Christmas Comes Home to Canaan is the sequel to the 2009 hit made-for-TV movie, Christmas in Canaan. Billy Ray plays the role of Daniel Burton. We follow his efforts to assist in the recovery of his son who was severely injured in an car accident.

The film also reunites him with Matt Ward, the actor who portrays Rodney Freeman, the young African American man Daniel took into his home in the first film and who has since become a famous writer. Although he had a few stipulations about reprising his role, Billy Ray says that ultimately he related to the character he played, dealing with issues of racism and adversity.
Christmas in Canaan was such a widely acclaimed hit that Cyrus said he would only do a sequel if the script could top the first film. Guess what? Cyrus read the script and was completely bowled over. So he said,”Let’s go for it! It’s a great story, and I can’t wait for people to see it.”
Movies aren’t the only thing on Billy Ray’s plate; he has plans for a new album. His movie Christmas-movie role inspired one of the songs, simply entitled, “Home.”
What does Cyrus have in the works as far as New Year’s resolutions go? “I want to continue to spread happiness and joy in every way I can, and try to get out and play for my fans around the world.”
