Cowboy Boots (With the Fur): How to Stay Chic and Toasty in the Winter Months
I loathe winter.
Not just dislike.
LOATHE.
I despise this season where the sun doesn’t get up before I do. This magnificent celestial heat lamp also punches the time clock to leave early every day, skipping out on work as early as 4:30. Also, as a southerner, any season in which the temperature drops below 60 degrees requires me to wear thermal underwear, 2 sweaters, and a down filled coat. I more closely resemble a deer tick than a sentient human being on cold layering days. It is, for me, tremendously difficult to feel put together in the winter months.
I recently stumbled across a fashion trend that makes my mornings a little more fashionable and a little less frigid: furry boots.
No, I’m not talking about those shearling lined, shapeless boots whose name starts will a vowel and sounds like something a caveman might name his pet triceratops.
I’m talking real cowgirl boots, lined with fur. They are classic, functional, comfortable…and WARM!
This winter, there have been tons of designers who have combined fur and footwear into beautiful, luxurious creations. Take Ralph Lauren for instance.
This boot is obviously a little less wearable for those of us who live in places where plants and nature still dominate (i.e. NOT a big city), but the basic design principles can be translated into something appropriate for ladies whose idea of a Friday night might involve watching a football game rather than going on a date with an NFL player.
There have been a lot of shearling-lined boots this year too, like these snow boots from Sorel.

For all the ladies who love country music and cowboy boots, these fuzzy Ariat boots for women will make your winter a little easier. The shearling lining keeps your toes warm and are a great choice for cowboy boot collectors and enthusiasts!
