Do you know the right way to wear a cowboy hat?
So, you’ve gone out and bought yourself a cowboy hat. Now you’re wondering how to actually wear it! Follow these simple tips to help you wear it right
Correct hat size
First of all, make sure that you get the right size when you buy it. To do this, measure your head around your crown so that you know what to shop for. Getting the wrong size and shape will lead to the hat either falling too far down your forehead, or sitting too high up on your crown. Not good either way.
Next, adjust your hairstyle to compliment the hat. You don’t want your hair getting in the way, so slicking it back so that it falls down behind the hat is usually best. Now make some adjustments to the positioning of the hat. Angle the brim so that it tilts slightly downward and to one side – make sure it’s flat on the front and back but slightly curled up around the edges.
Cowboy hats complete the look
Now create your ensemble. Wearing the hat with jeans and boots is great for that traditional cowboy look and for outdoor summery events. To keep things a little less fancy-dress, pair your hat up with a flowery dress or a long skirt with a soft blouse. Don’t go over the top or you’ll end up looking like a character straight out of a Western, unless you’re dressing up for a rodeo, of course!
So, there you have it. Picking your ensemble and making sure that you get the right-sized hat are the most important thing. For more, check out our range of cowboy hats here.
