Taylor Swift, Carrie Underwood: Music Leaders in Making Bank!

What do Taylor Swift and Carrie Underwood have most in common besides country music superstardom? They each have huge bank accounts with many, many zeros on their paychecks. This pair of country music hotties made so much money in the past year that they each grabbed a spot on Forbes’ 2011 list of the Top-Earning Women in Music. That’s something to click your fat baby boots about.

Taylor Swift , at a mere 22 years old came in at second on the list by bringing in a whopping $45 million thanks to the success of her Speak Now CD and worldwide tour. That’s more than $2 million for every year she’s been on the planet.

Taking a not-so-shabby seventh place was Carrie Underwood, who rolled in the dough by earning an impressive $20 million in 2011 – more than all her other former American Idol contestants. The top spot on the list went to  Lady Gaga,who earned $90 million this year. Other women on the list included Adele, Katy Perry, Celine Dion, Britney Spears and Beyoncé.

This isn’t the first time this country music femme duo has landed on a Forbes’ list: Taylor and Carrie both made the “Best Paid Celebrities Under 30″ countdown. New album releases from the two in 2012 should land them on the list next year as well. In March, Taylor will head to Australia to complete her Speak Now world tour, while Carrie should be back on the road as well.
