I just received these boots in the mail. My first "real" pair of cowboy boots. First I'll state that my husband got these for me after some compromising. I wear a size 9.5 and my feet are flat and wide (horrid combination.) I'm 5'2 with an athletic build so my calves are a bit bigger. I first saw these and liked them a lot. I wanted the ones with the blue gradient stitching, but they were sold out in my size. So, I ordered these in 9.5 and (C) wide. I just put them on for the first time and here's my take...
The shaft of the boot isn't as big as I thought and therefore a bit snug around the biggest part of my calves (mainly, they will need to be broken in.) The width of the boot (size C...which I believe is the biggest) is not bad. It looks as though my feet might be a bit bigger, but then again, it does need broken in so we will see how it goes. The insole isn't bad, better than nothing. I haven't worn them long enough to fully experience the insole, which for me is a pretty important factor when deciding on shoes of any kind. The outsole is leather which it states in the description, BUT take in account that it is smooth/flat....no grip whatsoever. I about busted my butt walking around the carpet in our apartment. I might take some sandpaper to the bottom, or find some "expert" advice on roughing it up a bit. The boot is true to color. VERY beautiful!! To me, this picture doesn't do it justice. The stitching is lighter with yellows and whites. Like I said, it's extremely gorgeous!! I'm VERY satisfied with this boot and I hope it lasts a long time. I'm glad I went with this one, afterall. I was looking at Ariat boots, but it doesn't seem like they come in wide. So, if you have wider feet, I definitely suggest getting some Justin's!!
