-tested process can it be called a Tony Lama–the pioneer of American bootmaking.

BIRTH OF AN AMERICAN LEGEND

From cowboys to presidents, Tony Lama's boots are an American favorite. Born to Italian immigrant parents, he learned his first lessons in the boot industry at age 11. After being an Army cobbler in 1910, Lama started crafting boots. Cowboys and ranchers showed up at his doorstep with hides, requesting custom boots.

THE PINNACLE OF
MODERN CRAFTSMANSHIP

In the Tan Saigets Worn Goat Boot, intricate stitching and distressed leather show the same quality and authentic Western style that first drew cowboys to Tony Lama.

A PRESIDENTIAL FAVORITE

To show his patriotism, Tony Lama presented a custom pair of boots to Presidents Harry Truman, Ronald Reagan, and George H.W. Bush, and you know what–they loved 'em.

STYLE MEETS HANDCRAFTED QUALITY

Tony Lama innovated cowboy style by using exotic leathers, such as ostrich. The Chocolate Vintage Full Quill Ostrich Boot is an outstanding showcase of Tony Lama exotics.

BOOTS MADE FOR WORK

A remarkable example of Tony Lama’s commitment to quality is the Briar Pitstop Waterproof Steel Toe Boot. The TLX Performance Comfort Package makes it easy to get the job done. The Tony Lama legacy was created by a hardworking cobbler with a fierce pride in his craft. That same commitment to quality is reflected in every Tony Lama boot made today.
